Gilgamesh Archive

  • Few things go together as well (and often) as Good Smile Company and the Fate/Stay Night franchise. And of course they had a massive amount at this Wonder Festival, so let’s just dive right in! We’re getting Nendoroids of Merlin, Miyamoto Musashi, Ishtar, and Elizabeth Bathory, along with figmas of Rider of Black, Jeanne d’Arc Alter, and Saber of Red. Onto my favorite, the scales! Good Smile will be giving us Altria Pendragon (who looks stunning), Mash Kyrielight: Heroic Spirit Formal Dress Ver (what a short and concise name!), Mash Kyrielight ~Dangerous Beast~, and Altria Pendragon on a motorcycle. From Max Factory we will get Jeanne d’Arc Alter Dress Version and a soft vinyl Paul Bunyan (who is a Berserker–were they inspired by IT?). Last but not least, Orange Rouge is giving us two boys: Gilgamesh and the original Lancer! A little something for everyone, no? [via whl4u]

  • Nendoroid production moves so quickly nowadays that it seems like Gilgamesh has been in progress for years. Usually we get a reveal at Wonder Festival and then a few months later they are finished and up for order. But that wasn’t the case with everyone’s favorite pompous Servant: he was announced at Summer WonFest, sculpted at Winter WonFest, and then painted a month and a half later. So, was the wait worth it? I’m not personally a Gilgamesh fan but he looks pretty great! I mean, look at all the little weaponry. Totally worth it for that alone. And his smug face! Totally putting that on every Nendoroid I own. Of course I’m sure his special effect part will make him expensive, but for Fate/Stay Night fans high prices are (sadly) nothing new. Sigh, being a Saber fan is suffering. Gilgamesh goes up for order on the 7th, which means we should also find out who is next in the line soon–I am still hoping for Rider! [via Kahotan’s Blog]

  • If they are at an event, you can be sure that Good Smile Company will have a display that outshines everyone else’s, either by the awesomeness of their figures or by the sheer number of them. Anime Japan is a tiny event, so I think they win on both fronts this time! They had their Mikasa Ackerman on display, who we saw at WonFest, but this time with her amazing base–so cool! Also out was Phat! Company’s Satsuki and GSC’s Honoka Kousaka, who we last saw sculpted at WonFest. And of course, a whole lot of Nendoroids: Gilgamesh, who was just previewed, KanColle’s Kaga, Iona from Ars Nova, and a colored Chitoge Kirisake from Nisekoi. [via Kahotan’s Twitter]

  • It has been a while since we have covered a full NicoNico broadcast from Good Smile on the site! Mainly because only one or two items of interest pop up at a time, but this month there are tons of Nendoroid goodies–almost all of them Nendoroid-related. In fact, we have three new painted Nendo prototypes: Gilgamesh and Rin Tohsaka from Fate/Stay Night and Miss Monochrome! Ryuuko Matoi’s Nendo popped up as well, though she is already up for order, along with the figma version which is looking awesome. We are also going to be getting some new additions to the Nendorid More line: no reveals yet, but it seems like they might be faces! [via 2chan]

  • There are so many Nendos at WonFest that they don’t leave time for chit-chatty intros, we’re just gonna dive in. We saw some already: Kill la Kill, Kantai Collection, Sakura, Avengers, Snake, and the new Racing Miku. There’s a whole lot more of course: art for Araragi, the sculpt for Oshino, and Tsubasa painted to start. We’ve got a Titania version Asuna, Nagisa Momoe, Link, Yukari Yakumo, Aoba, a new Rin Tohsaka along with sculpted Gilgamesh, Chitoge Kirisake from Nisekoi, a new Miss Monochrome (along with the first one painted), Black Gold Saw, Saki Miyanaga from Saki, Mayu Shimada from Wake Up, Girls!, Nana Kazuki from God Eater 2 (and a painted Alisa), Jeanne Kaguya d’Arc from Nobunaga the Fool, and Maiko Madoka (which is different from Yukata how?). Oh, and there’s a new Miku. Then we’ve got the announcements! Chloe Lemaire & Shiinakokomi from Girlfriend, Iona from Aoki Hagane no Arpeggio: Ars Nova, Kosaki Onodera, Armin Arlet from AoT, a new Soniko in a bikini, Sugiintou from Rozen Maiden, and Saori Takeba from Girls und Panzer. Whew! [via GSC & 2chan]

  • Good Smile & co are notorious for giving away WAY too much in their Wonder Festival previews. Usually their new big deal scaled sculpt is revealed, along with a ton of Nendoroids. Thankfully, it seems like they’ve (finally) gotten the hint and cut down on what they are teasing this year. In fact, most of it is stuff we know about: Nendoroids Gilgamesh & Aoba are sculpted, their scaled Mikasa is painted, and Honoka Kousaka is sculpted. As for the new, we’ve got Nendoroids of Ryuuko Matoi (shocking, right? who would have guessed!) and Kirisake Chitoge from Nisekoi, along with a set of Girls und Panzer Petits. And, that’s it! Some nice stuff to whet our appetite, but no spoils for the inevitable big reveal. Much better, GSC! [via Kahotan’s Blog]

  • We knew there would be at least one new Fate/Stay Night Nendoroid at Wonder Festival since Mikatan had already teased Saber Alter, but it seems like we are getting way more than I expected! Of course the Saber Extra Nendoroid, which recently went up for order, is here as well, but there are two new announcements–Saber Bride… and Gilgamesh! A GUY! And as you can see in the other side of the display, it’s more than just Nendoroids. Good Smile Company or one of their umbrella companies (please be Max Factory) is picking up the garage kit I adore of Pajama Saber, and it seems like they also have the new sculpt out for figma Archer! We’ll update with new pics as soon as we ha have them. [UPDATE] Updated with clearer pictures! [via Figure/GK]

  • While the girls of the Fate/Stay Night franchise get a LOT of love, the boys seem mostly left out. Well, that’s been changing recently, but fan-favorite Gilgamesh seems left on the wayside. I mean, Kirtisugu got a figma even! So Gilgamesh not getting a figma (at least not that we know about), but he is going to be part of Bandai’s Chogokin line. I’m sure fans will be very pleased with this announcement! [UPDATE] We have a much clearer photo courtesy of labor_alfons. [via 665yobi]

  • At this past MegaHobby Expo, MegaHouse showed off the art for their Petit Chara Land Fate/Zero set. It’s finished now, and like all of the sets based on Nitro+’s art they are super adorable! We’ve got lots of boys: Rider, Waver Velvet, Emiya Kiritsugu, Lancer, and Gilgamesh. And then… there’s Saber. Not one, but 3 different versions of her. I’m using “different versions” pretty loosely here, since they all have the same outfit and pose, just slightly different weapons. I’m a bit disappointed that they didn’t do Irisviel and Caster, but oh well. Each box contains 10 figures, which means you should get some dupes. Individual boxes are only ¥660 but a case will run you a steep ¥6,600 (no discounts?!). They will be released in November, a pretty packed month already. Pre-order At: AmiAmi | Hobby Search
