  • At any event they attend, Good Smile Company and their numerous umbrella companies always steal the show. How can they not, with so much firepower? Of course Nendoroids were right at the forefront. Megumin, Minna-Dietlinde Wilcke, lots of KanColle (Hatsuzuki, Kiso, Pola), Caster Extra, Hajime Iwaizumi, and Boba Fett all made an appearance. And of course figmas too! We had Takao, Iowa, and Mumei on display. Max Factory brought their new To LOVEru girl, Yuuki Mikan, and we had FREEing’s bunny Ryuuko Matoi. Last but not least, there’s Phat!’s Parform Hikari Karibuchi and Saber. [UPDATE] Added a few stray figures! [UPDATE 2] Added one last announcement: 22 Niang and 33 Niang from Bilibili! • FREEing is such a strange mix of super large bunny girls, teeny tiny swimsuit girls, random yukata girls, and then the occasional super-detailed high quality figure. Like, I never know what to expect from them… but at the same time I know exactly what to expect. This year we’ve got big ladies from God Eater, Danmachi, Saenai Heroine no Sodatekata, Expelled from Paradise, and Yatterman. Then there are tiny Vocaloids and IDOLM@STER girls. Plus, you know, a regular-sized Asuna and several others, and then (randomly) a super high quality Senritsu no Tatsumaki from One Punch Man. What is this company?? And where are the hundreds of bunny girls announcements? [via Dengeki]

  • Well we’ve already showed you the KanColle figmas, the new Link and Zelda, the Persona 5 figmas, the Bloodborne figma, and Li, but that’s not all that was on hand at WonFest! In things we already knew about land there’s the Kaiba figma, Dark Magician Girl’s figma, Leafa, the new Samus from Metroid Prime 3, Gravity Crow and Gravity Kitten from Gravity Daze 2, the protagonist from Persona 3, Fuchiko (who now has five color variations), R. Tanaka Ichirou from Kyuukyoku Choujin R, Conan from Mirai Shounen Conan, Kogure Kenzou from Seibu Keisatsu, and Majima Goro from Ryuu ga Gotoku. So what was actually new to the show then? Well we’ve got two figures from My Hero Academia with both Midoriya and Bakugou, who both look awesome, female Corrin from Fire Emblem: Fates, Guyver III, Ulala from Space Channel 5, Klaus von Reinherz from Kekkai Sensen, Mumei from Kabaneri, and Ononoki Yotsugi from the Monogatari series. Then we’ve got a few oddities with Asato Miyo and Rikka Shiina from Little Armory and then Nipako that are being made by Tomytec, and three new art additions by FREEing: The Mona Lisa, Scream, and The Actor. Personally I’m most excited for the My Hero Academia figmas and the super odd art additions, but what are you looking forward to? Let us know in the comments! • Miyazawa Model Expo is an event I forget about every year. I can tell you exactly when Wonder Festival and MegaHobby are, but Miyazawa Model? Yeah, it’s the event that time forgot. Or Leah’s brain, whichever. As always, Good Smile Company and their umbrella manufacturers brought a ton of goodies to the event. We have figmas and Nendoroids out the wazoo, including some newly painted and sculpted goodies. Phat! and Max Factory brought many of their gorgeous IDOLM@STER girls, including MF’s Ranko who is so very swoon-worthy. We’ve got giant girls from FREEing (man, Hestia’s cast-off is painfully noticeable), Good Smile’s Link, and tons more. Check them out in the gallery below! [via Digitamin]

  • It’s finally happened, guys! Magazine scans that aren’t 90% MegaHouse and 10% stuff we don’t care about. But you know what they say: be careful what you wish for. Sure, there’s lots of companies here, but there’s almost nothing new. Usually we get at least one or two figure reveals and a lot of new sculpts/paint. This time? Yeah, almost all of this was at Wonder Festival. We have some figmas, FREEing’s Lyrical Nanoha figures (I feel like we haven’t had a scaled Nanoha girl in ages!), lots of Love Live!, some Kantai Collection, and of course lots of MegaHouse-centered pages. Almost all of MH’s stuff is One Piece or Dragonball Z (their new Bulma is painted!), though the new Digimon trading figures did make an appearance. What is up with them? Why a toilet? • Christmas is almost upon us, and while it definitely won’t be white here in NY we’ll at least have some snowy figures to keep us company! FREEing’s giant 1/4 scale Miku Hatsune, who was released only a few months ago, is getting a seasonal repaint. That’s right, we are getting 1/4 scale Snow Miku! I have to say, the first version was an easy pass for me but this one? I love it! Snow Miku gets me every time. It happened with the Dollfie Snow Miku, these damn money-grabbing repaints are such a weakness for me. I just prefer the soft silver and blues of this version, plus the amazing hair gradient. I’d normally assume that this would be an exclusive, considering how much GSC & co hate me, but apparently this is going to be a standard release! Of course that doesn’t make her ¥25,741 pricetag any easier to swallow… [via Yumesano_Parcia’s Twitter]

  • Miyazawa Model Exhibition is one of those “in-between” events. Nestled right in the middle of Summer WonFest and Fall MegaHobby, it’s a chance for companies to… not really show off much new. Let’s be honest, they save the big stuff for the big event, so we don’t get a ton of news from Miyazawa. But Good Smile Company & co brought, like, literally everything they’re working on (that we know about). Just a TON of stuff. Most of it was things we knew about, but we do have some updates: their lovely Felia is finally painted (and, well, no as pretty as I expected), Nendoroid Sheeda from Fire Emblem is finished, figma Yugi showed up, and basically we got a ton of other paint updates. The star of the show was definitely Mebae Miku: hopefully her orders open soon! [via Akibahobby]

  • There are so many figures shown off during Wonder Festival and the various after-events that I often end up overlooking quite a lot of figures that I end up falling for. I mean, when you have all these crazy dynamic figures, it’s easy to pass over a tiny sitting one–especially when she looks pretty unspectacular without paint. Well, that’s exactly what happened with FREEing’s Isla from Plastic Memories! Her hair is just… unf, gorgeous! Twintails so flowing and angular they look like wings. And her face! Ahh! Sadly, everything from the neck down is kind of blah. Basic pose, basic outfit. Is she worth getting? I guess the price point will be the deciding factor–at 1/8 and in such a squished pose, it shouldn’t be too bad. [via Dengeki]
