Kyoukai Senjou no Horizon Archive

  • A long time ago in a galaxy identical to this one, a ton of companies announced figures from the oddly popular Kyoukai Senjou no Horizon, also known as Horizon in the Middle of Butts. While it took quite some time for us to see most of them (and others are still MIA), it’s finally time for Chara-Ani & Toys’ Works’ Masazumi Honda! I know what you are thinking. “Leah, Chara-Ani is the worst company in the history of ever! No matter how cute Masazumi is, I’m not buying her!” To which I say, “no, Taki Corp is the worst company in the history of ever, but that’s besides the point! Give Chara-Ani a chance!” Cause seriously she is adorable, wardrobe malfunction and all. And her price is only ¥6,800! She’s set for a June release, so expect orders soon. [via Chara-Ani]

  • Well, we already showed you a big group of new figmas via the Avengers and Spider-Man, but that’s not all there was on hand. Like Nendoroids, there were a metric ton of figmas at WonFest as well. First up, figma 200 was finally unveiled as a Miku version 2.0. Keeping in the Vocaloid vein we also finally got a figma of Kaito, and he looks quite nice. Keeping with the standards there’s a new Strength, a new Nanoha and Fate with a Hayate to go with them, a casual clothes Kyoko, and another version of Guts from Berserk. Hidamari Sketch x Hanikamu received three new figmas in Michiko, Sae, and Hiro all of which are quite cute. Also coming in at three figmas is Vividred Operation with two versions of Isshiki Akane (one casual, one battle), and a figma of Kuroki Rei as well. From Kyoukai Senjou no Horizon is a pretty awesome figma of Honda Futayo, and rounding out the girls are Amy from Gargantia and a new Idolm@ster line. Rounding out the guys and robots are Yuichi Shima, whom I’m unfamiliar with, a Zombie from Dawn of the Dead, Guyver, El Urakan, Cobra the Space Pirate, Bruce Lee, and last, but certainly not least, Marth from Fire Emblem. I’m glad to see more Nintendo figmas and I think Marth is the right direction to go in for the next release and I can’t wait to see how he comes out. Also, Bruce Lee, while completely random, is also looking completely awesome and the amount of detail on the Guyver sculpt is simply stunning. Now that you know who they all are, head on over to the gallery and check them all out! There’s quite a lot! [via Good Smile Company’s Wonderful Hobby Life For You page and syukyu2ka’s Twitter]

  • Welcome to the last batch of Hobby Japan scans for 2012! That’s right, the year really is drawing to a close. Which means thinking of a list of our favorite figures, working on golden butt and boobie awards, and oh yeah.. scans! We already saw the announcement of Irma but of course that’s not all (though honestly there’s not as much new as usual this time around). We’ve got lots and lots of swimsuit girls, and a few gems thrown in. We will be sure to update if any more go up, but for right now this is all there is! [UPDATE] Updated with figmas, a Nendoroid, FREEing, Aquamarine, Gift, and more!

  • When Alter announced that they were doing Kyoukai Senjou no Horizon figures, I wasn’t exactly thrilled. However, my opinion has definitely changed after seeing their prototype sculpt of Kazuno. Damn, that motion! Those giant weapons! Her lovely face! This is exactly why Alter is one of the few companies that continually impresses me. [via beyyang128]

  • You’ve probably noticed a ton of delays from Good Smile Company & co recently, but it’s not really news-worthy since a delay of only a month isn’t exactly unusual in the figure world. However, we just got word of a TON of delays, and it seems like GSC has hit some production snags and is looking to fix them. Now, I’d just like to say that my stance on delays is different from most people: I welcome them! I’d rather wait a few extra months than get a figure with sub-par quality. Anyway, onto the delays! Goddess Madoka was pushed back to December (no surprises there). The Shiki re-release, Sena, and the Princess of Crystal are all January now. The Golden Caliburn re-release was moved all the way back to February, and Max Factory’s Saber and Kiritsugu duo are January. Their Tomo is also January, and Medaka is February. Aside from Medaka, these were all originally 2012 releases! I hope Good Smile is able to successfully fix their issues and return to the quality we all know and love! [via GSC]

  • Quite a while ago, Volks announced that they’d be doing a figure of Aoi Kimi from Kyoukai Senjou no Horizon. Well, we’re finally seeing some progress! Not, you know, a sculpt or anything–this is Volks we’re talking about, the company that’s been delaying their Horizon Ariadust for 10 months now. No, I’m not kidding, so don’t expect Aoi anytime soon. She also got a Beach Queen announced today, so it’s a good day for her! [via oyaki_mitsuya]

  • Surprisingly to many of us, Kyoukai Senjou no Horizon (aka Giant Boobs and Weird Plotlines) has gained a ton of mainstream success in the figure world. There are tons of scaled figures, some Nendoroids, and now…. a figma! Of Honda Futayo, surprisingly–Horizon and Tomo seem to be much more popular, though Honda does have that figure from Kotobukiya in the works. I actually like her design the best, so I’m happy to see them taking her on first! And time will tell whether we’ll get the whole cast (figma Neito? Yes please!) or just this one. [via 2tohei]

  • While I was originally surprised that Kyoukai Senjou no Horizon was getting Nendoroids, I got right on board for the adorable Tomo Asama and was excited at the announcement of 2 different Horizons in magazine scans. The first, the uniform version, showed up painted a short while ago. Since she was at a Dengeki event and Tomo was an exclusive, I feared Horizon would befall the same fate. And lo and behold, she is indeed a Dengekiya exclusive! She’ll retail for ¥3,800 with a March release. But don’t get upset just yet! Remember that the last few Good Smile Company “Dengeki exclusives” ended up on their webstore–a trend that started with Tenshi, but has continued like clockwork so far. Even figures that went up before Tenshi were added to the store! I think there’s a good chance that Horizon will pop up for international orders if we just hold out a bit, And even if she doesn’t, there’s another version of her in the works–the Plain Clothes Nendoroid. However, I don’t know if it will come with a face as amazingly derpy as the one in the header… she’s a pretty amazing Nendo! [via Dengeki]

  • In August’s magazine scans, we found out that Horizon Ariadust would be joining Tomo Asama in the Nendoroid lineup with not one but two versions: uniform and plain clothes. Now it seems she’s painted, and she showed up at Dengeki’s fall event. The images we have are a bit grainy, but she does look cute! The crying face is adorable, and like Tomo she will come with her weapon. Since Tomo was an exclusive, I feel like at least one of Horizon’s Nendoroids will be as well. [via moeyo]

  • While I am still totally baffled by the amount of figures we are getting from the bizarre Kyoukai Senjou no Horizon, it seems the flood is only continuing to grow in size! Today there was an online broadcast featuring all of the upcoming releases from the show, including quite a few we knew about. The announcements from Kotobukiya, Chara-Ani & Volks are still on track, though it seems like no sculpting progress has been made on them. Kotobukiya has announced a second figure as well of the busty Tomo Asama! She’ll be in a battle pose as a contrast to Max Factory’s Tomo. The announcements from August’s magazine scans also made an appearance: Hobby Japan’s Mary is sculpted, and actually looking really cute! Nendoroid Horizon is still in the sculpt stage, though hopefully she’ll come out as cute as Nendoroid Tomo. Alter’s Kazuno also popped up, as well as one last new announcement. Volks will be doing a figure of her as well! Not exactly thrilling, since Volks is quite expensive and I doubt they could ever beat out Alter. If you lost track, we have 7 figures from 6 different companies in this little announcement alone. Damn! I wonder if figmas are next in line? [via Figure/GK & weibo]
