This week will go down in history as the week of ridiculously expensive figures: we have several 1/8 scale ladies this time that break the $100 price-point. And no, they’re not crazy coldcast Ikkitousen girls, they’re from pretty big-name manufacturers! But while some companies jump their prices through the roof others keep them more middle of the road: we’ve even got a lovely 1/7 scale figure for less than $60. So prepare your wallet and hit the jump to check them out!

If you’ve seen the show it makes sense, but otherwise it’s open to interpretation. Of course that means Japan is going to come up with something crazy for it, and indeed they did. Ohana seems to be a bit of a thrill-seeker, and is parachuting all over the place! I actually like this better than the actual “getting ready for work” pose. Today On The Internet: Ohana’s Big Adventure

Alter just put their lovely Ohana up for order, but her pose remains a rather puzzling aspect of this figure. If you’ve seen the show it makes sense, but otherwise it’s open to interpretation. Of course that means Japan is going to come up with something crazy for it, and indeed they did. Ohana seems to be a bit of a thrill-seeker, and is parachuting all over the place! Uncolored it’s hard to tell what she is doing… honestly, it’s not much easier colored, but at least she looks cute! Is she adjusting her sleeves? Jumping? Falling down the stairs? Similar to GSC’s Makise, it’s a bit of a mystery what exactly is going on here. The shading and coloring are, as expected from Alter, really superb, and they make what could be an average figure into a very nice one. This is probably going to be the last interesting roundup for a while too, as most of the Japanese companies are on vacation until at least January 6th (with Orchid Seed taking a break until the 10th!). Of course here at Plastikitty we’ll still be posting news!

This was clearly the week of Touhou–as if in a rush to get out a bunch of pre-orders before the end of the year, Griffon went and put up 3 new Touhou girls, Kotobukiya re-released two of theirs, and we got another new Reimu as well! That gives us three Reimus in total, and 6 Touhou girls, which is odd because we’re usually lucky to get one or two a week! Another trend was swimsuit girls, with 5 figures this week who are ready to hit the beach. It was also a pretty slow week, so we ended up with only 5 figures that weren’t Touhou- or swimsuit-related! Hit the jump to check them all out.

She comes with some… unusual accessories, but let’s start with the “normal” stuff first!

She comes with a happy face, a grumpy/determined face, and an adorable blushing surprised face. She also comes with two Nendoroid-sized serving trays, a broom, and tons of extra legs & arms to hold everything. Now, on to the oddities! We have a heron–yes, the bird. She comes with a little bird. Why? I haven’t watched the anime, but apparently it shows up!

Last, but certainly not least, is an items that is bound to cause some “controversy”–a bondage body! Yes, Ohana is in full Japanese-style rope bondage here (though fully clothed). She also comes with a gag. Uh… what? Apparently it’s an important part of the show, but man oh man are the Japanese blogs going to have some fun with this one! Personally I find this hilarious, and even if you don’t like the bondage body she comes with enough accessories to tide over collectors. She’s going up for order tomorrow, and I know this is one Nendo I am definitely excited to get!

[via Mikatan]

Nendoroid Ohana Is Bizarre & Cute

Figures don’t usually make a huge appearance, but a few good things sneak in from the companies that make kits (i.e. Kotobukiya and Wave). And surprisingly, most of it was new! We got the first colored image of Kotobukiya’s gorgeous Yui Takamura from Muv-Luv, but aside from that it was brand-spanking-new items.

One of the best announcements is that Kotobukiya will be adding Ika Musume to their kit line inspired by Hoi-Hoi-san. She looks adorable here, and having just built the Saber-san kit (which we will have a review of soon!) I can safely say that she’ll be very well-made.

Then we have a ton of Beach Queen announcements from Wave. Infinite Stratos got three new additions: Cecilia Alcott, Charlotte Dunois, and Fang Lin Yen. I’m not a huge fan of the IS designs, but Fang looks adorable and the outfits look quite nice on all 3. Then we saw the second A Channel Beach Queen, Yuuko, who (amazingly) is as busty as the IS girls! They also had announcements without sculpts for tons of new figures: Minko, Yuina and Nako from Hanasaku Iroha, Chiriko from AnoHana, and 2 different versions of Himari from Mawaru Penguindrum. Two? Well, one of them is labeled the “Princess of Crystal” version, though I have no clue what that means!

Wave also had one more trick up their sleeve: a model kit car that comes with two figures! So it’s a kit and a scaled figure set, all rolled up into one. The best news? It’s a NERV car from Evangelion, and we’re getting a tiny Asuka and *drumroll* MISATO! You know what the world needs? A lot more figures of Misato.

[via Hobby Stock]
