  • I remember the dark times when Good Smile Company didn’t come to US events. Thankfully those days are over, because their booth is usually the toy highlight of any convention! And they really brought it for NYCC this year with not one but two separate booth displays. They had a lot of brand-new goodies, like the Anniversary Miku (look at that hair!!), figma Genji, and the sculpt for the Breath of the Wild Guardian Nendoroid. It’s always nice to be able to see figures in person, it’s quite a different experience–for example, I wasn’t really sold on Marie Rose’s colors at all when the promotional shots came out, but I was totally won over when I finally got to see her. She might be coming to my pre-order list!

  • We’ve seen all of the new goodies that Good Smile Company had a toy fair already, like Nendoroid Tracer, the Portal 2 figmas, and Nendoroid Link. But of course they had more than 3 figures out! That would be pretty odd, right? A big booth with just 3 things. Very ominous. Anyway, they had lots of their more US-centric licenses out on display, like the Naruto Nendoroids… which are USA only! Weird, right? But cool. There was also a lot of Zelda, Dota 2, Fire Emblem, Metroid, Suicide Squad, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and of course… that amazing Disney announcement. Check ’em all out below the jump!

  • Nendoroids. I love ’em, but on days like this I think to myself “why are there so many?!” We’ve seen the Nendos from Persona 5 and Fate/Grand Order. But there’s more. SO MANY MORE. We’ve got a surprise Lum, Fullmetal Alchemist cuties, Atlas & P-Body, Tony Taka Racing Miku, a new Kirby x2, Leonard Watch, Li from Cardcaptor, maiko Madoka Nendoroids, a Detective Conan quartet, new Rin & Len, even more Love Live!, Vocaloids Rin & Len, Attack on Titan, Re:Zero, a new Reimu (who looks sooo much better than the old one), Little Witch Academia, Fire Emblem, Kimi no Na wa, Ero Manga-sensei, Granblue Fantasy, Kyoukai no Rinne, Serval from Kemono Friends (so cute!! but why is the African mammal white guys), Saga of Tanya the Evil, Little Armory, Tsuki ni Yorisou Otome no Sahou, BanG Dream!, Is the order a Rabbit?, AND MORE. So much more. Like many cool Nendoroid accessories: tanks for them to ride in, penguin & bear suits, special Halloween and Christmas sets… check ’em out below, and decide what tiny plastic babies to spend your hard-earned money on. • Camilla from Fire Emblem was definitely the darling of Good Smile Company’s booth. There was always quite a crowd around her, so it could be difficult to take a really good look at all the details. Thankfully, we got to set her free from her glass prison and get a 360 peek at this beauty! As I mentioned when we first saw her, I still think the breast sculpt is a little much (though at least it makes more sense than most because of the armor corset), but I’m smitten with everything else about her. The hair sculpt in particular is just stunning. So detailed! Plus she has little cat ears and an adorable tiara. Cat princess of my heart.

  • Good Smile Company/Max Factory’s Fire Emblem line has been slow-moving, but definitely a highlight of their figure production. Tharja and Tiamo are both beautiful, so of course I was quite excited when we saw Camilla, aka purple hair cat ear waifu, at Wonder Festival. I mean, technically she’s not listed as a GSC figure, but Intelligent Systems has never produced anything themselves so… I doubt they’re involved that much in the sculpt and paint. Anyway, Camilla was painted at NYCC this year! And she looks gorgeous. I could do without the floating balloon boobs, but that’s true of almost 50% of the figures out there. Sigh. Her hair is beautiful (clear PVC!!), I love her sky expression and the detail of her sculpt. Now to wait to see how much she’ll hurt my wallet.

  • You may be looking at the title of this post and thinking, “what the heck? Intelligent Systems is a video game company!” Yes, you would be right on that one. But they’re also apparently making figures now. Like every other one out there. Camilia, from Fire Emblem If, was actually at Good Smile Company & Co’s booth so it’s likely that one of them is giving IS a helping hand because Camilia really does look fantastic so far. • Well we’ve already showed you the KanColle figmas, the new Link and Zelda, the Persona 5 figmas, the¬†Bloodborne figma, and Li, but that’s not all that was on hand at WonFest! In things we already knew about land there’s the Kaiba figma, Dark Magician Girl’s figma, Leafa, the new Samus from Metroid Prime 3, Gravity Crow and Gravity Kitten from Gravity Daze 2, the protagonist from Persona 3, Fuchiko (who now has five color variations), R. Tanaka Ichirou from Kyuukyoku Choujin R, Conan from Mirai Shounen Conan, Kogure Kenzou from Seibu Keisatsu, and Majima Goro from Ryuu ga Gotoku. So what was actually new to the show then? Well we’ve got two figures from My Hero Academia with both Midoriya and Bakugou, who both look awesome, female Corrin from Fire Emblem: Fates, Guyver III, Ulala from Space Channel 5, Klaus von Reinherz from Kekkai Sensen, Mumei from Kabaneri, and Ononoki Yotsugi from the Monogatari series. Then we’ve got a few oddities with Asato Miyo and Rikka Shiina from Little Armory and then Nipako that are being made by Tomytec, and three new art additions by FREEing: The Mona Lisa, Scream, and The Actor. Personally I’m most excited for the My Hero Academia figmas and the super odd art additions, but what are you looking forward to? Let us know in the comments! • Sometimes I feel like Wonder Festival should change its name to Nendoroid Festival. We’ve already seen a TON so far tonight: all the boys from Orange Rouge, Kantai Collection, IDOLM@STER, the Li announcement, and the new Link. But there are over 35 more to come. So let’s get right to it! We’ve got a Fate/Stay Night triple threat (Shielder, Caster, & Lancer), MetaKnight, Koutetsujou no Kabaneri, Macross Delta, Mazinger Z, Miku Hatsune, Mahou Tsukai no Yome, Biohazard, Boku no Hero Academia, High School Fleet, Touhou Project, Rockman.exe, Fire Emblem, Deadpool, Suicide Squad, Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku o!, The King of Fighters (Mai, what a surprise!), Thunderbolt Fantasy, Madoka Magica, Girls und Panzer, Saenai Heroine no Sodatekata, and so much more. We also have the results of the Nendoroid request poll, which is why we got Li and Kiso. We’ll also be getting Edward Elric, Erwin Smith, and (finally) Holo! [via Wonderful Hobby Life]

  • Like every year, there are too many Nendoroids. We showed you some: Sakura, Batman & Supes, Deadpool, Meta Knight, Zelda, Hotaru, and of course my boo Kylo. But there’s more. So much more, guys, I wanna cry whenever I look at this gallery. It’s TOO MANY. But, you know, they’re all cute. We’ve got more Kantai Collection Nendos than anyone needs, lots of boys from Orange Rouge including, of course, Touken Ranbu out the butt, the adorable Ainz from Overlord, Nendoroid Co:de outfits for Miku Hatsune, Fire Emblem, Mega Man, and SO MUCH MORE. Because there are so many, we have both the full gallery after the jump AND a full list of everyone (compiled by Stephen, because you all know I am too lazy for that). • Another month, another broadcast of Good Smile Company & co’s upcoming goodies! Like the past few months, there’s only a few figures here, but it’s all pretty new info. The star seemed to be Felia from Comet Lucifer. I was incredibly in love with the sculpt, but I found her lackluster once painted, and I don’t know if these shots are changing my mind. I wanted her to be less… pale? in color scheme. More vibrant and rainbow-like. While the sculpt is gorgeous, I find the finished product kind of bland. Then there’s the figmas! We got the painted sculpt for Cardcaptor Sakura‘s school uniform Tomoyo, along with a preview of Emiya from Unlimited Blade Works: because of all the F/SN characters, people totally want more of him. Last but certainly not least is the Fire Emblem Nendoroid Sheeda! This line has been pretty great, so I was really looking forward to her, and OH MY GOD SHE COMES WITH A PEGASUS. It’s everything I’ve ever wanted in life. [via figsoku & mfc]
