@GeekeryDo: @mikeyturvey I agree with you. I stopped reading them because I got tired of it, though @Sir_Narwhal is correct that it's normal for comics.

@GeekeryDo: @Sir_Narwhal @mikeyturvey yeh but that's just one arc and it's easy to read it all since, as you said, it's been put together like that.

@NFern0: @Sir_Narwhal Sounds like (ohoho) specialist equipment. Black Friday is more mass consumer oriented isn't it?

About few weeks back, ques Q teased a second colorway of their lovely but pricey Alice Margatroid. Then in the Summer Wonder Festival Guidebook, it was confirmed that this would be an exclusive event release. Not really a surprise, since almost all of ques Q’s recolors get the exclusive treatment. Frankly I’m not too upset, since the red just doesn’t work for me–I like the calming blues a lot more on her and I think the red looked best on Yukari, though I must admit that I prefer the pink dolls in this version. She’ll probably be ¥11,800 like the first DX release, and is certainly for devoted Touhou fans only!
[UPDATE] Updated with more shots from ques Q: her retail is confirmed at ¥11,000.

It seems like Yukuyo Saigyouji from Touhou Project has recently become quite popular–less than a week after Griffon showed of the sculpt of their Yuyuko ques Q is working on their own version of her! I love the dynamism that this character is suddenly getting in both versions, but to be honest based on the art the Griffon one is the clear winner for me. However, Yuyuko is being sculpted by Kerorin, who has worked on figures like ques Q’s stunning Yukari.
It’s pretty hard to accurately judge the two against each other right now since neither is completed, but it looks like Yuyuko fans will have a tough decision to make–while the Griffon one will probably have a better sculpt, the ques Q one might have a better paintjob but will be brutally expensive. I have to wonder why ques Q chose to make a Yuyuko now of all times, but let’s hope the two of them spur both companies to make their versions better!

Back at Wonder Festival, Ques Q teased that they would be doing a figure of Yukari Yakumo from Touhou Project in her white dress–which is a bit unusual, as all 3 previous PVC figures of her were in her purple garb! Yukari is one of my very-favorite Touhou characters, so I am thrilled to see a company doing a different take on her.
Kerorin has started showing off the raw sculpt, and it’s, well, amazing! The details in the clothing are gorgeous, and I can’t wait to see her with a coat of paint. She also comes with two different hair options–her standard long, flowing locks and a cute updo. The base is also very interesting, and it seems to match the Yukari Kerorin did for Kotobukiya. Ques Q’s figures tend to be simple but very well executed, and at 1/8 scale Yukari should cost around ¥7,600.
