Hanayo Koizumi Archive

  • Once again, Alter’s event booth is totally dominated by idol girls (and some idol boys!). Oddly enough, I kind of hate watching all those shows but I passionately love the figures. Who knows with these things. And oh boy is this a good year for idol-loving peeps. Their stunning Ranko is painted, along with Sachiko. We’ve got the world’s freaking cutest Anzu Futaba and a sassy as hell Shiki Ichinose. As for Love Live!, there are new figures of Rin Hoshizora and Hanayo Koizumi. For the boys, we have Ai Mikaze and Ranmaru Kurosaki from Uta no☆Prince-sama♪ painted and Camus is sculpted. The much-anticipated Okoi from Oboro Muramasa is here, and we have an announcement for Torahime! There was a surprise sculpt for SAO‘s Sinon, the casual Lancer sculpt, Ikumi Mito it painted, and we’ve got a very suggestive maid Lala. Oh, and Santa Alter Saber is on display too! It’s so weird and over the top but I love Christmas figures. [via AmiAmi’s Twitter]

  • One of Good Smile Company’s Wonder Festival reveals was a Petit Nendoroid set of the Love Live girls. I was pretty excited for them: I love the design of the LL cast, but so far the Nendoroid sets (both the original and casual) have done pretty much nothing for me. But these ones? Ridiculous name aside (angelic angel, so redundant), I adore the outfits they picked here! The set contains all 9 of the girls, and for Petits the sculpts look quite intricate: the hair in particular is great! As per usual, there are exclusive bonuses: the GSC shop is offering cute bases for all of them, as is Circle K Sunkus. And if you buy a full set from any location, you get a special base & background to set them all up! Orders open tonight. [via Kahotan]

  • Companies seem to be on the warpath with Love Live this week! First we had seven figure announcements from Alter, and now Good Smile is topping that with a whopping nine Nendoroids. Yes, that’s pretty much the whole cast. And yes, they already made Nendos of the whole cast… but these are in cute casual outfits! I’ll be honest, I really disliked the first set: the outfits read very circus-y to me, and had no appeal even though I do like a lot of the character designs. So while GSC might be milking this franchise, I am so happy! Because I want all of them. [via Kahotan]

  • Alter’s Love Live line has been pretty on point so far, and I think we all expected a few more girls from them. What we didn’t expect was ALL THE GIRLS. Because that’s basically what they are doing. Yup, they have just announced that Nozomi Tojou, Umi Sonoda, Eri Ayase, Hanayo Koizumi, and Honoka Kousaka will be getting figures from them, along with a second (!!) figure for Maki Nishikino. The reveal also features art for Niko Yazawa, but we already knew about her. That makes seven more Love Live girls we’ll be getting–and thankfully they’ve chosen some really cute outfits. I’m most excited for Nozomi and Umi, what about you guys? [via fig/GK]

  • It’s been a while since we had some relevant news from Kahotan’s blog! It seems to be previews of items already up for order nowadays, but today we’ve got a real live preview of an item that isn’t out in stores yet. It’s Nendoroid Hanayo Koizumi from Love Live! School Idol Project. Good Smile is making basically all of the girls, so this is nowhere near the end of the line. I’ve managed to avoid all of the Love Live! Nendo releases, and I think Hanayo is a great example of why. Sure, she’s cute: the outfit is super adorable! And she has some very sweet faces. BUT she comes with basically nothing else: the rice in the photos is not hers (it’s with Nendoroid Akagi), and the only bonus is a fancy base that you get only from ordering at the GSC online store. My resolve may crumble when they get to Umi and Nozomi, but I am perfectly fine passing up on this cutie. If you want to add her to your collection, orders open tonight and she has a May release! Why. Stop with May. Please. [via Kahotan]

  • Considering that Good Smile Project is already working on scaled figures of the girls from Love Live! School Idol Project, it probably comes as no surprise that they will be added to the Nendoroid lineup as well. However, the sheer number of girls they’ve selected is a bit of a shock: prepare your wallets, Love Live fans, because nine have already been picked! We’ve got Honoka Kousaka, Kotori Minami, Niko Yazawa, Hanayo Koizumi, Nozomi Toujou, Umi Sonoda, Maki Nishikino, Rin Hoshizora, and Eri Ayase. Phew! That is a LOT of girls. I wonder how long it will take for the whole line to get sculpted? [via Kahotan’s Twitter]
