  • MegaHouse is absolutely the most consistent manufacturer at any event. You can guess before seeing anything what 90% of their figures will be. We’ve got One Piece, Digimon, Pokemon, Gintama, Naruto, Tiger & Bunny, Kuroko no Basket. Of course they always throw us a few curveballs (no Dragon Ball Z?!) and at least one pleasant surprise. This time around it’s C.C from Code Geass! Of course her dress is coming off because recently MH has been incapable of making a female character who isn’t halfway disrobed or busting out of her top. Android 18, Chi Chi, now C.C…. sigh….. she’s sexy enough already! [via girlshobby]

  • Ah, Flare: they make your faves but never paint them, and when they do, they’re insanely expensive. Can you tell I have a love/hate relationship with them? They seem to be moving at a solid pace with some of the announcements from last WonFest, though: Saber Bride and Gwendolyn are both painted, and we have a Nier update. Sadly, no news on Asuka or Blindi, but we do have some new figures: Golden Darkness, a new Elin, and Odin Sphere minis! [via amiami & pederisan]

  • FREEing is always up and down in terms of quality, but man do they make a lot of things I want. We’ll start with their bunny girls: did you think the long line of 1/4 scale Infinite Stratos girls was the end? Nope, they are doing… a second line, with all the girls, standing in bunny costumes. So it’s different. There’s also a pair of Tony Taka bunnies (!!), their bunny Yoko, Koneko Toujou, Chitoge, and Index. Yukata girls? We got ’em! The Steins;Gate and Girls und Panzer lines are sculpted, along with Aegis. Oh, and there’s a creepy Mikage Kuroki from Maid-san to Boin Damashii. There’s tons of new stuff, like a Miku with super awesome hair, a swimsuit Miku & Luka, and a lovely Isla from Plastic Memories. And then we have a… lot of announcements. Hestia, Luka, Angela Balzac, Meiko Shiraki, and Nodoka Haramura. Want more bunny girls? Brace yourselves. They’ll be doing Hakufu Sonsaku and Shiryuu Chouun from Ikkitousen (FINALLY continuing that line), Momo and Golden Darkness, Yuki Nagato, and Alisa from God Eater. Damn! • It’s rare to find a figure of a young, childhood-aged character without it being way, way too sexualized for their age (looking at you, Orchid Seed and Ro-Kyu-Bu figures). Which is a really disturbing statement but, well, here we are. In the land of lolicon. So imagine my utter delight when I saw a figure of a young character that wasn’t half-naked or in a bunny outfit. Oh, happy day! This is Wing’s “Childhood Days” figure of Golden Darkness, and seeing that they gave us the baby Sonico abomination my hopes were certainly not high for this to be at all tasteful. But wow, is she cute. The happy face, her flowing hair–I can even get past the fact that the bottom half of her dress is sheer. Though really, why. I don’t know if it’s enough cuteness to get me to push the pre-order button, but it’s mighty close! [via Wing’s Blog]

  • As a lover of demon girls, I have of course been looking forward to Aquamarine’s Golden Darkness sculpt. It’s quite different from other figures of her, featuring demon horns and a more devious expression and pose. She’s painted, and well… I have mixed feelings! For one, I thought the sculpt was more clothed. Her outfit is a little more skimpy than I expected, which is really my own fault. I thought there was, like, a slip or bodysuit under all that strapyness! But I still adore the sculpt: her hair is so dynamic, and I love the flow at the bottom of her “dress.” I guess my final decision will depend on the price and release date! No September, please. • Aquamarine doesn’t produce a lot of figures, but there’s no doubt that they can do it well… when they try. Laura from Infinite Stratos is a good example of when they don’t try. It’s not pretty. But for the most part, they make well-sculpted figures of characters that don’t get a ton of attention. And while most of their Miyazawa lineup was (unsurprisingly) kind of old stuff, they did have one shiny new sculpt: their amazing Golden Darkness! The horns, the hair, the pose. I’m so smitten. • Wing definitely brought more announcements than actual figures to this Wonder Festival. I mean, where is my weddng Ignis?! The world may never know. But we did have the Bunny Muramasa, along with another character from the series: Nisei Muramasa! Of course that’s just not enough Nitro+ for Wing. We are getting, FINALLY, a figure of Saya from Saya no Uta! SO EXCITED. And also their Alice (loli form) from Queen’s Gate. Wow, that brings back memories. As for the other two sculpts, we have an almost-too-cute kid version of Golden Darkness and their Ignis is sculpted after (what feels like) a long wait. They’ll also be making a maid version of Charlotte Dunois, and a no-image announcement for dress version of Purple Heart. Guys, can we stop with the Purple & Black Heart? I want Green Heart so bad. • Like usual, Wing’s focus this Wonder Festival was on… boobs! Shocking, right? Their teacher/secretary/whatever job she’s dressed inappropriately for is painted, and there’s the finished prototype for the bodacious Queen Muse from Grand Knights History. There’s an announcement for two bunny girl figures, both from Nitro+: Ignis and Muramasa! If butts are more your thing, the Comiket mascot is finally painted! Want something less… titillating? Perhaps their Golden Darkness or Hana Midorikawa from Kangoku Gakuen is more your style. [via whl4u & Good Smile English]

  • I wonder if putting up WonFest teasers is like a peer pressure thing. You’ve got these small companies with like 3 figures in total, are they just huddling around saying ‘everyone else is doing it! We have to put them uuup!’ Cause that is kind of what it seems like. Take Vertex, a small company with ONE release under their belt–they have teasers for 4 figures. Whut. Three of these are actually full reveals, which as you probably know I HATE. Leave us some mystery! We’ve got the swimsuit figures of Golden Darkness and Mea Kurosaki who look absolutely adorable, and the sculpt for Ikaruga which, while scantily clad, looks SO much better than the Phat! Company one. Then there’s a teaser glimpse at Ririchiyo Shirakiin, which makes about half of their announced figures in this little batch. And the best news? They hind that Mitsuru will be there as well! [via Vertex]
