Louise Archive

  • 2018 seems like it is going to be the Year of the Sitting Figures for Good Smile. A shocking amount of their sculpts are just hanging around! I actually prefer sitting gals (easier to display a full shelf with height variety) so it’s good news for me. We saw a few of their figures already, like the ones at Fate/History and Mikus, but we got a lot more. Quite a few of their announcements are now sculpted: the “old” version of Kiss-Shot, birthday Rem, Megumi Katou, the Hot Limit girls (Sonico, Uzuki, & Eriri), Anastasia from Cinderella Girls, Izetta, Phosphophyllite, and Kouhai-chan. But the new announcements are what grabbed my attention. We have a wedding Louise (!! when was the last time she got a figure), Shuvi Dola from No Game No Life, Emilia from Re;Zero, and Akari Kawamoto. Oh, and uh… a Groot & Rocket Raccoon scaled figure. [UPDATE] Added the Your Name duo to the gallery [via whl4u]

  • This week was a rather slow one in terms of big-name figures: with no offerings from Max Factory or Kotobukiya, it seemed like releases trickled out. In reality there were quite a few figures, but most of them are from smaller companies that don’t get a lot of attention. We also had a whole lot of NSFW going on this week, and some very large-scale and expensive NSFW girls at that! Of course there were some really gorgeous figures in the mix, as well as a highly-anticipated re-release, so hit the jump to check them out!

  • Alter’s Gothic Punk Louise Francoise Le Blanc de la Valliere, originally released in 2009, is one of the most coveted figures out there. It regularly goes for well over retail, and it’s incredibly hard to find one (even if you have the cash to burn!). So I was understandably a little bemused when Alter brought her to MegaHobby–that is, until I noticed the card, which clearly says 2012. You know what that means? Re-release! This is pretty amazing news for fans of figures, no matter what type you collect, because Louise is one of the most detailed and well-produced figures ever made. I know for sure I’ll be buying one… maybe even two! [via Hobbystock]

  • When I saw that there was going to be a Nendoroid game, I must admit that I thought it was pretty stupid. But as information started leaking, I realized that I really wanted to play it! While at first it was just announced to be a simulation game where you play with the Nendoroids, we now know that there are 2 other modes: a turn-based RPG type battling system and a dance mode! There’s also a huge number of Nendoroids to pick from, and tons of cute outfits to put them in! Check out the gallery for some painfully adorable screenshots. But of course a game based on a figure has to have a fancy special edition, right? Nendoroid Generation comes with not one, not two, but eight Nendoroid Plus Charms! EIGHT. The character lineup is BRS, Saber, Nanoha, Reimu, Haruhi, Louise, Makise, and a secret release. If I had to guess about the secret one, I’d say it will be either a Miku or Gumako. The limited edition will retail for ¥10,480 and the regular for ¥6,280, which means that you’re only paying 4k more for 8 tiny Nendoroids–not a bad deal at all! These should be going up for order soon, and I know I’ll be picking up a set! [via Nendonesia]
