Stronger is a smaller, more specialized company than some of the others who have given us teasers today, so it’s no surprise they only had two to offer up. But what teasers they are! This is clearly Maiko Meiko and Kaito all painted up. And they’re pretty large teasers, featuring about 70% of the sculpt, so none of this “ooh a painted corner of a hand!” stuff. It’s the real deal. And, thankfully, they look amazing! Though after Maiko Miku did we have any doubts? I’m wondering if we’ll see a Luka/Rin/Len announcement to go along with these…

Now that they’ve added Miku Hatsune to the Nendoroid Co-De, you know what that means: outfits. So, so many Miku outfits finally in PVC form. I’m one of those people who really loves Miku and would legit buy a figure of almost every one of her many variations, so this is great news for me! And also for Rin, Len, Luka, Kaito, and Meiko fans, because they are included in this.
Good Smile Company is opening up voting to the fans, so you can decide which outfit gets made into Nendoroid form! There are some really great options like Green Ponpoko, Twinkle Star, Siren, Heart Hunter, Colorful Gumdrop… okay, they’re all amazing! And I really do hope we get Reactor Rin. You can vote right here and the poll stays open until the 13th of April, plus you can vote once per day!

When Maiko Miku (who is up at AmiAmi, by the way-no proxies needed!) was announced, she came with art for basically all the other big Vocaloids in matching outfits. I assumed this meant we’d be getting more figures, and I assumed right. Though my guess was that Luka was up next, probably followed by Rin & Len. And I’m happy to say that I was wrong!
Instead, we will be getting two very neglected Vocaloids: Meiko and Kaito! A boy maiko figure? Yup, it’s happening! I am 100% certain that Luka and Rin/Len will follow so don’t worry if that is who you wanted: there’s no way they are wasting that gorgeous art.

Good Smile usually has a lot to show us in their monthly NicoNico broadcasts, but for some reason we only have two figures for May–or at least, only two worth screenshooting and talking about. First up is the Senbonzakura version Nendoroid of Kaito! This one has been a long time coming, and he looks great! Though I’m really hoping we will get the smug face featured in his concept art.
Next is a pretty underwhelming Nendoroid Petit of Mikudayo, who certainly needs more merchandise. I mean, she’s cute and I like the accessories, but she is also bundled with the Project Miku bluray meaning you can pay a lovely ¥8,000 if you want her! What even.

Nendoroids. They’re kind of like bunnies now; you put two in a room and bam, you’ve got like a thousand before you know it, and this year’s Wonder Festival was no different. Good Smile Company and it’s umbrella of companies had over 40 new Nendoroids on hand at this show. Remember when it took them like two years to hit 40 Nendoroids? Yeah, it’s been a while… We’ve already shown you the Majora’s Mask 3D Link, Kirby, and Marth and Sheeda from Fire Emblem, but that was certainly nowhere near all that was on hand.
We got to finally see the sculpted and painted version of their Stormtrooper, Celty from Durarara! looks great, and a second Mako from Kill la Kill that is utterly adorable. Then we’ve got Oono Akira from Hiscore Girl, Moritomo Nozomi from The Rolling Girls, Alice Cartelet from Kiniro Mosaic, Patchouli Knowledge from Touhou, Angela Balzac from Rakuen Tsuihou: Expelled From Paradise, Kaffu Chino and Tippy from Gochuumon wa Usagi Desu ka?, a Senbonzakura version Kaito, Beni and Koujaku from DRAMAtical Murder, Eclair Martinozzi from Dog Days”, Kazami Kazuki from Grisaia no Kajitsu, Itsuka Kotori from Date A Live, Hoozuki from Hoozuki no Reitetsu, Yuuki Yuuna (who seems to be everywhere this WonFest), Emiya Shirou from Fate Stay/Night Unlimited Blade Works, Umaru from Umaruchan, and Shiren from Shiren 5+.
Over in idol land we’ve got three new iDOLM@STER Cinderalla Girls with Shibuya Rin who is painted, Shimamura Uzuki who is sculpted, and Honda Mio who was announced. We’ve also got SIX new Nendoroids from PriPara with Manaka Lala, Minami Mirei, and Houjou Sophie all painted, a sculpt of Toudou Shion, and announcements of Dorothy and Leona West. Phew! There are also three Nendoroid Code figures (seems to be non-poseable Nendoroids?) of Manaka Lala, Minami Mirei, and Houjou Sophie. Then in magical ship girl land, aka Kantai Collection, we only have five new additions: sculpts of Yamato and Ryuujo and announcements of Northern Princess (Leah’s favorite!), Ooyodo, and our bumbling idiot misfit star of the anime, Fubuki.
From IS: Infinite Stratos we’re getting some new additions with Laura Bodewig and Charlotte Dunois, who are both quite cute. We also have three new Nendoroids from Touken Ranbu with Mikazuki Munechika sculpted and announcements for Kashuu Kiyomitsu and Kogitsunemaru. We also have a Nendoroid More announcement of cheerleader outfits, which are pretty adorable. That’s a lot of little Nendoroids…

That’s right, it’s time for another prize fair! Because we can’t have some nice time off between Wonder Festival and Toy Fair. Oh no, that would be way too simple!
Anyway, we have a TON of goodies for you. More than usual, even! All the regulars are here: Evangelion, OreImo, Attack on Titan, Fate/Stay Night, Vocaloid (yes, not just Miku–that is indeed Luka & Kaito on display!), K-On!, Love Live! School Idol Project, Kantai Collection, One Piece, Soniko, Sword Art Online, Dragon Ball Z, Monster Hunter, and so much more. We’ve even got some pleasant surprises like Sailor Moon prizes, so check them all out in the gallery!

Do you like yukatas? Do you like pretty girls in yukaas? How about… sets of pretty girls in yukatas? THEN MAN OH MAN IS FREEing THE COMPANY FOR YOU. Thought the just announced set of Soniko pals was enough? Wrong. What about the Madoka set? I mean, she is here and painted, along with the Homura sculpt? WRONG. What about the Fate/Stay Night ones, I mean we haven’t seen Saber Alter yet! Oops well they forgot about her. But we DO have: Tamaki Kousaka; Inori; Nagi from Kannagi; Fate, Nanoha & Hayate (announced); Sasami Tsukuyomi and Mashiro Shiina. All. In. Yukatas.
BUT WAIT, THERE’S MORE. Yagyu Jubei (colored!), Rin, Len & Kaito (BOYS?!) in Senbonzakura gear (announced, no sculpts), Percival from Eiyuu*Senki (announced), Kaworu Nagisa (sculpted, uhnf), Rei Ayanami (announced), bunnygirl Rias Gremony (sculpted & huge), the ribbon gals from Kono Naka ni Hitori (painted), Akiho Senomiya (sculpted) and Akiko Himenokouji (sculpted) along with all the Sword Art Online figures. Holy crap FREEing, slow it down a little! Also, that Tama-nee. Be still, my heart.
[UPDATE] Saber Alter is indeed sculpted, but wsas marked DNF so we can’t show her off.

The Vocaloid family seems to get a lot of love from Good Smile Company & co: except for the fringe ones like IA and, of course, the boys: though they do get Nendoroids (even Gakupo!), we don’t see much in the way of scaled merchandise or anything else for that matter. So it’s no surprise that fans went pretty ballistic when a figma of Kaito was shown off at Winter Wonder Festival! While I’m not a huge Kaito fan I can appreciate everyone else’s enthusiasm, and we’re finally getting a preview of this handsome devil.
While I think his limbs are a bit too gangly, he does look nice and he comes with a decent amount of extras. He comes with three faces: standard, a really cute happy face, and a singing face. I don’t really like the singing one, since he kind of looks… pissed off. And of course he has his signature ice cream! Sadly, the parasol in the shots is NOT his, but Snow Miku’s. Why do you taunt us like this, Mikatan?! He’ll be up for order tonight.

There are a massive amount of figure-related events in Japan. Usually we cover the big ones that involve PVC: Wonder Festival, Comiket, MegaHobby, Tamashii Nations, et cetera. But of course the garage kit community probably puts out ten times as much as the PVC world, they are just a lot harder to get! The most recent gk event will be Treasure Festa in Ariake 9, which takes place on May 5th–yes, only a few days away!
So today we’re bringing you a roundup of some of the best kits that will be at the event, complete with the circle’s name in case you are lucky enough to be at the event and have the money and speed to snag one. My favorites are the adorable Yagyu from Senran Kagura and Atelier Hiro’s graceful Miku, but there’s a whole lot more–even a Kaito and an awesome Shin Megami kit with both Jack Frost and Pyro Jack! Check them all out after the jump.

When it was announced that Romeo & Cinderella Miku was the last of the new Vocaloid Petits, I think we all breathed a collective sigh of relief. No Mikudao! Or so we thought… DUN DUN DUUUUUN
You may think that a Nendoroid and figure are enough but oh no, the terrifying Mikudayo is out for blood and is getting a Petit Nendoroid. Hopefully not part of the set, since there are already 12 figures in it and only 12 boxes to a case. Imagine… you’re opening up your case, the last one left is supposed to be Kaito, you’re so excited and then… MIKUDAYO.
We’ve also got some news about the set: if you pre-order at GSC directly you get a carrying pouch, and pre-orders at Karukawa or Family Mart will get a cool stand. But those involve proxy fees and/or no discount, so no thanks. As a closing note, this post is a prime example of why I am SO tired of Mikatan’s commentary. Do you really need to mention 3 times how “sexy” these Nendoroid Petits are? No, just stop.
