NYCC 2012: Bad Applez Inc. Booth Overview

Bad Applez Inc., the dynamic duo of Nemo and OsirisOrion, who masterfully sculpt and paint, decided to bring some goodies to NYCC this year. Sadly, Leah and myself do not know if we’re headed back out there again this year yet (fingers crossed that we will be!), but that doesn’t mean that we can’t get excited for all of the exclusives that will be on hand! First up this year, and almost every year, is Kidrobot, who has decided to show off their 2012 exclusives as silhouettes, which is quite sleek! First up on Wednesday, Preview Night, we have the pre-release of the Futurama Hypnotoad vinyl figure, which will retail for $39.95 and will be available at Kidrobot retailers and online starting on August 2nd. Also on Preview Night we will see the release of the SDCC exclusive Simpsons Homer Buddha figure, which will be an edition of 500 pieces retailing for $50 each.

Thursday, the first day of the con, has the first release and signing with Chuckboy’s SDCC Exclusive Cyborg 7-inch Labbit Excelsior Edition, which will be an edition of 300 pieces retailing for $75 each and Chuckboy himself will be on hand to sign them. Friday follows this up with Andrew Bell’s signing for the Mahākāla Dunny Prosperity Edition, which is also an SDCC Exclusive and a run of 300 pieces, but this 8″ Dunny will cost a pretty penny — he retails for $100. Featuring four arms, a staff, a crown, and a removable belt, this is one detailed Dunny, but considering having seen the Dunny 2012 design that it is based upon, I think I’ll be passing on this as it’s just not something I’d want to own for $100 and way too distant from Andrew Bell’s usual style. Saturday sees the release of Huck Gee’s Skullslinger Tuco Edition, an 11 inch tall vinyl piece presumably with Huck Gee’s classic skullhead design, a long flowing cape, some of Huck’s usual wings, and presumably a gun somewhere. Tuco will retail for $100 and will also be an edition of 300 pieces and have a signing accompanying him as well.

Last, but not least, Sunday will have a special event featuring Kidrobot’s Ryan the Wheelbarrow who will be live screen printing shirts for people in whatever color and style they request. There will only be 78 shirts on hand and they will go for $38, so if you want one, I’d suggest getting in line pretty early as these are sure to go fast! All signings and events will take place at Kidrobot’s booth (#4529) from 12PM-2PM and will most likely require wristbands like previous years to keep things in order. Personally, there’s not much here that I’m excited for outside of the Hypnotoad, whom I will most likely just get after the convention as he is a general release, and the Chuckboy Labbit as I love the cyborg Dunny that he did and I know that this Labbit will come out amazing. Well, that seems to be the rundown for Kidrobot this year! What are you looking forward to picking up or are you sick of the same people being brought back to do the same things year after year? Let us know in the comments below!

[via the Kidrobot blog]

If you want to terrorize the other figures in your collection, you can also grab Chap Lynn Ghoul from the ESCToy webstore.

What do you readers think about these latest releases?
