Featuring Cyclops, Beast, Jubilee, and Wolverine so far, these flat-colored figures bring that iconic show from the screen to real life. I really love the color choice here and lack of shading as it fits with the style of the original quite well and I really love that these are all quite whimsical as well. My personal favorite is Beast and his suave look, but all four are quite great, and at about $40 a figure, these are quite affordable too. Who do you want to see added to the line? Let us know in the comments!

The dynamic pose and flowing cape fit the character perfectly and I really love that the mohawk second head is included as an option, despite not being really comic accurate (but who cares when it looks good?). Also of note, both earrings will be there in the final figure on the mohawk head, one was broken in transit. That said, all around, this is one big, bold, and awesome statue and honestly, one of my favorites of Storm. Now to hope for more mutants to come after!

Sadly, we didn’t get to see the full color version as she’s off at Wonder Festival, but what we did get to see looked quite great! That said though, I’m still not won over by her, just as Leah wasn’t before. The short hair feels a bit too static, the pose isn’t going far enough to be unique, and the rest feels like we’ve seen it all before. Nothing is bad, rather, nothing really wows about this piece. That said, if you’re a fan of the character, this is definitely a great option as there’s not a whole lot of Captain Marvel merchandise out there yet, especially depicting her as badass as she is here!

I mean, she’s a badass flying chick with short hair. Played by the always-amazing Brie Larson in the upcoming film, no less! And the art was indeed pretty cool. Shunya was sticking with his newer, slightly-less-pinup style and went for a more realistic body and less cutesy face.

The finished product is here (or at least orders for her are), and I’m a bit torn. I love the colors, pose, and face. I think the whole chest area is kind of weird: her ribs are suuuuper prominent and she’s got the “floating globes” boob dilemma going on. But look at those arm muscles, so good. While she comes in at the standard Bishoujo 1/7 scale, her retail is only ¥8,000 and she comes out in June!

Pre-order At AmiAmi | HLJ | Hobby Search | Big In Japan | BBTS

He’s got a scarf and a warm hat and earmuffs and my goodness is he adorable! Also toasty. I mean, it was 82 for most of Comic Con (yes, in NYC in October) so he was a bit overdressed. But still cute.

Kotobukiya had quite a few other Marvel cuties at their booth, like Bishoujo Ms. Marvel who was just released, and their gorgeous Statue Arts Spider-Man. Also Bish Squirrel Girl, my one true love. Check them out and more in the gallery!

But as per usual, we also got to take her out for a little spin! I mean that literally, because we gently put them on a table and spin ’em around to get all the angles. It’s very professional and fancy, you know.

I’m really loving the new direction the Bishoujo line seems to be taking. Sure, I love the classic sexy style Shunya brings to a lot of them (and that’s certainly not going away anytime soon), but I also appreciate the softer take some of them have been getting. Like Squirrel Girl or Ms Marvel, where the focus is more on cuteness than “wow T&A!” It’s not a style that fits every superheroine, so it’s nice to see the line both expanding to fit those girls but also changing a bit so they still look Shunya-illustrated but also not out of character!
