The Vocaloid family seems to get a lot of love from Good Smile Company & co: except for the fringe ones like IA and, of course, the boys: though they do get Nendoroids (even Gakupo!), we don’t see much in the way of scaled merchandise or anything else for that matter. So it’s no surprise that fans went pretty ballistic when a figma of Kaito was shown off at Winter Wonder Festival! While I’m not a huge Kaito fan I can appreciate everyone else’s enthusiasm, and we’re finally getting a preview of this handsome devil.
While I think his limbs are a bit too gangly, he does look nice and he comes with a decent amount of extras. He comes with three faces: standard, a really cute happy face, and a singing face. I don’t really like the singing one, since he kind of looks… pissed off. And of course he has his signature ice cream! Sadly, the parasol in the shots is NOT his, but Snow Miku’s. Why do you taunt us like this, Mikatan?! He’ll be up for order tonight.

At Wonder Festival, Max Factory showed off two figmas from Vividred Operation: Akane Isshiki, who we’ve already seen, and Rei Kuroki, who we are taking a look at today! I am not a huge fan of Akane’s design and she didn’t come with a ton of extras: add on the price bump her huge bike gave the figma and the entire package kind of left me wanting. Thankfully, Rei makes up for this in droves! I’m kind of in love, guys.
Her character design is more my style: long hair, a stylish scarf, dark tresses, pissed off expressions, and a freaking bow with wings. How awesome is that?! She comes with a ton of weaponry: the aforementioned bow and arrow, and two guns: one of which you can put in her back pocket. Adorable! Like Akane she won’t be cheap: Rei will retail for ¥4,000 with a October release date and orders open on the 14th.

Have you ever thought to yourself “Nendoroids are so cute and adorable, I’m tired of that! Let’s see one that gives you horrible, bone-shattering nightmares and haunts your waking hours!” As much as I like to joke about Mikudayo she’s still pretty cute, but apparently Good Smile Company has taken my messages to heart and is creating the first truly nightmare fueled Nendoroid–Colossal Nendoroid from Shingeki no Kyojin.
Why anyone thought this was a good idea is beyond me. I mean, it’s pretty much just a skinless body! Ahh, so creepy. And this is coming from a person who loves creepy things. Do you know how many times I’ve read House of Leaves? A lot! But this is too far, man! Even for me.
[UPDATE] There is also going to be a figma Colossal Titan! Now that I can get behind. Creepy figma Titan assaulting all my figures? Yes please.

Today is pretty much the best day ever to be a Steins;Gate fan if you’re also a figure collector. First they announced a figma of Makise Kurisu in her white lab coat, and then the Faris Nendoroid was revived from the dead! And if that wasn’t enough the show’s mad scientist, Okabe Rinatrou, is getting a figma as well. Fangirls rejoice!
But that’s not all the news we have for you today. Devil Survivor 2, which is getting an anime in the very near future, is getting picked up by Good Smile Company and the protagonist, Hibiki Kuze, will be made into Nendoroid form! Two of the game’s female characters have already received figures but it’s surprising to see GSC hopping onto an Atlus property this early. I wonder if more are to come?

Figma Makise Kurisu from Steins;Gate came out a long time ago, but it seems Max Factory is returning to the show with a second version of the scientist! This time it’s a white coat version, which we’ve already seen in Nendoroid form. That time it was an exclusive, and often figma redos are exclusive as well: however, there are no big GSC & co events on the horizon so it’s possible this could be a regular release!
Makise is one of my favorite recent characters so I’m happy to see her getting more attention. This version also has the potential for some awesome accessories and faces. Maybe some gel bananas?!

To say that Good Smile Company & co are milking Madoka Magica for all it’s worth would be an understatement. However, this is great news for its fans! Not only do we get scaled figures, Nendoroids and figmas of all the girls but we get second versions of literally all of them. My favorite so far have been the school uniform figmas: we’ve gotten Madoka, Homura, Mami and Sayaka. Of course Kyoko doesn’t go to school so instead we get a vastly superior casual figma.
Her accessories are, you guessed it, food! Lots of food. There are, of course, a bag of apples and a few stray ones, the food stick and a… um, okay, I have no idea what the 3rd food item is. Pizza? No. Some kind of crepe? In any case, it’s like getting a mini ReMent set with your figma! She also comes with 3 faces: happy, bored, and angry. She retails for ¥3,800 with an August release and orders should start very soon!

Max Factory and Good Smile Company have been collectively jizzing their pants over Vividred Operation before the series even aired: meanwhile, every other company seems to be staunchly ignoring the show. Perhaps they have exclusive rights like with Black Rock Shooter and Madoka, or perhaps everyone else realizes how deathly boring their character design is. Either way we saw a whole lot of the main girl Akane at Wonder Festival: a figure (which they used Kiking, of all people, to sculpt–what a waste!), two figmas and a Nendoroid.
The school uniform figma was shown off in scans recently, so she’s first up to bat. Because of her scooter she is an absolutely crazy ¥4,000, especially considering that she comes with like nothing else. An alternate lower body for the scooter and three faces–happy, more happy and slightly distressed. Yup, that’s it. Thrilling. Orders open tonight and she’ll come out in August.

Magazine scans always take me by surprise. Well, most of the time anyway. It’s funny, because I know they are the same night every month yet somehow I forget! So I’m just sitting around, minding my own business and indulging in sappy tv shows when BAM suddenly scans!
This month we’ve got a whole lot from MegaHouse, including a brand new boy! To be honest it’s not the most action-packed month but of course there are lots of goodies to be had. Check them all out after the jump!

Recently, the deadly duo of Max Factory and Good Smile Company have been milking the Nanoha franchise to death. Especially the damn figmas: we’ve had two Nanohas and three Fates in the span of a year. What the heck! But at WonFest they previewed (finally) a figma of a character that isn’t Fate or Nanoha: Hayate Yagami, who is generally the only other Nanoha girl to get attention despite the huge cast.
And, gasp, this figma is actually new and not just a redone version of something we’ve seen a million times! Hayate has one figma, but it’s of her grown up form: this is loli Hayate, complete with differently colored hair even (though fo course she’ll have her standard brown too). Shea lso comes with 3 faces (happy, angry, closed-eyed), her staff and book, and her jacket is removable. She’ll retail for ¥3,800 with a July release and orders open tonight!

AmiAmi has this nasty habit of combining our orders into big glumps that overlap between months. So, for example, we might not get some of our January stuff until the beginning of March (yet mysteriously it will be with not just February but March items as well). You may have noticed that we skipped a January loot post: well, that’s because we didn’t even get all our figures from it until a few days ago!
But thankfully January and February seemed to be smaller months than most, so we’re just going to combine them into a mega loot post! Check it all out after the jump.
