Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Archive

  • I remember the dark times when Good Smile Company didn’t come to US events. Thankfully those days are over, because their booth is usually the toy highlight of any convention! And they really brought it for NYCC this year with not one but two separate booth displays. They had a lot of brand-new goodies, like the Anniversary Miku (look at that hair!!), figma Genji, and the sculpt for the Breath of the Wild Guardian Nendoroid. It’s always nice to be able to see figures in person, it’s quite a different experience–for example, I wasn’t really sold on Marie Rose’s colors at all when the promotional shots came out, but I was totally won over when I finally got to see her. She might be coming to my pre-order list!

  • It’s a good time to be both a video game fan and a figure collector (I’m just gonna assume the crossover is pretty large). We’ve been getting so many great licenses, including of course a bounty of Nintendo figures. Especially from Good Smile! They’ve given us so very many Link figures so far… you’d think I would be tired by now, but the latest–Breath of the Wild Link–is my favorite so far. I mean, there’s just so much to love. There’s tons of detailing in his outfit and weaponry. He comes with a tiny lil pony (if you get the DX version, of course). And he’s just so tiny and angry! Something about the mad Nendoroid faceplates get me every time, because they’re so small and chubby. Check out our in-depth gallery of him below the jump.

  • Whatever your feelings about the Switch, there’s no denying that the new Link designs from Breath of the Wild are cute as hell. The pale blue tunic, the lil man-ponytail. Just so precious! They announced a Nendoroid of him way before we even knew much about the game, and it seems like they managed to finish him off right before Wonder Festival. And man, fans will not be disappointed by the effort put in here. Like the A Link Between Worlds figma, this comes with both a regular and DX version. But thankfully, it seems like both will be standard releases! And the price difference (¥5,370 DX, ¥4,167 regular) is not that bad. Especially since the DX one has A PONY. And a hood and so many amazing extras. Even the regular edition has tons of cool weaponry! Can you imagine how big his box is going to be? Orders open tonight. [via Kahotan]
