Kotobukiya had two Bishoujo-related announcements at Toy Fair: the art for Katana and the full reveal of Kamala. But given at this is a US-centric event, they had a TON more out and about, though funnily enough most of them were from non- comic franchises. It’s amazing how big the line has grown since it started with just Marvel girls!
It was mostly movie Bishes on display: Chucky (who might be my all-time fave), Edward Scissorhands, and The Bride. Then there were some video game girls, like Rainbow Mika and Ibuki. We also know that there will be a new Chun-Li, though the sign for her was not out.

It’s only been a short while since Kotobukiya showed off the painted Bishoujo Chucky sculpt, but apparently it’s already time for Tiffany to make an appearance! This is a very fast turnaround on both of them, given that the art was unveiled last February.
We don’t have any full images of her, just this atmospheric shot of the devilish duo. They both look amazing, and I had pretty high expectations for Tiffany given that it’s the same sculptor as Chucky. I bet they’ll look perfect together out in display!
[UPDATE] Full pictures are in the gallery! She’s also up for pre-order.

There seems to be a pattern with me and the Horror Bishoujo line. When we first find out about an announcement, I’m skeptical (“cute girl Chucky?” I say to myself. “No thanks.”). The art is unveiled and I’m basically won over because it’s always so good. Then we get the sculpt, and I’m totally in love. It happened with Edward Scissorhands, and it’s happening again with Chucky, who I think I actually like the most of the line so far!
She’s just so adorable but also evil. The knife behind her back? Such a nice touch. Plus she comes with an alternate scarred head if you want a little more horror in your life. The sculpt here is just lovely, and we found out that Tiffany will be done by the same person so the two should fit together perfectly when they’re completed!

We’ve brought you quite a bit from Kotobukiya’s NYCC panel so far: Ms. Marvel Bishoujo, Katana Bishoujo, DC tv shows, Spike, Star Wars, Marvel, and DC. But there are always some assorted odds and ends left over!
They had information about a handful of their anime and game figures. None of it was that new, but we did get confirmation that the Street Fighter Bishoujo line would be continuing! They didn’t have a reveal here, but we were assured that Rainbow Mika is not the last one we’ll see. Along with that, we found out that the Horror Bishoujo line is also continuing! Again, no actual announcement, but they said there were “several interesting licenses” they were discussing. Which hopefully means not just one more Horror Bish, but a ton of them!

I am really surprised by how consistently smitten I’ve been with the Horror Bishoujo line. As a hardcore horror fan it seems right up my alley, but I was hesitant about gender-swapped, sexified versions of my faves. After Edward Scissorhands and Chucky & Tiffany’s art reveal, I knew it was love, and Bishoujo Chucky’s sculpt has just solidified my love for this line.
She’s SO CUTE, guys. The cheeky pose, the amazing job they did on her face, the intricacies of her outfit sculpt, the sneaky knife behind her back… even though I am mortally petrified of dolls coming to life, I want her. I mean, if this little cutie got up and started walking around my apartment I wouldn’t even mind. As long as she keeps the knife to herself. And how creepy is the alternate face? Yes please.

Just a couple days ago we got that teaser for Bishoujo Chucky, and right before Wonder Festival (which is only a few hours away) we’re getting the full reveal! And not just that, but a second announcement: Tiffany from Bride of Chucky.
I was super skeptical about this release to be honest: I mean, Chucky? Really? But she’s SO CUTE! Just adorable, and not at all creepy. Plus we have glamorously goth Tiffany to go with her. What a cute couple they will be.

My least-favorite part of Wonder Festival (besides the crippling stress of actually covering the event) is the teasers. There are just… a lot of them, from every company, and it’s so much news! Plus it gives away some of the surprises. One of these in particular I would much rather have seen at WonFest and been like “wow, what the hell?” But alas, here we are.
Anyway, we have a couple art-based announcements: Bishoujo Edward Scissorhands, Pokemon Trainer Red, and… Bishoujo Chucky?!?! Yup, she’s the newest Horror Bishoujo! We also have the painted sculpt for their KanColle Hibiki and the Cu-Poche Verniy, and a ton of totally new “announcements.” We’ll be getting a figure of Sakura Shinguji from Sakura Wars (AW YIS), Anna Mochizuki from IM@S Million Live!, and Danua from Granblue Fantasy. Phew, that’s a lot of stuff!
