Naruto is, without a doubt, one of the most popular anime & manga series. It spans continents and age groups, and has a staggering amount of merchandise… except for figures. I really have no idea why, but there are almost no scaled figures of the cast. Recently Plex has been doing some work on that front, but they are far from the most reliable of companies, so we really only have MegaHouse to rely on: thankfully, they’re finally moving onto Shippuden outfits!
We saw this version of Sasuke for the first time at Spring MegaHobby, and now he’s painted! In case you couldn’t guess from the header. I’m not much of a Sasuke fan (because oh my god the whole friggin show is about getting Sasuke back, it’s like “let’s save Rukia!” almost longer these shows kill me), but my brother is the world’s most rabid Sasuke fanboy so this figure warms my cold, dead heart more than a little.

Wait just one minute. This is Animate GIRLS Festival. Emphasis on the GIRLS, in case you didn’t get it the first time. A girl event for girl-catered figures only. Which means…. boy figures! No girls allowed! So what is a girl figure doing here?! Wow MegaHouse, get your shit together. You’re making it really easy to regress to elementary school.
Anyway, we’ve seen this figure sculpted already, in magazine scans, but now we’re getting a better look and I’m totally in love. She’s so pretty! It’s great to get a harem-outfit style figure without the main thrust of the design being on “ooh, look how sexy she is! Wow so sexy, much boobs!” Based on the sculpt and her proportions, I am definitely picking up Morgiana–unless they really mess up the paint, or make her an exclusive…

~come on and SLAM and welcome to JAPAN~
Isn’t it weird that so many male-centered animes that are really geared at a more female base involve sports? Free!, Prince of Tennis, Kuroko no Basket. I’m looking forward to their take on football, which I imagine will be called something like My Little Linebacker Can’t Be This Cute or Kawaii no Fumble~
MegaHouse is going all out manly with Taiga Kagami, who is not only buff but also has a freaking awesome action pose. How often does that happen with super manly male figures? Once. It happened once. So MegaHouse, even though I hate basketball (the squeaking shoes oh my god), don’t know the character, and really could care less about the franchise: thank you. You are my hero.

I will freely admit that I’ve never been much of a Naruto fan. Lord knows I’ve tried, because the show is near and dear to my brother’s heart. In fact I have spent countless hours in front of the tv with him watching these kids duke it out, and if there’s one thing I have learned (aside from the fact that the country names are totally inaccurate) it’s that Sasuke is UP TO NO GOOD. But alas, due to Draco In Leather Pants syndrome (fair warning, that’s a TVtropes link) he has tons and tons of fangirls.
So, Sasuke. He’s bad. Bad to the bone! And MegaHouse is making a figure of him to go along with their Shippuden Naruto, who we’ve kindly included a picture of in the gallery… granted it’s not a great picture, since there’s tons of flash, but it’s the only event one we have at the moment. I actually have their older G.E.M Kakashi and adore him, and this Sasuke looks pretty badass for a rough sculpt! I wonder what ninja’s next… fingers crossed for Kankuro! Yeah yeah, I know it’s never gonna happen.

Magazine scans always take me by surprise. Well, most of the time anyway. It’s funny, because I know they are the same night every month yet somehow I forget! So I’m just sitting around, minding my own business and indulging in sappy tv shows when BAM suddenly scans!
This month we’ve got a whole lot from MegaHouse, including a brand new boy! To be honest it’s not the most action-packed month but of course there are lots of goodies to be had. Check them all out after the jump!

Another week, another roundup! What happened to last week’s, you ask? My dog ate it.
You probably don’t know this but I tend to write the intro for these after everything else is done, and am terrified that one day I will forget and one of my stupid placeholder sentences like “some words” or “a few butts” will pop up on the front page instead. But today is not that day! Today is the day I ramble because we have really slim pickings. Sure, there are some nice figures, but it seems like none of the big companies came out to play. No scaled figures from Alter, Kotobukiya, Good Smile Company, Max Factory, even Phat! or Daiki. But of course there are some nice figures–check them out after the jump!

The first month of the new year means the first magazine scans of the new year! You’d think they would be a bit lackluster because companies are gearing up for their Wonder Festival reveals–but you’d be mistaken! There are many lovely ladies here as usual, including a rather stellar batch from Kotobukiya and a extra scary Cattleya, along with some nasty exclusive surprises. Check them out after the jump!
[UPDATE] Updated with a few stragglers.

December was (obviously) the last month of 2012, and boy was it a doozy. Even with the massive amount of delays that came late in the year it was just totally jam-packed with releases. In fact, this might actually be our biggest month of orders… ever. Well, maybe excluding July of 2010, where we had an entire wall of loot from SDCC. But in terms of imports, yeah, it’s a bit overwhelming! So hit the jump to check out all the goodies.

The first few weeks of the new year are not very exciting for figure collectors. Almost all figure companies go on vacation until the 4th, and when they come back they’re not exactly at the top of their game. Releases come out at a trickle, and they tend to save the big figures for later in the month when we’ve all recovered from the holiday rush.
But of course that doesn’t mean we have nothing for you this week! We’ve got a decent lineup of figures, ranging from very big to very small. Girls with swords, guys with guns, Vocaloids with headphones, we’ve got ‘em all! Check them out after the jump.
