Between the Dark Souls III figma and Kasumi from Dead or Alive, we’ve got some great video game additions that are less expected. Then we’ve also got the amazing announcement of a Tony Taka’s PANDORA figma, which should be great!

Now in unexpected land we’ve got Arashi from Game Center Arashi, figma Kurogo, who just appears to be a random ninja, Goro Inogashira from Kodoku No Gurume, who just looks like a random middle aged Japanese guy in a suit, the wrestler Masahiro Chono, two figmas from Arms Note, and last, but not least, completely out of left field, a character from the 1977 movie Village of Eight Gravestones. Then the art line is being continued with Yuurei-zu and Nike and we’re also getting a figma of higma, the traditional bear carving. It’s like Sailor Moon: the ten-year-old girl in me just goes apeshit. I tried really hard to temper my expectations for GSC’s Sakura after we saw the sculpt: I mean, it was a thing of beauty, but it’s important to not get too excited! And sadly it seemed like I was right when we saw her painted… but maybe it was the event lighting?

I’m so torn about this figure. I think Sakura herself looks amazing: the sculpt is so crisp and the colors perfectly bright. I mean, just look at the floofy skirt! Perfection! But I really dislike the base. It looks kind of cheap to me, too much perfectly clear PVC and it’s just a lil too elaborate (my problem with MF Sheryl as well). It’s hard to focus on Sakura! And she’s going to cost like $300 so it’s not something I want to compromise on. Thankfully, there will be a standard version that’s just the figure! Of course at ¥12k it still costs and arm and a leg but I greatly prefer the simplicity of that one.

[via Kahotan]
