  • Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z figures are, by their very nature, a little nostalgic. But MegaHouse has really been pushing the nostalgia train hard, especially with their newest Bulma (who I am guessing is their new Nami, and we’ll see a hundred different figures of her). Remember the Dragon Ball ending theme? With Bulma chilling in the rain? That’s what their new figure of her is based on! After the disaster of Bunny Bulma, I’m really happy they’re going with a less fanservice-y take on the character. Sure, she’s just in a shirt, but it’s such a sweet figure and I love how they did her face. Hopefully she’s not exclusive and I actually have a chance to buy her! [via yozakana’s Twitter]

  • Were you excited for magazine scans this month? Well prepare to get un-excited, because we had like… 3. And one was news-worthy. Thankfully, the thing we did get is one I really care about! Gundam Wing was a staple of my childhood. My mom and I would yell “HEEEROOOOOO” at each other all the time, drove my mom crazy. But man, so much nostalgia. I was absolutely over the moon when we found out that Heero & Relena would be getting figures, and we finally have the sculpts. They look… really good, guys. I was expecting low-effort from MegaHouse to be honest, basic standing poses, but they’re so in character! Good job MH. For once I have no qualms with you. [via takezo1101]

Check Out The Sculpt For Gundam Wing’s Relena & Heero

  • It’s finally happened, guys! Magazine scans that aren’t 90% MegaHouse and 10% stuff we don’t care about. But you know what they say: be careful what you wish for. Sure, there’s lots of companies here, but there’s almost nothing new. Usually we get at least one or two figure reveals and a lot of new sculpts/paint. This time? Yeah, almost all of this was at Wonder Festival. We have some figmas, FREEing’s Lyrical Nanoha figures (I feel like we haven’t had a scaled Nanoha girl in ages!), lots of Love Live!, some Kantai Collection, and of course lots of MegaHouse-centered pages. Almost all of MH’s stuff is One Piece or Dragonball Z (their new Bulma is painted!), though the new Digimon trading figures did make an appearance. What is up with them? Why a toilet? • A new year, a new batch of magazine scans! Sadly with 2016 we aren’t getting any good changes. AKA, it’s still almost all MegaHouse. I miss old scans so bad, guys, but I need to get over it! Just appreciate what we’ve got! Because there’s a lot of nostalgia here. I mean, there’s the usual One Piece figures (including some totally over the top anatomy as per usual), yet another figma Kirito (we totally need that), and Alpha x Omega’s Eri! Then… nostalgia train. We’ve got Digimon, Dragonball Z, and Pokemon. Lots and lots of Pokemon. Ash and Misty are here, of course, with basically no updates. But we’ve got new ones! Cynthia will be joining the line, along with Steven Stone! Talk about characters I never expected to see in figure form. And why is Metagross so freaking tiny? But whatever. More Pokemon. Not gonna complain. [via takezo1101’s Twitter]

  • It’s time for your monthly mediocre magazine scans! It’s been well over a year, and I’m not over how lackluster they are now. Because once again, it’s almost all MegaHouse! Okay, we do have some Volks stuff this time, including a brand-new Saber Bride for their overpriced CharaGumin line that makes me angry. It’s like “wow, that sculpt is awesome… too bad it’s going to be insanely expensive and look terrible without lots of paint detail work!” SIGH. Okay, the MegaHouse stuff! Most excitingly, Pokemon’s James is painted to go along with Jessie. And he has a little Meowth! Plus, he’s a standard release (thank god). We also have figures from Gintama, One Piece, Gundam Reconguista in G, Shinrabanshou Chocolate, and more. Check them all out in the gallery! [via takezo1101]

  • It seems like it’s been ages since Max Factory showed off their Yami Yugi figma, but it’s actually only been a year. So, not that long–unless you’re a Yu-Gi-Oh fanatic, in which case it feels like a lifetime. At this point I was expecting him painted at Winter Wonder Festival, but surprise–he was in scans! That I guess everyone forgot to actually upload until now, thanks internet. The paint, of course, looks great (do we ever look at a painted figma and think “terrible job, Max Factory?”), with the vibrant, eye-burning brightness you’d expect. I mean, just look at the hair. it’s a thing of beauty. What I’m really curious about is the accessories. There are SO many things you could do for him, so I really hope MF doesn’t cop out with just some extra cards and faces. [via uccow]

  • After a nice, diverse month of magazine scans that covered tons of companies last month, we’re back to “all about MegaHouse.” Sigh, and I thought a real change was coming! Apparently not, because it’s 99% MegaHouse this month. Thankfully, there’s some really exciting news: not only have they painted Jessie from Pokemon, they finally unveiled James (and a Meowth to go with him!). Aw yis! These are basically my dream figures. We also have that teased Bulma sculpted, and it looks like the poor dear broke her back. Then there’s… exactly what you would expect. One Piece, Gintama, Dragonball Z, IDOLM@STER… not a lot of surprises here. Though they do show off some of the MegaHobby exclusives, which will include a white version of Amakuni’s alternate Asmodeus. Oh joy. [via takezo1101]

  • Guys, guys… magazine scans are back! We have an actual batch of things that aren’t just “everything MegaHouse is doing that we already knew about!” Like, new figures and stuff! Okay, so it’s more like “pictures with an ungodly amount of flash” rather than, you know, scans, but it’s progress. Maybe one day we’ll be back to the golden days of actual scans. But for now, we’re close enough. This month we’ve got lots of goodies, including actual new figures–like that grown-up Aldra people have always wanted, an alternate Beelzebub from Seven Deadly Sins, and a recolor of Won Pairon from AlphaMax. We’re also getting a look at MegaHouse’s Bulma (she’s in a bunny outfit!) and quite a few figures are painted: MegaHouse’s Seiten, Kotobukiya’s Kirika, the new Thai Queen Racing Miku, and Phat!’s Rin Suzuboki. Check them all out below! [via Figure/GK]

  • Another month, another boring batch of scans. Like the months before, this is like 85% MegaHouse. Actually, there was some breaking news, but we posted it a few days ago–so now we’re just left with pages of One Piece, Yowamushi Pedal, Dragonball Z, and Precure. The two figures I want the most from them, Gilgamesh and Anthy, have been all quite on the Western front for WAY too long. And where’s painted Jessie?! They’re torturing us, I tell you. We actually do have some non-MegaHouse updates from Alter (their Love Live! girls) and Orange Rouge (lots of Touken Ranbu), along with some actual news from MegaHouse: they’re adding Mio Honda and Uzuki Shimamura to their 1/10 scale line to go with Rin. • You know what I really want the day before Wonder Festival? Magazine scans. Because my dream is for mountains of work. Yay. Anyway, we have scans this month again! More than usual! I mean, there’s the normal MegaHouse stuff: Digimon (Amgemon & Angewomon painted!)… and, okay, most of the others are missing. Do you know why? Because we are getting POKEMON FIGURES. Yes, that’s Jessie in the header. She comes with Wobbuffet. All my dreams are coming true. I mean, they’re 1/10, but beggars can’t be choosers, right? And there’s lots of non-MegaHouse. Max Factory has finally sculpted the Tony Taka versions of Rin & Len.. that only took like 2 years. We have FREEing’s bunny girl Chitoge, a whole lot of updates for Bikini Warriors (including that Paladin is an exclusive, my heart is breaking!) and and finally some news from Sword & Wizards ~The Emperor of Sword & Seven Lady Knight~. Fuyuka Yukishiro has been sculpted, and will be produced by Kotobukiya. All that and more after the jump! [via takezo1101 & ALTEISEN1]
