MegaHobby Expo Spring 2017 Archive

  • Amakuni: purveyor of expensive shit you probably can’t afford but really want. They’re continuing that trend today with another Persona 5 announcement: Futaba Sakura! Sigh, my squid waifu in her Phantom Thief outfit is a thing of dreams. And a lot of $$ Oh, they had other things as well! Like sculpts for Lilith Aensland, and Shinki Ixseal from Choukou Shinki Ixseal. Plus an announcement for Medusa Lancer from Fate/Grand Order, along with a few of their older sculpts. • Kotobukiya had a lot of nice surprises at MegaHobby. The first is the lovely sculpt from Yuri on Ice’s Victor, which wile not as dynamic as MegaHouse’s is a lot more appealing to me personally. Then they had two of their super cute Pokemon gals out & about. I need all of them! They also had Sagiri Izumi from Ero Manga-sensei, along with an announcement for Elf Yamada. We’ve also got Cu-Poche Rem & Ram, Aiz Wallenstein, and more. Check them out after the jump and let us know what you are looking forward to! [via AmiAmi Twitter & Dengeki]

  • Ahh, Alter. I have almost entirely sworn off buying figures, but when I am tempted it’s Alter at least 50% of the time. Something about them just really gets me in my figure-loving soul. And this event is no exception! While they only had a few goodies on hand, they were all absolutely gorgeous: from their stunning new Gwendolyn to the unbearably adorable Anzu Futaba, Alter still has it going on. Of course there were no big surprises. We have their usual go-to franchises: Fate (this time it’s a casual Lancer), IDOLM@STER, Love Live! (I never stop wanting these girls, sigh), Free!, and Tales of. Plachta from Atelier Sophie was definitely a nice surprise, as I didn’t expect her to turn out so beautifully based on the sculpt. [UPDATE] Added some lovely bonus pictures from Hobby Maniax [via Dengeki & AmiAmi]

  • I will be honest: when it comes to Wonder Festival, I never really look forward to MegaHouse’s booth. They tend to save all their good stuff for their own event… which is MegaHobby! And that time has finally come. The star of the show was, of course, the amazing Suzaku & Lelouch duo they teased earlier. And my how beautiful these sculpts are. Of course they had all the usuals: Naruto (including the adorable Naruto Girls line), Dragon Ball Z, Gintama, Gundam, One Piece, and my new favorite from them… Zatch Bell. Check ’em all out in the gallery below! [UPDATE] They have also announced a new Pokemon figures: Ash with Greninja and Pikachu! [via AmiAmi’s Twitter & Dengeki]

  • MegaHobby Expo Spring 2017 is almost upon us! And by “almost upon us” I actually mean “3 weeks away but it’s never too early for teasers amirite.” Because MegaHouse is already teasing some of the announcements they will have there. And it’s something I am very excited for, because I am unrepentant Lelouch trash. They will be doing a matching set of Lelouch & Suzaku figures based on an absolutely stunning illustration from CLAMP themselves. How beautiful are these boys?! Behold my trash babies in all their glory. MegaHouse’s Code Geass figures have been consistently great so I can’t wait to see the sculpts. [via MegaHobby]
