Bad Applez Inc., the dynamic duo of Nemo and OsirisOrion, who masterfully sculpt and paint, decided to bring some goodies to NYCC this year. The duo, who have been working together for about a year now, and both of whom are from the New York area, decided to bring it big and have lots of tie ins with comics and New York in general. From the amazing skulls in the header of Batman, the Joker, Spider-Man, and others, to more traditional pieces like a Munny with an apple for its head (which sadly sold as I was taking these shots and didn’t get to take a picture of it), there was something for everyone on hand.
The gorgeous skulls in the header also came in large size pieces (about 5″ or so), and smaller charm sized pieces and I really can’t wait to see more in that line. NYCC also saw the release of their hand sculpted and resin cast pieces called the Dust Mitez, which are, admittedly, quite adorable. Definitely give the gallery below a look through and be sure to keep an eye on these guys over the months and years to come as they produce some amazing stuff!

Well, it’s that time of year again, it’s almost San Diego Comic Con time! Sadly, Leah and myself do not know if we’re headed back out there again this year yet (fingers crossed that we will be!), but that doesn’t mean that we can’t get excited for all of the exclusives that will be on hand! First up this year, and almost every year, is Kidrobot, who has decided to show off their 2012 exclusives as silhouettes, which is quite sleek! First up on Wednesday, Preview Night, we have the pre-release of the Futurama Hypnotoad vinyl figure, which will retail for $39.95 and will be available at Kidrobot retailers and online starting on August 2nd. Also on Preview Night we will see the release of the SDCC exclusive Simpsons Homer Buddha figure, which will be an edition of 500 pieces retailing for $50 each.
Thursday, the first day of the con, has the first release and signing with Chuckboy’s SDCC Exclusive Cyborg 7-inch Labbit Excelsior Edition, which will be an edition of 300 pieces retailing for $75 each and Chuckboy himself will be on hand to sign them. Friday follows this up with Andrew Bell’s signing for the Mahākāla Dunny Prosperity Edition, which is also an SDCC Exclusive and a run of 300 pieces, but this 8″ Dunny will cost a pretty penny — he retails for $100. Featuring four arms, a staff, a crown, and a removable belt, this is one detailed Dunny, but considering having seen the Dunny 2012 design that it is based upon, I think I’ll be passing on this as it’s just not something I’d want to own for $100 and way too distant from Andrew Bell’s usual style. Saturday sees the release of Huck Gee’s Skullslinger Tuco Edition, an 11 inch tall vinyl piece presumably with Huck Gee’s classic skullhead design, a long flowing cape, some of Huck’s usual wings, and presumably a gun somewhere. Tuco will retail for $100 and will also be an edition of 300 pieces and have a signing accompanying him as well.
Last, but not least, Sunday will have a special event featuring Kidrobot’s Ryan the Wheelbarrow who will be live screen printing shirts for people in whatever color and style they request. There will only be 78 shirts on hand and they will go for $38, so if you want one, I’d suggest getting in line pretty early as these are sure to go fast! All signings and events will take place at Kidrobot’s booth (#4529) from 12PM-2PM and will most likely require wristbands like previous years to keep things in order. Personally, there’s not much here that I’m excited for outside of the Hypnotoad, whom I will most likely just get after the convention as he is a general release, and the Chuckboy Labbit as I love the cyborg Dunny that he did and I know that this Labbit will come out amazing. Well, that seems to be the rundown for Kidrobot this year! What are you looking forward to picking up or are you sick of the same people being brought back to do the same things year after year? Let us know in the comments below!

Well, it’s that time again, ESCToy has offered up some new releases and they’re both quite green this time! First up is the new Crow Crow Bear Mod featuring a green on green colorway and is the latest of the Crow Crow Bear figures. This run of 26 pieces is up for sale now in the ESCToy webstore for $75.00 each with $8.00 shipping within the United States. Personally, as much as I love Crow Crow Bear, I’m on the fence with this release as I’m not really a fan of the greens used here, but it does seem to match well with the NYCC green Yarn Shroom, so it may wind up in my collection for that alone.
Next up is the now low-stock Chap Lynn Ghoul colorway of the Chap Lynn figure, which is quite spooky! Standing at 8″ tall, this 11-piece-run-figure seems quite fitting with the recent “start of the zombie apocalypse” that has been happening lately and the greens and purples look great together. If you want to terrorize the other figures in your collection, you can also grab Chap Lynn Ghoul from the ESCToy webstore.
What do you readers think about these latest releases? Are either of these must owns for you or are you holding out for different colorways? Let us know in the comments!

ESCToy’s Uncharted 3: Drake’s Misfortune Nathan Drake figures have been up for order for a while and we’ve shown you a lot of pictures of them from their original unveiling to a gallery of them from NYCC and now we have a lot of funky new colors for them! Following up the Scarecrow Blue colorway of Black Friday come the Silver, Limon, and Neo-Tokyo editions of this awesome vinyl figure! First up is the edition of 5 Silver Drake figure, which is quite shiny and awesome! Each of these bad boys retails for $400 with $1 shipping and there are currently two left in the ESCToy webstore, so act fast if you want one!
That’s not all though, the Limon Drake figure, limited to 15 pieces, is also available for $250 with $1 shipping in the ESCToy webstore. This yellow-green colorway is quite unique and interesting looking and I love that it is one solid color; it looks like a prototype! Last, but not least, is the custom painted 1 off Neo-Tokyo Drake, which is already out of stock. I love the crazy purple and red color scheme here and wish that this figure were actually put in production, but sadly it never will be. With all of these, be on the lookout for golden coins inside your box for the chance to win special prints from Erick Scarecrow as well and may Drake’s Misfortune turn into your good fortune!
Also, while we’re on the topic of Drakes, an all purple colorway recently popped up on Erick Scarecrow’s blog as well along with a picture of Nathan’s voice actor, Nolan North, playing with the Drake figures! No word yet on that purple colorway, but we’ll be sure to keep you posted as info becomes available! Have any of you readers picked up any colorways yet or are there any that you’d like to see made? Let us know in the comments below!

The Beast Brothers and Huck Gee have collaborated on 8″ Dunny pieces before, but this latest collaboration is most certainly one of my favorite. Dubbed the 8″ Royal Guard Skullendario Azteca Dunny, this gold mixture of the Skullhead design by Huck Gee and the Beast Brothers’ Azteca 2 Dunny Series design is quite stunning to see. Adorned with gems and jewels and featuring the royal flag as well, this is one awesome looking piece. If you’re looking to add a great handmade resin piece to your collection, the Royal Guard Skullendario Azteca Dunny will be available for 24 hours starting on April 20th at 1pm EST for $475 on the Beast Brothers’ online webstore.

Every year, Paul Shih brings a special Christmas colorway of one of his figures to the masses and this year is no different. Paul had been teasing a new Christmas piece for the last few weeks on his Twitter and now we finally have full pictures and info on this new release: JB has been decked out along with the halls and is ready to bring in the Christmas cheer! This special set will be limited to 5 pieces and will actually come with a few goodies as well! What goodies you ask? A special JB Christmas print that you can see in the gallery below as well as some customized mini Santas who can be seen after the jump… they’re a bit special.
How much is this whole set you ask? Well, you can get it all for the low price of $55 plus shipping! If you need to add this little cutie to your collection she’ll be available on December 5th at 12 pm PST and the first five people to message will be the lucky ones to get one! I know I’ll be trying to get her as this green and red colorway is just amazing, but what about you readers, will you be trying to get her to spread the Christmas cheer a little early?

Way back before NYCC we showed you a teaser of ESCToy’s main Black Friday release, Armora, and at NYCC we got a full look at the two pieces together. Now that all of the turkey and stuffing have been eaten and we’ve all shown our thanks, Erick Scarecrow and ESCToy are thanking all of their loyal fans over the last six years with three new releases! First up is the large Armora & Dragovo set which stand in at a whopping 18″ tall and 7″ tall and take up almost an entire display case shelf by themselves! This stunning set is limited to 15 pieces and will retail for $600.00 and comes with $1.00 shipping in the U.S.
Next up is my favorite of the releases, Crow Crow Bear Twilight Edition! When I first saw this figure back at NYCC, I knew I had to have one; the blues, yellows, and oranges are just so gorgeous in the clear resin and I can’t have enough of Crow Crow Bear! If you’re like me and need to add this little 6.5″ figure to your collection, he’ll be a run of 25 pieces and retail for $75.00 with $12.00 shipping within the U.S. Last, but not least, is the Scarecrow Blue Nathan Drake figure. This colorway is limited to 100 pieces and will retail for $49.99 with $15.00 shipping inside the U.S. only — sorry international folks, this guy can’t leave the border! This piece will also include limited DLC for Uncharted 3, so if you want the special DLC be sure to act fast because there aren’t many of these beautiful blue little guys!
Well, that’s it for this year! Armora & Dragovo, Crow Crow Bear Twilight, and the Scarecrow Blue Drake are all hitting the ESCToy webstore at 12 am EST in a little under half an hour, so good luck to all and congratulations to ESCToy for making it to six years!

A few months ago we showed you Lou Pimentel‘s new Siamese Cherries that he is producing in resin and now we have word of the second colorway, a black cherry! Set to be released on Black Friday, the black cherry features extra detailing on his face in a black and grey colorway. The black cherries are quite limited at 12 pieces and will be available starting this Friday, November 25th (Black Friday for those not in the know) for $65 with $7 shipping within the U.S. and $10 for international shipping and will be online at Lou’s webstore.
Also, now available are the original red cherries, which are an open run and are going for $50 with the same shipping prices. For those wondering about the delay in the production, these have also been re-designed from the ground up via 3D sculpting by Chris Raab so as to make the stems of the cherries much more secure. Don’t fret though as each piece is still produced via hand by Lou himself and painted with oil pants by him as well for a great affordable piece of art. Are any of you readers camping out at your keyboards for 12 PM EST this Friday to get your hands on one of these? I know I will be!

The other day we showed you about the new pink Mermadi release from ESCToy, but that’s not all that’s happening in the world of Erick Scarecrow currently! Today we received an e-mail with a few other new pieces that are on the horizon from this toymaker as well including more information about the Uncharted 3 Drake figures as well as a new colorway of Pinnola!
First up is the new colorway of Pinnola, which is the OG release and is in a pink, yellow, and orange colorway. Like the pink Mermadi, we saw this back at NYCC, and now, a short time later, we have its release upon us. This OG edition will be a run of 20 pieces and this 6.5″ figure will retail for $135.00 with $10 shipping within the United States. If you need a new puppet girl for your collection, Pinnola will be releasing on November 18th, 2011 on the ESCToy webshop, so act fast before she becomes a real girl and runs away with someone else!
Next up is the secret pink Mermadi release, which –SURPRISE– is now available! This all pink colorway that is an edition of 5 is now available on the ESCToy webstore for $300 each and is one gorgeous colorway. Speaking of gorgeous colorways is the final bit of info from this latest e-mail: the Scarecrow Blue Nathan Drake figure from Uncharted 3 is almost ready for release! This all blue colorway will be available immediately upon release in late November, so keep your eyes out for it, and don’t forget to pre-order the OG or Naughty Dog colorways now as well as they come with DLC for the game and are quite stunning in person to boot!
Well, that’s it for this week! I can’t wait to see what’s next from ESCToy and let us know what you like that you see here in the comments below.

Back at NYCC we showed you a lot of new pieces from ESCToy including a whole slew of new Mermadi figures including a new sculpt. Now, we have word from Erick Scarecrow and ESCToy that the next Mermadi release will be the second colorway of the first sculpt of her. This all pink colorway of Mermadi features lots of different shades of pink and a big bubblegum wave to go along with her and is one unique colorway. There’s no word on when or how much this Mermadi will release for, but we do know that it will most certainly release at some point this week on the ESCToy webstore and that it will also be limited to only 5 pieces, so act fast if you want to try to catch this rare animal! I hope we see the new Mermadi sculpt release next, but what do you think, do you like the original sculpt or new sculpt better? Let us know in the comments below!
