  • We’ve seen all of the new goodies that Good Smile Company had a toy fair already, like Nendoroid Tracer, the Portal 2 figmas, and Nendoroid Link. But of course they had more than 3 figures out! That would be pretty odd, right? A big booth with just 3 things. Very ominous. Anyway, they had lots of their more US-centric licenses out on display, like the Naruto Nendoroids… which are USA only! Weird, right? But cool. There was also a lot of Zelda, Dota 2, Fire Emblem, Metroid, Suicide Squad, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and of course… that amazing Disney announcement. Check ’em all out below the jump!

  • We have seen a lot from Kotobukiya this year at NYCC. Everything from their panel announcements, Squirrel Girl, Harley Quinn ArtFX+, and the Chucky Bishoujo to their DC, Marvel, Star Wars, and anime figures. And we still have a few behind the glass galleries to come! But for now, we’ve got an overview of everything else they had out on display. Like their Edward Scissorhands Bishoujo (one of my all-time faves from the line), their Clash of Clans figures, Sniper Wold and Lucky Chloe, and the painted Rainbow Mika picture.

  • Good Smile Company had a small booth at San Diego Comic Con, but they managed to sneak in a few new goodies like Nathan Drake, the Suicide Squad Nendoroids, and Shredder & Bebop. But of course there was lots more going on! Many of the Wonder Festival exclusive figures were on display (and on sale!). They had the gorgeous huke Saber Alter, many of the newer Nendoroid & figma releases (especially video game related goodies), and that brand new Naruto announcement out & about. • We saw a lot of individual galleries from Good Smile Company this Toy Fair: figma Samus, the scaled Link, Batman & Superman Nendoroids, figma Yugi, the Zelda Nendoroid, and the Genos Nendoroid. But of course they brought so much more to the event! Like the amazingly goofy art-based figmas, the just-arrived Nendoroid Kirby (who was popular enough to get a re-release literally the day he came out), many of their Nintendo-based Nendoroids, and beautiful scaled figures like Dark Magician Girl and some of their many Mikus. We even got to see Zwyer’s Legend Of Korra figures. Check them all out in the gallery!

  • We already saw Kotobukiya’s two pieces of Bishoujo news at Toy Fair (the art for Wonder Girl and Thor & Loki), but of course there was lots more–including the newly painted Harley Quinn v2 and Spider Gwen. And my waifu Lucky Chloe. Perhaps most importantly, we got some interesting info about Bishoujo Chucky. A few people thought she was a bit too cutesy for a horror Bish, but never fear! She will come with a second face that’s all scarred/messed up like the real Chucky.

  • Welcome to another episode of “where the hell did all these figmas come from?” It’s like Nendoroids: there are just too many to keep track of. We brought you updates on a few of the big updates (Link, Deadpool, Gwendolyn). Sadly my dream figma, the Persona 3 MC, is still in the art phase while all these other guys are being announced. Life is so hard! But there’s lots of other cool things here. Like figma Ted! Just kidding, that thing is an abomination. Speaking of abominations there’s lots of Berserk news! Also Elsa, Caster, Metal Gear Solid, SAO, Samus, Kantai Collection, IDOLM@STER, Touken Ranbu, Fate/Grand Order, One Punch Man, and so much more! Hit the jump for the full gallery (and, like the Nendo roundup, a full list of all the figmas compiled by Stephen). [via WHL4U, sakai_max, shin_1, takeix, gsc_mamitan [1 2], amiami]

  • The Metal Gear Solid Bishoujo line was announced, with some surprise, at Toy Fair last year. We got updated art in July, and her sculpt popped up at NYCC. Based on past trends, I was expecting her painted around Toy Fair of next year, or maybe a little before that. Turns out it’s quite a bit before that, because she’s painted now! That was some fast turnaround. I guess I hadn’t really been paying much attention to the art, because she’s so much more green than I expected! The clothing, yes, but in my head she was regular blonde instead of olive-blonde. Which is not really a thing, but it is now! Plus she’s rocking some avante-garde chartreuse lipstick. I wonder who makes it? So fancy. I’m still not really feeling how unzipped her top is, but oh my god the base and the dog are still killing me. [via Kotobukiya’s Facebook]

  • We have already shown you a lot of the important announcements from Kotobukiya’s panel: Marvel and DC, the Thanos sculpt, and lots of Bishoujo news. But of course, there was lots more! And I do mean lots. Let’s start with PVC: they had info on the new Rage of Bahamut figures but, more excitingly, assurance that Vania will definitely not be the last one we’ll see from them. We had lots of Star Wars, of course, and Halo as well (along with an announcement for a new Halo series). There was also a whole lot of Bishoujos, comic statues, Alien figures, and everything in between. And last but not least, they said that they want to hear from fans about future merchandise! So you can head on over to a survey and let them know what you’d like to see down the pipeline.

  • There are a lot of game licenses that you’d think would be the perfect fit for the Bishoujo line. Soul Calibur, Final Fantasy (in my dreams), BlazBlue, Darkstalkers. I don’t know if Metal Gear Solid was on anyone’s list, since it seemed so unlikely, but here we are! With a shiny full gallery of Sniper Wolf, who we showed you a taste of earlier. I know there have been some complaints about her boobaliciousness but surprisingly I don’t mind them! I know, all I do is complain about boobs and here I’m like “ehh, they’re not floating?” I think I’m just distracted by the pose and AMAZING BASE. That little doggy, aww. So, bets on how long it will take before we get a Quiet Bishoujo?

  • You have to wonder why Nintendo (and other video game companies) took such a long time to open up their licenses. Given the huge success they’ve had with Bandai and Good Smile Company, can you imagine all the figures we could have had? I know, it’s a tragedy. But thankfully we have them now, and GSC has really been leading the pack. If you thought their Toy Fair display was impressive, wait till you see what they had for NYCC! Well, we saw that preview of the Link figma & scaled figure, but we have tons more pictures. Along with the Link figma and Toon Link Nendoroid, as well as figures from Mario, Kirby, Animal Crossing, Megaman, Fire Emblem… and more! Check them all out below.
