Eri Ayase Archive

  • I was over the moon when Alpha x Omega announced that they’d be picking up Primal Heart’s garage kit of Eri Ayase from Love Live. I mean, I love Primal Heart and I love Halloween figures. What could go wrong? Well, I should have known better than to get my hopes up because Alpha x Omega means MegaHouse is involved. And I am pretty certain they just sit around a table all day cackling and discussing ways to screw over their fans. Dear MegaHouse (and Bandai): I hate you and you are dead to me. Love, Leah. So Eri is an exclusive and I wanna cry. She’s so pretty! But already so expensive (¥14,400 retail) plus fees on top of that? No bueno. Why do you hate me, MegaHouse? Why couldn’t Alter have done this by themselves? Because they want us to suffer, that’s why. [via Bandai Premium]

  • We’ve seen Alter’s Yuzuruha, but of course they had lots more at Megahobby Expo! I mean, they did just show off some stuff at that IDOLM@STER event but still, many goodies to be had. There were, of course, many of their Love Live! girls (seeing as how they are doing the whole cast): the Halloween Eri was there (which is technically Alpha x Omega), along with Maki Nishikino and Nozomi Tojou. We also have two Sabers: the previously announced Saber Alter is sculpted, and they’ve announced a new school uniform one. Personally, I don’t need any more Sabers, but man the dress on that Alter… The most exciting announcement (to me) is a dual figure of Charlotte and Laura from Infinite Stratos… as catgirls! It’s just too cute. We also have sculpts for Edna from Tales of Zestiria (who I seriously thought was another Saber), along with Julius Will Kresnik from Tales of Xillia 2. Gertrud Barkhorn, the last announced Strike Witch, is sculpted, and the rather risque Mea Kurosaki got a paint job along with Isuzu Sento. Check them all out below! [UPDATE] Added Yukina Himeragi from Strike the Blood [via whitenoize, prizeman_ufo & Hobby Search]

  • When was the last time you heard the name Alpha x Omega? If you’re a newer figure fan, you might not even know about this company, which is a collaboration between Alter and MegaHouse. They (technically) have worked on some of MegaHouse’s Yamato girls, but their last stand-alone piece was of Yagyu Kyubei in 2013. That’s a long time to go figure-less, and I kind of assumed they were defunct. But thankfully (because their quality is usually great), they’ve come back together! And, oddly enough, it’s to mass-produce a Primal Heart sculpt. This is weird because Alter has produced some of them, so it’s odd to see a team-up for one of their sculpts. This time it’s of an amazing Halloween version of Eri Ayase, which is just… perfect. I really like Eri’s design but none of her figures have really spoken to me until now. [via figure/GK]

  • One of Good Smile Company’s Wonder Festival reveals was a Petit Nendoroid set of the Love Live girls. I was pretty excited for them: I love the design of the LL cast, but so far the Nendoroid sets (both the original and casual) have done pretty much nothing for me. But these ones? Ridiculous name aside (angelic angel, so redundant), I adore the outfits they picked here! The set contains all 9 of the girls, and for Petits the sculpts look quite intricate: the hair in particular is great! As per usual, there are exclusive bonuses: the GSC shop is offering cute bases for all of them, as is Circle K Sunkus. And if you buy a full set from any location, you get a special base & background to set them all up! Orders open tonight. [via Kahotan]

  • Teasers in air quotes because these aren’t really teasers. I mean, they’re teasing the heck out of me, but it’s really just two announcements. Let’s start with the less exciting one: Eri Ayase from Love Live. I actually adore Alter’s Love Live line, so I am looking forward to her! But what am I looking forward to more? THE FREAKING HEADER. Yes, Alter is finally making Yuzuruha from Muramasa. Finallllyyy. I’m too excited, guys. Someone hold me. [via Alter’s Blog]

  • Companies seem to be on the warpath with Love Live this week! First we had seven figure announcements from Alter, and now Good Smile is topping that with a whopping nine Nendoroids. Yes, that’s pretty much the whole cast. And yes, they already made Nendos of the whole cast… but these are in cute casual outfits! I’ll be honest, I really disliked the first set: the outfits read very circus-y to me, and had no appeal even though I do like a lot of the character designs. So while GSC might be milking this franchise, I am so happy! Because I want all of them. [via Kahotan]

  • Alter’s Love Live line has been pretty on point so far, and I think we all expected a few more girls from them. What we didn’t expect was ALL THE GIRLS. Because that’s basically what they are doing. Yup, they have just announced that Nozomi Tojou, Umi Sonoda, Eri Ayase, Hanayo Koizumi, and Honoka Kousaka will be getting figures from them, along with a second (!!) figure for Maki Nishikino. The reveal also features art for Niko Yazawa, but we already knew about her. That makes seven more Love Live girls we’ll be getting–and thankfully they’ve chosen some really cute outfits. I’m most excited for Nozomi and Umi, what about you guys? [via fig/GK]

  • Considering that Good Smile Project is already working on scaled figures of the girls from Love Live! School Idol Project, it probably comes as no surprise that they will be added to the Nendoroid lineup as well. However, the sheer number of girls they’ve selected is a bit of a shock: prepare your wallets, Love Live fans, because nine have already been picked! We’ve got Honoka Kousaka, Kotori Minami, Niko Yazawa, Hanayo Koizumi, Nozomi Toujou, Umi Sonoda, Maki Nishikino, Rin Hoshizora, and Eri Ayase. Phew! That is a LOT of girls. I wonder how long it will take for the whole line to get sculpted? [via Kahotan’s Twitter]

  • Kotobukiya is kind of the reigning champ of swimsuit figures. There are many companies who make more (Wave, anyone?) but few who make them better. I suppose Alter might top them in quality, but they release swimsuit girls far too infrequently to vie for the title. Koto, however, puts them out with gusto and they always look so darn cute and manage to have appealing sculpts. I blame my entire swimsuit girl collection on their Nono Nekomiya and Minato Nagase. This time they are taking on Eri Ayase from Love Live! School Idol Project. This is a character I really wouldn’t usually be interested in but oh my god this figure is just so cute. Sadly, she’s an exclusive, and her base retail price of ¥8,300 for a 1/8 scale figure is pretty high to start with. [via Dengeki]
