  • Prize figures have always been appealing: you get a cheap version of a popular character, often in an outfit that we’d never see in scales. Plus, the quality gets better and better on them every year. With rising scaled figure prices and a worsening exchange rate, prize figures are looking better than ever, so it’s a good thing the upcoming lineup of them seems amazing! We have all the regulars out and about: Evangelion, Kantai Collection, Sword Art Online, Fate/Grand Order, Bakemonogatari, Miku, Lupin, and many many more. The noodle topper ones really seem to be taking the prize world by storm: I have a few and can vouch for how amazingly fun they are to display all sorts of odd ways. Any of them catch your eye? • MegaHouse is absolutely the most consistent manufacturer at any event. You can guess before seeing anything what 90% of their figures will be. We’ve got One Piece, Digimon, Pokemon, Gintama, Naruto, Tiger & Bunny, Kuroko no Basket. Of course they always throw us a few curveballs (no Dragon Ball Z?!) and at least one pleasant surprise. This time around it’s C.C from Code Geass! Of course her dress is coming off because recently MH has been incapable of making a female character who isn’t halfway disrobed or busting out of her top. Android 18, Chi Chi, now C.C…. sigh….. she’s sexy enough already! [via girlshobby]

  • I will be honest: when it comes to Wonder Festival, I never really look forward to MegaHouse’s booth. They tend to save all their good stuff for their own event… which is MegaHobby! And that time has finally come. The star of the show was, of course, the amazing Suzaku & Lelouch duo they teased earlier. And my how beautiful these sculpts are. Of course they had all the usuals: Naruto (including the adorable Naruto Girls line), Dragon Ball Z, Gintama, Gundam, One Piece, and my new favorite from them… Zatch Bell. Check ’em all out in the gallery below! [UPDATE] They have also announced a new Pokemon figures: Ash with Greninja and Pikachu! [via AmiAmi’s Twitter & Dengeki]

  • Ah, MegaHouse. I love to hate you. They make a mix of things I don’t care about at all (the anatomy on One Piece ladies continues to bamboozle me) and things I want more than life itself (Pokemon, Digimon, Sailor Moon). Then they go and have middling quality, outrageous prices, and make half their stuff exclusive! MegaHouse, you’re killing me. And once again at WonFest: they’re killing me! The bikini Bikini Warriors girls (now that is a strange phrase) are so gorgeous. And, of course, will be exclusive. We also have the usual Naruto, One Piece, Gintama, & Dragonball Z, along with a new announcement: the boys from Ensemble Stars!. [via amiami]

  • MegaHouse is the company that runs MegaHobby Expo, but somehow they’re always the company I’m least excited to cover. I mean, they had some great stuff (like the Pokemon and Digimon figures we already saw) but overall they’re just kind of… lackluster? There are some kind of cool announcements, like the fact that we’re getting bikini figures of the Bikini Warriors girls–they showed off Mage and Paladin! But overall? Yeah, not too pumped. I think that’s because there is a big focus on shows like One Piece and Gintama, which are just not my jam. But if you are a fan, this was a great event! We have announcements for quite a few new P.O.Ps, including (another) bikini Nami, a lounging Sanji, and Trafalgar Law… as a girl? There’s also a new Bulma–after years of Bulma figure drought, we’re now (happily) drowning in her! Also the reveal of a Sailor Saturn Petit Chara Deluxe. Funny that they’re doing her before any of the other senshi! Last but not least, we’re getting figures of┬áRelena Peacecraft and Heero Yuy from Alpha x Omega! Aw yeah Gundam Wing. MegaHouse will also be making Asuka Sugou from Shin Seiki GPX Cyber Formula. [via figsoku]

  • It’s time for your monthly mediocre magazine scans! It’s been well over a year, and I’m not over how lackluster they are now. Because once again, it’s almost all MegaHouse! Okay, we do have some Volks stuff this time, including a brand-new Saber Bride for their overpriced CharaGumin line that makes me angry. It’s like “wow, that sculpt is awesome… too bad it’s going to be insanely expensive and look terrible without lots of paint detail work!” SIGH. Okay, the MegaHouse stuff! Most excitingly, Pokemon’s James is painted to go along with Jessie. And he has a little Meowth! Plus, he’s a standard release (thank god). We also have figures from Gintama, One Piece, Gundam Reconguista in G, Shinrabanshou Chocolate, and more. Check them all out in the gallery! [via takezo1101]

  • We’ve already seen some of the juicier tidbits from Tamashii Nations (Sailor Moon, Pokemon, Ranma 1/2, Digimon) but of course they had a ton more! This is Bandai we’re talking about, one of the most prolific brands, and they brought figures in full force. Can you think of a license Bandai owns? There were probably figures from it at this event. Kantai Collection, One Piece, Saint Seiya, Kamen Rider, Gintama, Precure, Mega Man, Macross, Doraemon.. it’s all there, and tons more! The focus definitely seemed to be on Dragonball Z (not surprising since it has a new show), with a massive amount of merchandise. Including dead Goku! Which I am seriously excited about. No girls though, which is… unfortunate, but lots of muscley dudes. We also got the surprise (text-based) announcement that they will be doing Star Wars S.H.Figuarts–including Jabba the Hutt! • After a nice, diverse month of magazine scans that covered tons of companies last month, we’re back to “all about MegaHouse.” Sigh, and I thought a real change was coming! Apparently not, because it’s 99% MegaHouse this month. Thankfully, there’s some really exciting news: not only have they painted Jessie from Pokemon, they finally unveiled James (and a Meowth to go with him!). Aw yis! These are basically my dream figures. We also have that teased Bulma sculpted, and it looks like the poor dear broke her back. Then there’s… exactly what you would expect. One Piece, Gintama, Dragonball Z, IDOLM@STER… not a lot of surprises here. Though they do show off some of the MegaHobby exclusives, which will include a white version of Amakuni’s alternate Asmodeus. Oh joy. [via takezo1101]

  • Jump Festa is one of many excuses for MegaHouse to show off their male figures. Sometimes I think they make up events just to show off buff guys, and the occasional scantily clad girl thrown in there. They seem to have an endless supply of dudes, much to the delight of their many fans. And oh man did they bring the goods to Jump Festa 2014. Bandai jumped (haha, get it? JUMPED?) in too with some goodies of their own for even more manly man-ness. We’ve got all the usual suspects: Tiger & Bunny, One Piece (Rebecca, Trafalgar Law, Red-Haired Shanks, Baby 5, Kaku, & more!), Gintama (Tsukuyo, Gintoki Sakata, Okita Sougo), and Kuroko no Basket (Taiga Kagami, Daiki Aomine, Shintarou Midorima). Oh, and there’s a new Naruto G.E.M: Kakashi! Wait… don’t they already have 2 figures of him? What about Sakura? Itachi? Anyone other than Kakashi?! [via Hobbylog]

  • Every year, MegaHouse is without a doubt the most disappointing company at Wonder Festival. They’re one of the biggest PVC producers, yet year after year they bring nothing new. You know what new figures they had this year? Umi Kousaka from IDOLM@STER Million Live!, which we’re not allowed to show you. LITERALLY THAT IS IT. Oh, and announcements for Melda Dietz and Juuzo Okita from Uchuu Senkan Yamato 2199. Wow. Of course they had lots of figures we’ve already seen from Dragon’s Crown, One Piece, Devil Summoner and more that you can check out in the gallery! Meanwhile I’ll just sit over here and sulk. *grumble grumble* [via Akibahobby]
