  • For years, IDOLM@STER was MegaHouse’s domain. If you liked one of the girls you had to buy one of their figures: there were simply no other options. But recently Phat! Company and Good Smile have been popping out figures of both the original cast and Cinderella Girls like there is no tomorrow. Truly, it is a fantastic time to be an IM@S fan. One of my absolute favorite girls is Takane, the silvery lavender-haired beauty who may or may not be an alien from the moon. I was not a big fan of MegaHouse’s take on her, so of course I’ve been dying over Phat!’s version since we saw that sneaky painted teaser at Miyazawa Model. Now she’s painted and SO BEAUTIFUL. That hair, dear lord, and her face is beyond perfect. My one tiny complaint is that I wish the lower half of her skirt was a bit less stiff, but I’ll let it slide for this princess. Orders open tonight! [via Kahotan]

  • There’s always so much going on at a given Wonder Festival that I forget half the announcements. When the painted version of FREEing’s Yukata Miki Hoshii popped up last night, I was shocked. When did this happen?! This July, of course, and Miki isn’t the only one–we saw Chihaya and Takane unpainted at the event, too. Miki is now up for order (you can find her at AmiAmi, Hobbysearch, Big In Japan), but we also got a little sneak peak at the other two girls. I know some people are tired of the yukata line FREEing has going on, but I really love that you can have characters from tons of different series in the same scale and proportions with matching outfits. Tamaki next to Sonico next to Miki?? Yes please. The other two look lovely–I’m not a huge Chihaya fan but Takane is one of my favorites! Honestly, I’m hoping they continue pumping these out because I’d love a yukata Hibiki and Azusa. [via GSC & moeyo]

  • Miyazawa is one of those events I always forget about. I saw all this news popping up and said “what the hell?!” But indeed, it’s one of the (many) autumn hobby events! So let’s get right into it. Phat! Company seemed to bring the most: their new Ranko, Makoto’s sculpt, a tiny teaser of Takane, the action figure Labrys (so cuute!), the painted ¬†Yuudachi Kai Ni, and the chibi figure of Hikoujouki (Harbor Princess). Oh, and let’s not forget: the full sculpt for their Shiro! KanColle unsurprisingly ruled above all, once again. We’ve got the Nendoroids of Suzuya & Kumano, along with ANOTHER Nendo announcement: Kirishima! There was also the sculpt for the figFIX Amatsukaze. Nendoroids of Elsa, Senbonzakura Miku, Kyouko Toshino, Akari Yomatsuri, and Tobio Kageyama. Of course that’s not all: don’t forget about the tiny Detective Conan and FREEing’s yukata figures of Misaka & Kuroko. [UPDATE] Added Max Factory’s Venera-sama, Gift’s Vita and Penguin Parade’s Miyuki Shiba from moeyo! [via Hobbylog, Phat!’s Twitter]

  • As far as the original IDOLM@STER girls go, Makoto ranks pretty low on my list of favorites. I mean, I don’t dislike her, but she’s not really up near the top… unlike, say, Iori or Miki, who thankfully were some of the first girls Phat! took on for their figure line. And of their huge batch of announcements the one I really want the most is Azusa, but something about this line makes me want even my least-favorite girls! Once again, Phat! has pulled out a detailed, motion-filled sculpt that looks absolutely perfect. The original illustration had Makoto lying down, but given how much space that would take up I’m glad they changed it. Damn you, Phat! Company, taking all my money. [via Phat!’s Twitter]

  • We’ve already seen the KanColle goodies that Good Smile Company and their sister/child companies had on hand at Chara Hobby, but of course there was more! A lot more. To be honest, there was nothing really “new” but they did show off some figures I am really looking forward to like Racing Miku 2014, Phat!’s Ranko, Eren, and Tell Your World Miku. You can also see that there are some franchises they are pushing particularly hard: the amount of Love Live! School Idol Project and Terra Formars merch is bordering on comical. And let’s not forget about Madoka! There are also Nendoroids & figmas galore, of course, almong with some updated sculpts. [via Akibahobby]

  • It’s no secret that Miki Hoshii is my favorite IDOLM@STER girl, so I’ve been absolutely dying waiting for the pre-orders to open for her figure from Phat! Company. They’ve been taking their sweet time, with Hibiki and Iori already out and Yayoi up for order for a long time now. But it’s finally happening! And, of course, she’s perfect. Except for one pesky hair seam that you can only see from one kind of weird angle, so I will forgive them. Just this one time. I mean, she’s amazing! The face, the pose, the outfit. The details. The paint. Thank you, based Phat! Company. Now make Azusa just as perfect. Order open tonight. [via Kahotan]

  • Good Smile Company & Co have seen booming success with the IDOLM@STER line recently, with everything from scaled figures to figmas to Nendoroid Petit sets and pretty much everything in between. So of course Nendoroid announcements were only a matter of time… but they sure held out for a while! I guess they wanted a nice buildup of anticipation. We have (finally) the announcement for three girls: Miki Hoshii, Chihaya Kisaragi, and Haruka Amami. Pretty much the ones you’d expect! Based on sales popularity I assume Hibiki will be joining them soon, and I am very much hoping for an Azusa. [via dolnne’s Twitter]

  • Who doesn’t like IDOLM@STER and its many variations? Heartless beasts. That’s why so many figures from it were at Wonder Festival! The crown jewel was, of course, the painted Ranko Kanzaki from Phat! Company. Their Takane Shijou was also out and pretty fabulous. But that wasn’t the only Takane! FREEing is working on a yukata set of Takane, Chihaya Kisaragi, and and Miki Hoshii. Not enough for you? Well Miki got a figma announcement, and Kotobukiya’s Cu-Poche Hibiki also made an appearance! • Since we just got some Dollfie Dream news I thought it might be a while before new dolls leaked, but we’re already getting info on the two that will be at Hometown Dolpa Osaka 8! One of them we actually already knew about: Makoto Kikuchi, who is part of their IDOLM@STER line. Like the other girls she is a Dollfie Dream Sister with one of the integrated bodies and an S bust, meaning no torso line! The other announcement is kind of out of left field: Alisa Ilinichina Amiella from God Eater 2! Huge weapon included, meaning she will probably be very, very pricey. She also has an integrated body, though she is a regular Dollfie Dream with an L bust. Thankfully neither of these girls is calling to me, but what about you guys?
