  • We’ve already shown you Pokemon figmas, Tracer and Genji from Overwatch, some new Fate/Grand Order figmas, Persona 5 figmas, and Utena, but it’s not a Wonder Festival if Max Factory and co don’t shove every possible franchise ever down our throats in poseable 1/12th scale form! When it comes to video games, we’ve got a lot between Crow from Gravity Daze 2, Ulala from Space Channel 5, Gwendolyn from Odin Sphere, Bloodborne and Dark Souls III, Ludens (who knows if this is even a game, but whatever), Kusanagi Kyo and Yagami Iori from King of Fighters, and the painted Metroid Prime 3: Corruption Samus. Then we’ve got like the entire cast of Love Live! Sunshine!! with Matsuura Kanan, Kurosawa Dia, Watanabe You, Tsushima Yoshiko, Kunikida Hanamaru, Ohara Mari, and Kurosawa Ruby so that you can recreate the show yourself a la Robot Chicken. Then continuing on with the anime we’ve got Rem and Ram from Re:Zero aka the same sculpt twice with super minor differences, but everyone’ll only buy Rem since she actually had a storyline unlike Ram, Tanya Degurechaff from Saga of Tanya the Evil (because Japan still has a hard on for little girls dressed up as the enemy from WWI or WWII), Klaus and Leonardo from the new season of Kekkai Sensen, Yukari Akiyama from Girls Un Panzer, and Misako Akeno from High School Fleet. Then from KanColle we’ve got three new entries with Yuudachi, Tokitsukaze, and Fubuki. FREEing also had a few figmas on hand with their massive Iron Fossil from Dariusburst as well as the Bubblegum Crisis Moto Slave and a figma ex:ride of Ray from Kikou Souseki Mospeada. Then over in experimental land we’ve got the amazing sculptor Takayuki Takeya taking on Devilman. Oh, but that’s not all. No. We also got *the best figma of all time*. What is it might you ask? What could be better than stuff like The Thinker? Oh, I’ll tell you. It’s the E233 Series Train. Yes, that’s right, it’s a literal figma of a train. Now everybody better hop on the figma train hypetrain before it leaves the station because woo boy I hope they make more trains to keep on with the ridiculous factor of having a figma train. • Figure prices are skyrocketing, the yen is tanking, figure collectors are being driven out of the hobby. So you know what we need? More figure events! Clearly. That will solve things. So what’s this show? It’s not Wonder Festival, not MegaHobby, not CharaHobby… it’s Hobby Show! The most generically named figure event of all time. Of all time. KanColle was, unsurprisingly, the main focus. We had a LOT from Max Factory: Harbour Princess and Atago both showed up, though unpainted. Figmas of Fubuki & Shimakaze along with the figFIX Mutsu were on display, along with non KanColle figmas: most notably the figma and Plamax Yoshika from Strike Witches. Plus the Metal Gear Solid, Expelled from Paradise,  and Ghost in the Shell figmas! And we have KanColle Nendos too: Akitsushima and anime version Fubuki. Plus an announcement from Aoshima, they’ll be doing a figure of Akitsushima. Of course there were a (few) non-Kantai girls and boys. Most notably, Tomytec is making Ushio to Tora Nendoroids of Ushio Aotsuki and Tora. Kotobukiya brought a handful of figures from Rage of Bahamut, Shining Resonance, Aquarion Logos, Tales of Zestiria, and Mononoke. And last but not least, Aoshima is picking up a gorgeous garage kit of Kongou from Aoki Hagane no Arpeggio: Ars Nova! [via Hobby Search’s Blog]

  • If you actually think about it, Kantai Collection is an absolutely bizarre phenomenon. I mean, it’s ships as cute girls. And not made-up ships, oh no–all of the characters are based on actual WWII ships. It’s already kind of a weird concept (especially since the ships are Japanese/German/Italian), but then there’s the fact that some of them, like Kitakami, carried Kaiten (the Japanese suicide torpedoes). It’s downright morbid, guys. But the combination of cute girls with bizarre weaponry is an instant recipe for success in the anime & figure world, so of course it’s crazy popular. We practically have more figures of the KanColle girls than Sabers, and they’ve only been making them for two years! And there are so many characters that we don’t get a ton of overlap. And the character we’re looking at today, Fubuki, only has one scaled figure! So let’s hit the jump and get started.

  • Figmas: those tiny poseable things that Max Factory and a few other companies make a ton of every year. So without further adieu, here’s a super long list of em. We already told you about Shizuo and Izaya from Durarara!!, but we’ve also got word that FREEing will be doing Celty as well. Also from FREEing we’ve got Akira Yuki and Sarah Bryant from the original Virtua Fighter, Femto, Void, Ubik, Slan, and Conrad from Berserk, Magic Kaito from, well, Magic Kaito, the Vitruvian Man, and what appears to be some sort of cherub, but is way too tiny and also only an outline to be able to tell. Then from Wing we’ve got Masaru Nananakajima from Sexy Commando Gaiden: Sugoi yo!! Masaru-san that we already saw in their previews. From Phat! Company we’ve got Sherlock Holmes, Ninja Slayer, and Yamoto Koki who is also from Ninja Slayer. • Like always, there were way too many Nendoroids at Wonder Festival. There are just so many now, it’s overwhelming. But we already looked at some of the more important ones: Hestia, the Nintendo ones, MegaMan, One Punch Man, the Orange Rouge boys, and Joker. But oh man are there a lot more. So let’s just dive right in! We’ve got some movie based Nendos, like Anna from Frozen and a few more Avengers (Captain America and Iron Man–again). Tons of KanColle too: Shoukaku, Akashi, Akitsushima, Katori, Taihou, Zuikaku, Fubuki, and Ooyodo. Touhou Nendos are coming back with the Komeiji sisters. Plus, Vocaloid Kasane is sculpted. What else? We’ve got Nipako, more Cinderella Girls (Nao Kamiya and Karen Hojo), Alice Cartelet, boy outfits in the Wedding line, and SO MANY MORE. Check them all out after the jump! [UPDATE] It seems like GSC decided to sneak in their new Solid Snake Nendoroid as well. ! [via GSC & Akibahobby]

  • Nendoroids. They’re kind of like bunnies now; you put two in a room and bam, you’ve got like a thousand before you know it, and this year’s Wonder Festival was no different. Good Smile Company and it’s umbrella of companies had over 40 new Nendoroids on hand at this show. Remember when it took them like two years to hit 40 Nendoroids? Yeah, it’s been a while… We’ve already shown you the Majora’s Mask 3D Link, Kirby, and Marth and Sheeda from Fire Emblem, but that was certainly nowhere near all that was on hand. We got to finally see the sculpted and painted version of their Stormtrooper, Celty from Durarara! looks great, and a second Mako from Kill la Kill that is utterly adorable. Then we’ve got Oono Akira from Hiscore Girl, Moritomo Nozomi from The Rolling Girls, Alice Cartelet from Kiniro Mosaic, Patchouli Knowledge from Touhou, Angela Balzac from Rakuen Tsuihou: Expelled From Paradise, Kaffu Chino and Tippy from Gochuumon wa Usagi Desu ka?, a Senbonzakura version Kaito, Beni and Koujaku from DRAMAtical Murder, Eclair Martinozzi from Dog Days”, Kazami Kazuki from Grisaia no Kajitsu, Itsuka Kotori from Date A Live, Hoozuki from Hoozuki no Reitetsu, Yuuki Yuuna (who seems to be everywhere this WonFest), Emiya Shirou from Fate Stay/Night Unlimited Blade Works, Umaru from Umaruchan, and Shiren from Shiren 5+. Over in idol land we’ve got three new iDOLM@STER Cinderalla Girls with Shibuya Rin who is painted, Shimamura Uzuki who is sculpted, and Honda Mio who was announced. We’ve also got SIX new Nendoroids from PriPara with Manaka Lala, Minami Mirei, and Houjou Sophie all painted, a sculpt of Toudou Shion, and announcements of Dorothy and Leona West. Phew! There are also three Nendoroid Code figures (seems to be non-poseable Nendoroids?) of Manaka Lala, Minami Mirei, and Houjou Sophie. Then in magical ship girl land, aka Kantai Collection, we only have five new additions: sculpts of Yamato and Ryuujo and announcements of Northern Princess (Leah’s favorite!), Ooyodo, and our bumbling idiot misfit star of the anime, Fubuki. From IS: Infinite Stratos we’re getting some new additions with Laura Bodewig and Charlotte Dunois, who are both quite cute. We also have three new Nendoroids from Touken Ranbu with Mikazuki Munechika sculpted and announcements for Kashuu Kiyomitsu and Kogitsunemaru. We also have a Nendoroid More announcement of cheerleader outfits, which are pretty adorable. That’s a lot of little Nendoroids… [via Wonderful Hobby Life For You]

  • Man, the Kantai Collection anime just started up and I already have serious figure fatigue. When companies started announcing stuff from it I was amusingly perplexed, and then I ended up right on that KanColle train buying up every figure in sight. I’ve gone pretty quickly from “I must have all these things!” to “oh god not MORE of these girls.” But we’re not anywhere near done with them, so let’s just look at some new sculpts & paint. Yayyy. First up is Amakuni’s Amatsukaze. I really like Amatsukaze but so far I’ve found her figures 1) a little boring-looking or 2) way too expensive, as this will inevitably end up being. There’s also another scaled figure in the mix, Kotobukiya’s Fubuki! Who compared to the other girls has SUCH a boring design. Seriously, Fubuki. Get it together. Last, and my personal favorite of the three, Kotobukiya’s Cu-Poche Inazuma! Do you know how many times I wrote that as Izanami? So so many. Which of these are you looking forward to? [via 2chan]

  • It’s unavoidable at this point: Kantai Collection is taking over. By next Winter Wonder Festival, we will ONLY get Kantai Collection figures. So let’s just get started with this batch, shall we? We’ve got a bunch of Nendoroids: I-401, Kumano, Suzuya & Ryuujo will all be getting chibified, and Amatsukaze is getting a figma. Oh, and Shimakaze is getting… TWO new figmas! Battle damage, and um… a fancy one on a fancy stand? [Edit: the battle damage one is a figure from Max Factory!] Then there’s the figures. Good Smile announced a Shigure Kai Ni & Kouwanseiki (!!) and Kotobukiya will be making a figure of Fubuki, along with a Cu-Poche of Ikazuchi. Toys’ Works is doing Haruna and Yahagi, Vertex revealed a Yuubari, Max Factory showed off a ton of their sculpts (Senkan Re-kyuu, I-19, I-168, and Yamato), we got a peek at GSC’s Musashi, and last but not least… Max Factory’s Wo-Class! And probably more we’ll be adding later on. [via whl4u & 2chan]
