Kotobukiya’s Summer WonFest 2017 Teasers

Wonder Festival is over a week away, but already we are getting teasers! Earlier every year, I tell you. This time Kotobukiya is first up to bat with quite a few updates & new figures… and they always have 2 teasers, so there are more where this came from.

First up is the sculpt for their Pokemon Sun & Moon Lillie, along with the announcement that they will be doing Moon as well! We also have a new sculpt for Nono Morikubo from Cinderella Girls, and a new Captain America. They also teased the sculpts for Shokudaikiri Mitsutada from Touken Ranbu and Yang Wen-li from Ginga Eiyuu Densetsu.

SDCC 2017: Ikemen Nightwing & Red Hood

It has been almost exactly a year since Kotobukiya announced the Ikemen line, which is a male companion to the Bishoujos. Cute boys with cute butts doing cute things, finally! It seems that there has been a lot of work put into this line, because progress has been slow and they’re really trying to make it perfect. Both for us, of course, and for the ever-fickle DC.

This is an unexpected but pleasant surprise. Their original Ms Marvel is one of my favorites in the line, and I can’t wait to get an updated version of the character.

Plus I am very happy they included the short hair! Usually the Bish line goes for sexy flowing locks but I love her more rugged and cool look here. And looking really cute to boot. I know this is a lot to ask, but I am really hoping she comes with that amazing fur-lined cape. Or maybe an alternate edition of Diana in her beautiful suit? Because you know everyone likes the villain more than the protagonist, but you can’t start a line off without a hero!

My main question is, who names a little baby Oswald Cobblepot? You’re basically just asking to create a supervillain at that point, right? That or an NFL player (I’m looking at you, Ha Ha Clinton Dix). Both Oswald/Penguin and Jim Gordon are painted and ready for orders. Who would you like to see next in the line, Plastikitties?

I have seen exactly one episode, and granted I was at the gym so maybe I wasn’t paying close attention. But man, aliens in the DC world sure play it fast and loose, huh? You’d think posting even a single guard around kidnapped people would be mandatory. Not in ~tv land~

Anyway, Kotobukiya’s Arrow ArtFX+ was one of the figures we got to take out from behind the glass at Toy Fair. Look at his little arrows! He’s totally gonna attempt to shoot you with them but I doubt it would really hurt. Pew pew, watch out for tiny Arrow! Do you ever look at all these small scale superhero figures and imagine them trying to take down a normal-sized human in some sort of epic boss battle? And the human is you? No…. just me?
