  • <p><a href="http://www.plastikitty.com/?attachment_id=82805" rel="attachment wp-att-82805"></a></p> <p>Finally, it has happened. We’ve know about <a href="http://www.plastikitty.com/home/sdcc-2016-kotobukiyas-ikeman-line" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Kotobukiya’s Ikemen line</a> for a while, and in fact Nightwing has <a href="http://www.plastikitty.com/comic-toys/sdcc-2017-ikemen-nightwing-red-hood" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">been finished for quite some time</a>, but I have been counting down the hours until I got to see him in person. And it was glorious. Just look at that butt! They didn’t even neglect the bulge ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) I am all about equal opportunity sexy figures.</p> <p>Oh, they had more than Nightwing in their DC section, though! A lot, actually. The star for me was the huge ArtFX Wonder Woman who is just… so beautiful. Dead-on likeness for Gal. They also had a ton of ArtFX+ figures, both the Justice League line and the TV show line.     NYCC 2017: Kotobukiya’s DC Comics Figures

    Finally, it has happened. We’ve know about Kotobukiya’s Ikemen line for a while, and in fact Nightwing has been finished for quite some time, but I have been counting down the hours until I got to see him in person.     Toy Fair 2017: Kotobukiya’s Gotham ArtFX+ Gallery

    We’ve seen the rest of Kotobukiya’s DC TV line (Arrow, Supergirl, The Flash) so now it’s time for Gotham! Which, so far, is the only show to have more than one figure in it. Because you know everyone likes the villain more than the protagonist, but you can’t start a line off without a hero!

    My main question is, who names a little baby Oswald Cobblepot? You’re basically just asking to create a supervillain at that point, right? Between Marvel and DC, it seems like at least 40% of new shows are based around comic franchises. A stark change from 10 years ago, no?</p> <p>So it’s no surprise that Kotobukiya has been hard at work on their <a href="http://www.plastikitty.com/home/kotobukiya-panel-nycc-2016-dc-tv-shows" target="_blank">DC TV show line</a>! We’ve got <em>Gotham</em> (James Gordon & Oswald Cobblepot), The Flash, and Arrow on display. And one big surprise reveal: they had Supergirl there! The detail they get with 3D sculpting is so amazing I actually though her skirt was real fabric at first glance.</p>

It’s like the cardinal commandment of comics: if thy creation does not sell tons of shit, thou shalt get rid of it. Sniff, <em>Dial H</em>.</p> <p>And from what we saw at Toy Fair, DC is pumping out a ton of merch from these shows. Action figures, statues, they have it all! There are even things from <em>Constantine</em>, does anyone even remember that it is on anymore?! Check them all out in the gallery!</p>

    With the rise of DC tv shows like Gotham, Arrow, and The Flash, it’s absolutely no surprise that there’s been a rise in merchandise as well. It’s like the cardinal commandment of comics: if thy creation does not sell tons of shit, thou shalt get rid of it. Sniff, Dial H.
