  • Amakuni: purveyor of expensive shit you probably can’t afford but really want. They’re continuing that trend today with another Persona 5 announcement: Futaba Sakura! Sigh, my squid waifu in her Phantom Thief outfit is a thing of dreams. And a lot of $$ Oh, they had other things as well! Like sculpts for Lilith Aensland, and Shinki Ixseal from Choukou Shinki Ixseal. Plus an announcement for Medusa Lancer from Fate/Grand Order, along with a few of their older sculpts. • Morrigan Aensland is one of those characters who you’d think would get more figures. After all, one of the rarest ones in the world is of her: the elusive Max Factory version, which will cost you $500 if you’re very lucky. Two years ago we got a pretty lackluster figure of her from Capcom, and now they’re at it again! Hopefully with higher quality. This time we’re getting a nurse version of her. And while I am dubious about the quality, it’s gonigto be the same sculptor that did Max Factory’s Morrigan and also Solange (and, you know, Capcom’s terrible Morrigan…) so I’m trying to keep my hopes up because the art looks fantastic. • The Ace Attorney games are undoubtedly popular, but it seems like there’s very little in the way of figure merchandise. Not even a Nendoroid! Which would make a lot of people’s dreams come true. But we’re finally getting something, and it’s not a cheap figure from a mediocre company. Oh no. It’s a figma! Produced by Phat! Company, this figma will give us the poseable Phoenix Wright figma that fans deserve. Just think of the posing and picture opportunities! Grilling Nendoroids on the stand, objecting to scantily clad bikini girls… it’s gonna be a good time. [via Inside Games]

  • Breath of Fire is a game series I think we all expected to never see figures from. There are zero PVC figures from it, and did we think that would change? No! But Breath of Fire 6 is coming out in February, and while it’s an MMO rather than their usual RPG format, a new entry means figures. Kotobukiya will be the first (and possibly only) company to work with the characters: they’ll be taking on Nina! Who has wings, and Koto is consistently awesome when it comes to those (Olivia, Astraea) so I am really looking forward to her even if the character design isn’t the most original. [via Capcom]

  • Good Smile Company has really been on a roll with the video game-based Nendoroids, huh? Link, Kirby, and now we’re getting the full preview of Mega Man! Or Rockman, if you’re fancy and live in Japan. Either way, he was painted at this past Summer Wonder Festival, so I guess the quick turnaround isn’t that much of a surprise. Like many of their recent Nendos, Mega Man comes with a ton of extras. There are two effect parts for his Mega Buster (regular and charged), an E Tank, and an absolutely amazing damaged face that is just perfectly goofy. Plus he has some extra joints, for ultimate poseability. And there is, of course, a GSC shop bonus–a death effect sheet. Orders open tonight! [via Kahotan]

  • Or should I call him Rockman because it sounds so much cooler? Either way, who gives a damn when we’re getting an amazing Nendoroid of MEGAMAN! Yeah, we already knew he was coming, but now we can actually see all of him. I’m super excited as this brings me way back to the days of attempting to play the NES and SNES Megaman games as a kid and failing miserably. And then spending my Saturdays watching that NT Warrior show that was super underrated. Either way, just look at him, he’s so tiny! And cute! And pissed off! And coming your way eventually! Ahh! • If you know me personally, you probably also know that I have kind of an… obsession with Airou & all of the felynes. Because what is better than cats + video games? Nothing. The answer is nothing. I have a pretty massive collection of assorted Airou goodies, including my most prized kitty possessions: the full scaled Airous from MegaHouse. Given the huge amount of variety in Airou merch, I’m embarrassed that it took me so long to finally bring some of my plastic kitties out for a photoshoot adventure! This particular set is from Capcom Figure Builder Standard Model Monster Hunter Felyne Comrade Vol.1 (try saying that 3 times fast), and I chose the most “realistic” looking Felynes to come out hunting. There are some goofy ones too, and I really want to do something with Nurse Airou… I just don’t know what!

  • So, we all know that Capcom’s Morrigan is pretty terrible. We saw the art, we got excited, and then… it was a disappointment. I’d prefer to never see this damn figure again because it breaks my heart every time. But no, they had to do a recolor contest where people voted on an exciting second version. The white one won. And somehow, it’s even worse than the original! Oh, and it’s an exclusive. If you really, really want her… you can go get her at Big In Japan. Or Capcom directly if you have a different preferred proxy. Blah.

  • When the new (and 5th!) Monster Hunter Nendoroid was announced, I was a bit confused. Now I am super extra confused. I mean, she literally looks like she is wearing some kind of Eastern European Christmas garb. Out to go caroling. This is not the MonHun aesthetic I know and love. But at least now we have a name for her: G-kyuu Uketsukejou. But, you know, you get a little Poogie in a diaper! Doesn’t make it worth ¥9800o me, though. Now a box of Poogie figures? Oh wait, Capcom already did that. Get with the program, GSC. We want more cute critters. [via Capcom]

  • The Monster Hunter Nendoroids have had a very distinct style from the beginning. Sure, the first one was a bit garishly colored, but after that we’ve seen very consistent color palettes and textures. I mean… they look like they’re from MH. So I was very, very surprised when I saw this Nendo and then the series attached to it. This is the G Class Receptionist, and she looks more like an anime character than someone who is going to help you kill monsters. I’m not really that thrilled with her design (Christmas tree dress…), but she’ll be hard to get even if you do love her: she’s bundled with the Monster Hunter Frontier G Anniversary 2014 Premium Package which will cost you ¥9,800. Ouch. [via the Monster Hunter Twitter]
