@GeekeryDo: @mikeyturvey I agree with you. I stopped reading them because I got tired of it, though @Sir_Narwhal is correct that it's normal for comics.

@GeekeryDo: @Sir_Narwhal @mikeyturvey yeh but that's just one arc and it's easy to read it all since, as you said, it's been put together like that.

@NFern0: @Sir_Narwhal Sounds like (ohoho) specialist equipment. Black Friday is more mass consumer oriented isn't it?

God Eater Burst Archive

God Eater has only gotten a bit of attention in the figure world, and from a pretty mediocre figure manufacturer: PLUM. But you can expect that to change now, and fast, because God Eater 2 has been picked up by Good Smile Company! And we all know how much they like to milk things to death. They’re announcing two things right off the bat, the first of which is a Nendoroid of Alisa Ilinichina Amiella.
Then we’ve got an already sculpted (but not painted) figure of Ciel Alencon who looks totally awesome. The pose, the weapon, the ruffles. I need this figure right now.

AlphaMax has been creeping up the list of my favorite companies for a while now, and I think they just firmly solidified a spot in the top five with a rather massive announcement of new goodies. There’s a lot here, so we’re just going to dive right in! Some of the ladies from the most recent batch of magazine scans were out on display, including Velvet Batrass (my new figure crush) and Iris Hartley. Then we have a lovely Saber Lily, along with the surprise announcement of Alisa Ilinichina Amiella from God Eater Burst! The PLUM version was nice, but this one is just so much more dynamic.
Then we have the art announcements: several of them are NSFW, but due to some glare you can check them out in the gallery without fear of your boss yelling at you. Actually you probably shouldn’t be reading us at the office at all, get back to work! First on the art front are two original characters, and then we have a bridal version of Nozomi Watase, whose maid version was one of Native’s first figured! I saved the best for last: they’re taking on one of Maxima/Sakuya/now Viola from Shining Ark’s amazing purple scythe getup. I NEED THIS RIGHT NOW.

PLUM is not the biggest company, but they’ve been steadily improving recently and have produced some very nice figures! Most of what they had on hand for WonFest was old: their Okarin, Nymph and Kanon. But we finally get to see Yuu Fujimori from the front–adorable!
They had one new girl on hand, but my god if she isn’t the cutest thing I’ve ever laid eyes on. It’s Yoshino from Date A Live. Ahh need!

With 3 days to go until Wonder Festival, companies are rushing to finish up their figures from Summer Wonder Festival so they can announce a whole slew of new ones for the event. PLUM is up next with the sculpt for their Kanon Daiba, whose art we saw over the summer. She looks great so far, though I do worry about the weight of that huge canon!
I can’t wait to see her painted finally, a long-awaited companion for PLUM’s majestic Alisa. I wonder if we’ll be getting any more girls from the series?

At Tamashii Nations we saw Bandai’s expanded D-Arts line, including the lovely Alisa Ilinichina Amiella from God Eater Burst! Not exactly a license you’d expect them to pick up, but it is nice to see some variety in the line. Alisa looks really great, with some pretty seamless joints and a fantastic paint job. This is way higher quality than what I would normally expect from Bandai!
Sadly, that comes at a price. Alisa will retail for ¥4,500. She’s not exactly big either at only 5.5″, and she comes out in March. However I think the giant weapon kind of makes up for that! Expect her to go up very soon.

We’ve looked at the Lelouch, Sailor Moon, Guilty Gear, and Cure Peace S.H.Figuarts & D-Arts, but to no one’s surprise there were a ton more on hand at Tamashii Nations 2012. They had Hakumen from BlazBlue, Nagisa Motomiya from AKB0048, Mei Misaka and Izumi Akazawa from Another, Golden Darkness, Alicia from God Eater Burst, the Durarara!! boys we saw at Dengeki’s 20th, and Aoi Ichikawa from Hikounin Sentai Akibaranger. Check them all out and more in the gallery!

You know, we’ve been really up to date with our loot posts recently, getting them done right after boxes come in. Well, technically we got to July as soon as possible. AmiAmi decided to combine half of our July with our August stuff–the end of August to boot, so we had to wait a whole month for some of these beauties! Of course, we’re never really in a huge rush to get figures–we prefer to get them in small batches, so I can open one at a time and admire them all individually. So who did we get in our July order? Hit the jump to find out!

It was almost a year ago that PLUM announced their Alisa from God Eater Burst. She actually was released a few days ago to rave reviews, and it seems like PLUM is going to continue the line with Kanon Daiba! Girls with giant weapons are always something that I like, and Kanon looks to be quite cute as well (as opposed to Alisa’s more blatantly sexy vibe). Hopefully she comes out as well as the first release!

Another week, another batch of beautiful ladies! In an odd turn of events, this week we have exclusively scaled girls–no boys, no Nendoroids, no figmas. However, that doesn’t mean there is nothing good in here (unless, of course, you only collect boys, Nendoroids & figmas). We’ve got a giant bunny girl, a giant weapon, a sort-of-giant loli, and a not-so-giant beach girl, along with tons more. So hit the jump and let’s get started!

Plum is still a rather new company, and they’re still searching for a stand-out figure. Their past releases have been passable with some notable missteps (like the awkward cast-off on their Nymph). Their newest figure of Astraea shows promise, but it doesn’t exactly have the wow-factor that screams “buy me!” However, they’ve recently picked up a license that could bring that spark that’s been lacking so far–God Eater Burst.
They have shown off some art of Alisa, which has all the makings of a popular figure–sexy girl in an awesome, complicated and revealing outfit wielding a damn huge weapon. I’m really hoping that they can pull it off, because this is one figure I would definitely be compelled to buy. Also, I’d really like those boots in real life.
