Lex Luthor Archive
Posted by Leah Bayer on February 19, 2017 | No CommentsI’ve never really understood the ‘Marvel vs DC’ mentality (don’t most comic fans read them both?) but if I was absolutely forced to pick I would be on Team DC. Because I’m basic as heck and I love Batman. So sue me! And, of course, I love me a good DC figure. Like the new Katana art they had out! Kotobukiya had quite a few DC figures on display at Toy Fair, like the huge 1/6 scale Justice League (well, at least Batman/Superman/Flash/Wonder Woman/Green Lantern). And Bishoujos Harley Quinn, Wonder Girl, the Killing Joke statue (which is getting a re-release), the Villains line in all their evil glory, and some of the classic cartoony ArtFX+.
Posted by Leah Bayer on July 25, 2016 | No CommentsAs a companion line to Kotobukiya’s New 52 ArtFX+, they announced a Villains Forever expansion a few years ago featuring, you guessed it, some of DC’s top villains. I was really expecting more heroes after the Justice League so it was a pleasant surprise, and the initial announcement had a pretty interesting mix of villains. They were all on display and sculpted at San Diego Comic Con: the Joker, Sinestro, Bizarro, Lex Luthor, Captain Cold, and the star of the show Gorilla Grodd. Let’s be honest, who doesn’t want a skull-wielding monkey in their collection? [Photos courtesy of our SDCC correspondent, Chris Hansbrough of Nine Twilights]
Posted by Leah Bayer on October 11, 2015 | 1 CommentComic villains seem to be pretty damn popular lately. We’ve got the Suicide Squad movie, an entire season of Gotham based on the baddies, and Kotobukiya’s Villains Forever figure line! We saw the Lex Luthor at SDCC, but there has been some progress since then: Red Robin and Red Hood were out as well! No surprise that for the start they’re sticking with some of the more popular guys–but if the concept art is any indication, we’ll be getting a really great mix–including Bizarro? I sure hope so!
Posted by Leah Bayer on July 17, 2015 | 4 CommentsOf course our main focus for Kotobukiya was on all the Bishoujos they brought to SDCC, but they had more than that! A lot more. Given that it’s San Diego COMIC Con, there were (of coure), a lot of comic goodies, including the impressive Hulk vs Hulkbuster statue that we first saw at Toy Fair. They also had statues ranging from Arkham Knight, Batman, Black Panther, and Iron Man to their newest ArtFX+ line which focuses on the villains. First up is a rather crazy-looking Lex Luthor. As opposed to non-crazy Lex? Haha. There was also a handful of non-comic-based merch. Their popular franchises like Halo and Alien popped up, along with a few anime lines like Aldnoah.Zero and Tokyo Ghoul. Check them out and more in the gallery!
