  • We’ve already seen some of Good Smile’s Wonder Festival goodies like the Cardcaptor announcement, Saber Alter, and Link. But wait, there’s more. A lot more. Not as much KanColle as I would expect, since it’s just Yuudachi. IM@S’ Uzuki and Mio are sculpted/painted, as are Megumi Katou, Alisa Ilinichina Amiella, and Livie Collete. We’ve got a LOT of brand-new things. Including, of course, a new Miku, along with a new Monogatari announcement: Ononoki Yotsugi. We’re getting Izumi Shimomura from Ajin, Rou Chenfa from Chaos Dragon, and Mira Yurizaki from Dimension W. Check them all out in the gallery! [EDIT] The pumpkin Miku is Nendoroid Co:De, not a scale. Boo, hiss! [via Wonder Hobby]

  • FREEing really had a bit of everything for everyone this year. Say you like their stock lines… like the Yukata girls! Well they’ve added Aegis from Persona 3, Momo & Golden Darkness, and Girls und Panzer‘s Yukari & Miho (who are also getting non-yukata figures). Or are bunny girls more your style? Well there are TONS. Yoko (yes THAT Yoko, finally), Eleonora Viltaria from Madan no Ou to Vanadis, God Eater’s Ciel, Index (what??), and Ultraman’s Zetton. Just want a regular, non-gimmicky figure. Take a gander at their gorgeous Fate Harlaown, Momoka Shijou from Mahou Sensou, Guilty Gear’s Ramlethal Valentine, their now-painted Miku Hatsune or their Yuuki Yuuna. That’s… just a lot of figures. Good job, FREEing! [UPDATE] One more bunny girl, Nono from Top o Nerae 2!! [via GSC’s Facebook & Akibahobby]

  • Good Smile once again came out swinging at Wonder Festival with a truly amazing number of figures, most of which already look fantastic! The one not-surprise is the painted Kiss-Shot, who we already knew was coming, but that doesn’t make me any less excited. I can finally finish my Monogatari set! Then we’ve got all the “really real news.” Least surprisingly, there will be two new Sabers: a second Saber Bride (maybe with a zipped-up dress?) and a Saber Alter designed by huke that looks out of this world amazing. That armor! There’s also, of course, a new Miku. Their Homura to match that dynamic Madoka is sculpted, and we have an (art) update of Sawamura Spencer Eriri. Out of left field there’s a Puzzle & Dragon figure of Hera-Ur, along with Utaha Kasumigaoka from Saenai Heroine no Sodatekata and PriPara‘s Lala Manaka. Announcements? We’ve got those too! They’ll be making a Devil Version of Amira from Shingeki no Bahamut, Kaori Miyazono from Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso, and finally Collete Livie from God Burst. But what about Kantai Collection? Well there’s a weird bust of Kongou and also a painted figure of Shigure. Phew! [UPDATE] As mentioned in the comments, they’ll be doing a Medusa version of Nadeko! [via GSC]

  • I used to adore Orchid Seed. I loved them as much as I loved Native, but now it seems both manufacturers are going downhill: production has slowed to a crawl, sculpt quality is dropping, and they keep picking tackier and tackier art. Thankfully there is a savior on the horizon: AlphaMax. It’s hard to imagine the company that 5 short years ago was churning out nothing but Tamaki variants would one day rule the world of ecchi figures. Want proof? Check out their Maya. Yeah, perfection. And everything they brought to MME is AMAZING. That Tony Taka bride, uhnf. They also have the painted sculpt of Kizuki Aruchu’s figure, the sculpt for Maria Saotome (who will go well with Native’s Chie–bathtub buddies!), and three new announcements: Marie Mamiya & Hazuki Kuryuu from Lewdness ~Vita sexualis~ (who comes up with these names?!?), and an original character based on the art of Kurehito Misaki. • Well, it seems like we’re not really getting magazine scans this month. Which is a-ok with me, since they are by far my least favorite type of feature to do. I’m guessing most of the figures featured in it were repeats from Wonder Festival so the scanners decided we really didn’t need to see most of it: however, a few brand-new figures have sneaked through. Like this, which is yet another figure of Alisa Ilinichina Amiella from God Eater Burst. This time it’s a swimsuit version of her, and while I adore the body sculpt the vest and hat are kind of confusing. Who wears a beret to the beach all casual like it’s no big deal? Probably a woman who also brings a huge, deadly sword and leans on it like it’s just a piece of furniture. [via Figure/GK]

  • God Eater has only gotten a bit of attention in the figure world, and from a pretty mediocre figure manufacturer: PLUM. But you can expect that to change now, and fast, because God Eater 2 has been picked up by Good Smile Company! And we all know how much they like to milk things to death. They’re announcing two things right off the bat, the first of which is a Nendoroid of Alisa Ilinichina Amiella. Then we’ve got an already sculpted (but not painted) figure of Ciel Alencon who looks totally awesome. The pose, the weapon, the ruffles. I need this figure right now. [via Kahotan’s Twitter]

  • AlphaMax has been creeping up the list of my favorite companies for a while now, and I think they just firmly solidified a spot in the top five with a rather massive announcement of new goodies. There’s a lot here, so we’re just going to dive right in! Some of the ladies from the most recent batch of magazine scans were out on display, including Velvet Batrass (my new figure crush) and Iris Hartley. Then we have a lovely Saber Lily, along with the surprise announcement of Alisa Ilinichina Amiella from God Eater Burst! The PLUM version was nice, but this one is just so much more dynamic. Then we have the art announcements: several of them are NSFW, but due to some glare you can check them out in the gallery without fear of your boss yelling at you. Actually you probably shouldn’t be reading us at the office at all, get back to work! First on the art front are two original characters, and then we have a bridal version of Nozomi Watase, whose maid version was one of Native’s first figured! I saved the best for last: they’re taking on one of Maxima/Sakuya/now Viola from Shining Ark’s amazing purple scythe getup. I NEED THIS RIGHT NOW. [via baidu]

  • PLUM is not the biggest company, but they’ve been steadily improving recently and have produced some very nice figures! Most of what they had on hand for WonFest was old: their Okarin, Nymph and Kanon. But we finally get to see Yuu Fujimori from the front–adorable! They had one new girl on hand, but my god if she isn’t the cutest thing I’ve ever laid eyes on. It’s Yoshino from Date A Live. Ahh need! [via Akibahobby]

  • With 3 days to go until Wonder Festival, companies are rushing to finish up their figures from Summer Wonder Festival so they can announce a whole slew of new ones for the event. PLUM is up next with the sculpt for their Kanon Daiba, whose art we saw over the summer. She looks great so far, though I do worry about the weight of that huge canon! I can’t wait to see her painted finally, a long-awaited companion for PLUM’s majestic Alisa. I wonder if we’ll be getting any more girls from the series? [via Tommy_Feb’s Twitter]

  • At Tamashii Nations we saw Bandai’s expanded D-Arts line, including the lovely Alisa Ilinichina Amiella from God Eater Burst! Not exactly a license you’d expect them to pick up, but it is nice to see some variety in the line. Alisa looks really great, with some pretty seamless joints and a fantastic paint job. This is way higher quality than what I would normally expect from Bandai! Sadly, that comes at a price. Alisa will retail for ¥4,500. She’s not exactly big either at only 5.5″, and she comes out in March. However I think the giant weapon kind of makes up for that! Expect her to go up very soon. [via Tamashii Nations]
