Just when I was lamenting how we only know about one of the Dolpa 29 Dollifes (Asuna) we get a leak of the second gal! It’s going to be Alice Kunoji from Mahou Tsukai no Yoru, following up the wildly popular Aoko Aozaki. I actually had to pass on Aoko to get my Melty twins and have really been regretting it–she’s so pretty! But Alice, thankfully looks quite like her–or rather, if Aoko and Mio had a love child.
Since she doesn’t have a fancy sword or anything she’ll retail for a low ¥56,000. She’ll be released at Dopla 29 which takes place on April 28th. Get your wallets ready and your lucky charms in a row, because I feel like both of these ladies are going to be really popular!
[UPDATE] Added full-color scans, she is stunning! Alice will be an S bust on the new semi-white skinned body, and also has a super cute alternate casual outfit!

Well, since this is one of the bigger events there’s a whole lot. We’ve got stuff for every doll size (that Volks makes, of course), from Yo-SD to their large 1/3rd scale boys.</p> <p>I’m sure most of you are interested in the DD stuff, and Volks seems to be going for a sports theme this time around. We’ve got cheerleader outfits and baseball getups that are really cute, but not my cup of tea. I like my girls to dress more naturally, so it’s the SD outfits that appeal to me this time around–especially that one in the header! We’ve <a href="http://www.plastikitty.com/home/dollfie-dream-asuna-is-coming-to-dolpa-29" target="_blank">already seen Asuna</a>, who at the moment is obviously the highlight of the event, but my eye has been on Alice Kunoi <a href="http://www.plastikitty.com/home/alice-kunoji-is-the-other-dolpa-29-dollfie-dream" target="_blank">since her announcement</a>. I’ve been waiting patiently for her official shots, and finally they are here!</p> <p>Alice is just lovely, with a shy and almost aloof looking face. That type tends to appeal to me, and in fact she looks quite like some of my other dolls like <a href="http://www.plastikitty.com/home/hometown-dolpa-kyoto-9after-event-dd-lucy" target="_blank">Lucy</a> and <a href="http://www.plastikitty.com/home/plastikitty-gallery-sakuno-in-the-sun" target="_blank">Sakuno</a>. She also takes advantage of the new semi-white skin body, which is less pale than the previous one. I mean there are so many girls, it’s not like they can make all of them! But as we’re finding out from Volks News 49, there will be at least two more–Yukiho Hagiwara and Chihaya Kisaragi! I’m a bit surprised, I thought for sure Azusa would be up next given her popularity and I was really hoping for Hibiki as well.</p> <p>Thankfully neither of these girls sparks my interest (yet) because if they are anything like the first two they will be Japan-only. But who knows, maybe they’ve changed their minds and these girls will come to the US…. as pre-orders! Hey, I can dream. Now we’re seeing her official shots from Volks, and while I think my Dollfie collection is a bit too stuffed to fit miss Asuna she certainly is looking pretty.</p> <p>Many people have noted a similarity in her face to <a href="http://www.plastikitty.com/home/volks-shows-off-the-new-ddh-06-head" target="_blank">the DDH-06</a> along with <a href="http://www.plastikitty.com/home/take-a-closer-look-at-dollfie-dream-haruka" target="_blank">Haruka Niimi</a>, which I see as well. Though really, it’s hard at this point to come up with a totally new DD head that doesn’t look like any of the past releases. I assumed that she would be at one of the bigger Dolpas, and given that she didn’t show up at the winter one her appearance at Toyko Dolpa 29, which will take place on April 28th, was almost a given.</p> <p>I will admit that I am not a big fan of her character design (long faces and big eyes are not my thing) but I do think they did a decent job rendering her and I love the wig! As usual the sculptor took some licenses with the character designs but she definitely looks like Asuna to me. Though I know some fans are (rightfully) wishing her face was longer, it’s almost impossible for a DD to look totally like the character–except for maybe Rise. Her price isn’t that bad at ¥69,300, even with the armor and sword. As usual for a dolpa, we’ve got a ton of variety and clothing for pretty much all the doll bodies that Volks makes.</p> <p>Of course the Dollfie Dream outfits are what interest me most, and there are some lovely ones! Particularly the brown ensemble they put on Saber Extra, which has a nice casual vibe. There’s also a very Dominatrix-y one as well! Of course it’s not all DDs, there are plenty of lovely and elegant SD outfits as well. In fact we found out about her <a href="http://www.plastikitty.com/home/volks-teases-three-new-dollfies" target="_blank">a long time ago</a>, back when we still thought Mariko would be a little sister to Moe.</p> <p>I’ve gone back and forth on Nanami a lot. At first I was totally in love, but then I thought that her mouth looked a little weird. I really wanted to see comparison shots with Natsuki, who happens to be a dream doll of mine, and Volks is finally delivering! I’m going to commit Dollfie blasphemy here and say that at this point, I actually like Nanami more. While this might seem like an odd choice compared to other more popular dolls they could re-release (Yuki, Rina, Sasara, Tamaki…) I do adore my Lucy so I am happy to see a new getup for her.</p> <p>The faceup is pretty much the same as the first one, though it looks like there might be a little more blush. She is, however, on a semi-white body like KOS-MOS, which is a small change but it does count. But the outfit is to die for! It’s just so freaking adorable, I love the parasol and the intricate dress. We’ve got everything from pastry chefs to snazzy waiters, and in sizes from YoSD to the bigger male and female dolls. None of these really strike my fancy, though the mocha maid dresses are pretty nice. But these don’t look like outfits that would be good for mixing and matching really, which is always a big selling point for me.</p> <p>Along with the outfits and shoes we are also getting… pillows! Dollfie Dream sized to be precise, which is a nifty idea especially given that the set of 3 is under $10.
