  • Max Factory has always been about quality over quantity, and that’s certainly clear from their scaled figure Wonder Festival lineup. It’s very small! We have seen the Fate/Stay Night and Vocaloid figures, but of course there’s a handful more. We have two KanColle girls: Suzuya Kai-II and a damage mode Saratoga. Their Racing Sonico is finally painted, as is the gorgeous Mage from 7th Dragon. Ai-chan from Tawawa on Monday is also painted, if boobs that look like they are literally filled with helium are your thing. They’ll also be taking on Utaha Kasumigaoka from Saekano. [via whl4u]

  • We have already seen Good Smile’s Fate/Stay Night and Vocaloid scaled figures, but of course they had a lot more. And I do mean a LOT. We are going to dive right in because there’s a lot to cover, starting with painted figures. Emilia from Re:Zero, Akari Kawamoto from March Comes In Like A Lion, Mythra from Xenoblade Chronices 2, HOT LIMIT Eriri Spencer, and the terrifying Antarc from Land of the Lustrous are all finished and nearly ready for orders. For new sculpts we have Shuvi from No Game No Life Zero, the winged Kanade Tachibana, Altair from re:CREATORS, Shopping Mode Haruna from KanColle, and the lovely Wedding Louise. Now for the biggest category: announcements! We have two super throwback ones in a new Lacia from BEATLESS (remember the OG?) and Black Rock Shooter Inexhaustible Version. We’ll be getting a new Cardcaptor Sakura, a Shopping Mode Kashima, a swimsuit Michiru Hyodo, Hifumi Takimoto, Siluca from Record of Grancrest War, and…. Kizuna Ai, because we need more bizarre pop culture figures. [via whl4u]

  • Ah, Amakuni. I love their figures but I hate getting them, because they are always exclusives. Unfortunately for me (and my wallet), they have so many new figures my heart yearns for. I mean first off, and most obviously, my Persona 5 gals! Anne, Motoko, Futaba (light of my life), and now… Death Waifu?! I can’t believe they’re moving on to social link romances and leaving Haru in the dust. Poor Haru. And then there’s the gorgeous Tony Taka Racing Miku (be still my heart), and Yu-Gi-Oh DX’s Jaden. They showed off quite a few new things as well, like the Satsuki and Ryuuko from Kill la Kill they are adding to the weird “hot springs bath” line or whatever that is. We’ve also got Erina from Queen’s Blade Unlimited: the second QB figure of the night! I wonder why there’s been such a resurgence? And will we be getting new, cute Ymirs in the future?! [via moeyo]

  • Prize figures have always been appealing: you get a cheap version of a popular character, often in an outfit that we’d never see in scales. Plus, the quality gets better and better on them every year. With rising scaled figure prices and a worsening exchange rate, prize figures are looking better than ever, so it’s a good thing the upcoming lineup of them seems amazing! We have all the regulars out and about: Evangelion, Kantai Collection, Sword Art Online, Fate/Grand Order, Bakemonogatari, Miku, Lupin, and many many more. The noodle topper ones really seem to be taking the prize world by storm: I have a few and can vouch for how amazingly fun they are to display all sorts of odd ways. Any of them catch your eye? • FREEing: home of the bunny girl, land of the yukata. Guess what they had this year? So so many bunny girls, and two yukata… boys? It’s Shinji and Kaoru! Plus the FREE boys are here, so really they’re kind of boy-crazy. But don’t worry, we have like 50 announcements that are all girls all the time. In 1/4 scale we will be getting: Asmodeus & Lucifer from Seven Deadly Sins, Reimu, Lala & Nana & Haruna, Mea from To LOVEru, Purple Heart & Black Heart, Belldandy (!!), Reika from Gantz, Shiro from No Game No Life (both 1/4 and 1/12 scale because why not), Shimakaze, and Sumire Kanzaki from Sakura Wars. I’m excited to see them in 3 years when they finally get sculpted. [via amiami]

  • As you would expect from ques Q, the majority of their figures at Wonder Festival were from either Kantai Collection or Touhou Project. Boy, they just love those franchises! And their Kashima & Ro 500 were finally painted. Ro is so cute! Of course they had some other announcements, like Lala from To LOVEru as… Marilyn Monroe? Hmm. Curious. Rocket Sonico is sadly not painted, but at least they brought her! The Maid ver Samurai looks amazing, I love the skele-robot fish. They also will be doing Sagiri Izumi and Elf Yamada from Eromanga Sensei & Erika Itsumi and Clara from Girls und Panzer. [via Dengeki]

  • Every Wonder Festival I think to myself “there can’t possibly be even more Nendoroids at the next WonFest.” Then, like magic, the Nendo Creep happens and we get at least 5-10 more than last year at the next event. It’s a plague, a really cute plastic plague. I think they’re multiplying on their own at this point. This year we have a bounty of Nendos, so let’s get into it. We’ve got Ariel, Astolfo, Mordred, Lina Inverse, Yumeko Jabami from Kakegurui, Elf Yamada from Eromanga Sensei, Portal 2, KanColle, Meitantei Conan, Beatrice from Re;Zero, Wonder Woman, Overwatch, Mega Man, The Snack World, Sword Art Online, Fullmetal Alchemist, and so much more. They are all named in the gallery below for your viewing pleasure. And don’t forget we’ve already seen Nendos from Orange Rouge, Pokemon, Breath of the Wild, and Vocaloid! Which one are you looking forward to the most? [via the Wonderful Hobby Life For You site and King Junker’s Twitter]

  • As usual, Max Factory had a small but excellently sculpted bundle of figures for Wonder Festival. We’ve seen the Mikus (my favorite from them), but there’s lots more like… Rurouni Kenshin? So many surprise boys at this event! The Eriri and Megumi from Saenai Heroine are finally sculpted, as is Ai-chan from Tawawa on Monday whose breasts seem to be escaping from her shirt, poor dear. Their Marie Rose is finally painted and… I no longer want her? Just a garish color combo. In other fighting game news, they are doing a Renewal version of their infamous Kasumi. Morrigan when?! Iowa is also painted, along with the tiny Kemono Friends figures. For announcements, we have Jeanne d’Arc Alter dress version, whose art is just stunning. [via whl4u]

  • Every time I see an Amakuni figure I love, I die a little inside because they are all exclusives. Their booth this year is truly suffering because I want almost all of it. Guys, my heart. I’m dying. Seven Heavenly Virtues Michael is finally painted, and soooo pretty, as are quite a few of their KanColle girls. We also have a sculpt for Iowa which has some pretty impressively floating boobs. Cause she’s ‘Murican and we love plastic surgery? They also have two of their Persona 5 girls, Futaba and Makoto, sculpted. One is my waifu and one is my least favorite girl, can you guess which is which? We also got a nice, detailed look at their Racing Miku 2017 who… I actually like more than the GSC one. There were also some crazy surprises, like Jaden from Yu-Gi-Oh GX (the hell) and Mai from King of Fighters! Amakuni has really been killing it lately. [via Hobby Japan]

  • For some reason, I always associate Good Smile Company with the most hype teasers. It’s probably because there are so dang many, and we always get one or two no one can identify until the actual event happens. It’s like a game! And this year is no exception, we have quite a few teasers on our hands. First, the new Nendoroids: they teased a Guardian from Breath of the Wild, a new Kongou from KanColle, Hifumi Takimoto from New Game!, and Kukuri from Mahoujin Guru Guru. Ai-chan from Getsuyoubi no Tawawa is painted, and Juzumaru Tsunetsugu from Touken Ranbu is sculpted. As for the scaled figures, Arisa from Shadowverse is painted as is Izuminokami Kanesada from Touken Ranbu. Then we have sculpt teasers for birthday Rem! They also announced a Nendoroid of Astolfo from Fate/Apocrypha. Who is the mystery dress girl, though? Hard to tell from the edge of a skirt! [via Kahotan]
