IDOLM@STER Million Live Archive

  • With IDOLM@STER, it never rains, it pours. It seems like we never get just one announcement, it’s always a bunch at once. And today we have 4 pieces of news! First, from Phat! Company, their Minako Satake from Million Live is sculpted (and looking suspiciously like Hibiki, or is that just me?). They also announced a figure of Megumi Tokoro in a super adorable outfit. Then we have another duo from Aquamarine: the sculpted Mirai Kasuga, also from Million Live, and an art tease for Haruka Amami. Who happens to be in a really similar pose and outfit… kind of a strange choice! [via Phat! Company & Yukiusan’s Twitter]

  • You know all those figures we just saw at Wonder Festival? You know, literally like 6 days ago? Well it’s time to… look at them again! In the most pointless event of all time. Okay, not pointless for the companies, but kind of pointless for us. Except we get to look at all the pretty figures again? The goodies from Good Smile Company, Max Factory, Phat! Company, Wing, and FREEing were on display, along with several of the Nendoroids and figmas. I mean, not all of them, obviously. Because that would be a, like, 100+ picture gallery. And they’d have to haul way too much stuff over. So for now, check out the selection they had at the event! I still think something looks off with Yuudachi, but I sure am excited for yukata Aegis. • I will freely admit that Aquamarine is one of those companies I don’t pay much attention to. But this Wonder Festival their Rise caught my eye (and heart) and the rest of their lineup does not disappoint! First and foremost (for me at least) is their sculpt for Elphet from Guilty Gear who is my outfit spirit animal. I want to dress like that all the time. Ears included. We have Charlotte and Lynette from Strike Witches, Megumi Katou from Saenai Heroine, Izumi Sagiri from Ero Manga-sensei (so cute!), their newest Vocaloid IA, Chino Kafuu with a giant spoon, Izuna from No Game No Life, Mirai Kasuga from IM@S Million Live, and an announcement for Sakura from Sakura Wars… in her battle outfit! Um yes please. All my yes. [via AmiAmi]

  • We’ve seen Kotobukiya’s amazing Spike announcement and their new Bishoujos already. And apparently they’re in a retro mood, because we have a lot of throwbacks here. Motoko from Ghost in the Shell, Sakura from Sakura Wars (YASS), the art for Pokemon Trainer Red, and a Cu-Poche of Rei (which means… Asuka is right behind)! Then there’s, you know, some modern stuff. Touken Ranbu, Tales of Berseria, IDOLM@STER: Million Live, Granblue Fantasy, 7th Dragon, and more. Check them all out below! [UPDATE] Added a few new figures to the gallery! • Alter used to be a company known for their big, flashy, ornate figures. And they still make some, but most of their releases are small and understated, but still gorgeously detailed. Like the IDOLM@STER and Love Live! lines, both of which of course made an appearance at Wonder Festival. Of course they’re my favorite Alter figs of the event. Just so perfect, so detailed, so CAT GIRLS. Okay, I’m lying, the surprise bunny Sora is probably my favorite. We have two Sabers: a lovely dress version of Saber Alter and a causal school Saber. Two of their Tales figures are painted: Edna and Julius Will Kresnik. Another boy is there too! Leonard Watch, who looks so cute. Purple Heart is finally sculpted along with Ema Yasuhara. Not enough? We have announcements for 3 (!!) more IM@S ladies: Anastasia, Minami Nitta, and Ranko Kanzaki. Plus Plachta from Atelier Sophie. [via amiami]

  • My least-favorite part of Wonder Festival (besides the crippling stress of actually covering the event) is the teasers. There are just… a lot of them, from every company, and it’s so much news! Plus it gives away some of the surprises. One of these in particular I would much rather have seen at WonFest and been like “wow, what the hell?” But alas, here we are. Anyway, we have a couple art-based announcements: Bishoujo Edward Scissorhands, Pokemon Trainer Red, and… Bishoujo Chucky?!?! Yup, she’s the newest Horror Bishoujo! We also have the painted sculpt for their KanColle Hibiki and the Cu-Poche Verniy, and a ton of totally new “announcements.” We’ll be getting a figure of Sakura¬†Shinguji from Sakura Wars (AW YIS), Anna Mochizuki from IM@S Million Live!, and Danua from Granblue Fantasy. Phew, that’s a lot of stuff! [via Kotobukiya]

  • IDOLM@STER has been getting a ton of figure attention recently, but most of the focus is on the original cast and Cinderella Girls. There’s very little from Million Live. We’ve seen Yuriko from Phat! Company and they announced Minako, plus there’s an older MegaHouse figure, but other than that? Yeah, not much. It seems like Aniplex & Stronger are going to mix that up a little, because they’ve announced a set of 3 figures: one from each of the main IM@S series! There’s Mirai Kasuga from Million Live, Uzuki Shimamura from Cinderella Girls, and Haruka Amami from the OG IM@S. I’m not sure how I feel about the selections (we’ve certainly seen enough of Haruka, and even Uzuki) but I love the outfits they picked! [via Nico Nico]

  • So far, Phat! Company’s IDOLM@STER line has been absolutely amazing, though they seem to be sticking to the original girls and the Cinderella Girls for the most part. But now we’re getting a bit of variety: another Million Live! character, following their lovely Yuriko Nanao. This time it’s Minako Satake. The pose looks kind of weird in the art they chose (and hard to translate to 3D), but I totally trust Phat! to make me want to buy yet another random girl. This line has done some serious damage to my wallet. [via Phat’s Twitter]

  • When we got that recent group of IDOM@STER announcements and sculpt reveals, there was one that snuck right under the radar: Phat! had finally painted their Yuriko Nanao from IDOLM@STER Million Live, a version of the franchise that gets almost no figure attention. In fact, we only have one figure from it, and that came out years ago. I am a sucker for beach figures, especially when they are tasteful and have tons of props, so of course Yuriko is right up my alley. So far I’ve been absolutely loving Phat!’s IM@S girls, and have only passed on a handful of them–and I don’t think Yuriko will be one of them! Orders should open tonight, and we already know her price will be reasonable. [via Phat!’s Twitter]

  • Phat! is really the dark horse of the figure world. They’re smaller, sure, and one of GSC’s sister companies, but the giants seem to overshadow them. These past few years, however, they’ve been going at it with everything they’ve got, bringing us interesting licenses and great sculpts. It seems like 2015 will be no exception! The biggest announcement (for me) is my waifu Rise in her Dancing All Night outfit. I LOVE IT! Of course we had some Kantai Colletion in the form of Zuiho, and IDOLMSTER: both Makoto and Yukiho have updates. And while there’s no new Cinderella Girls figures, we have Anastasia coming down the line, along with Million Live’s Yuriko Nanao. There’s tons of other announcements: Angela Balzac (the darling of this WonFes), Sinon, and Fumi Kanno from Devil Survivor 2. What?! Excitement! There are some sculpts too, of course: Yui Mikoze and her elaborate… suit? from Futsuu no Joshikousei ga [Locodol] Yatte Mita and then a pair of girls from Shirohime Quest. And last but not least? A little chibi poseable Momohime!
