  • We’ve seen all of the new goodies that Good Smile Company had a toy fair already, like Nendoroid Tracer, the Portal 2 figmas, and Nendoroid Link. But of course they had more than 3 figures out! That would be pretty odd, right? A big booth with just 3 things. Very ominous. Anyway, they had lots of their more US-centric licenses out on display, like the Naruto Nendoroids… which are USA only! Weird, right? But cool. There was also a lot of Zelda, Dota 2, Fire Emblem, Metroid, Suicide Squad, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and of course… that amazing Disney announcement. Check ’em all out below the jump!

  • We’ve already shown you Pokemon figmas, Tracer and Genji from Overwatch, some new Fate/Grand Order figmas, Persona 5 figmas, and Utena, but it’s not a Wonder Festival if Max Factory and co don’t shove every possible franchise ever down our throats in poseable 1/12th scale form! When it comes to video games, we’ve got a lot between Crow from Gravity Daze 2, Ulala from Space Channel 5, Gwendolyn from Odin Sphere, Bloodborne and Dark Souls III, Ludens (who knows if this is even a game, but whatever), Kusanagi Kyo and Yagami Iori from King of Fighters, and the painted Metroid Prime 3: Corruption Samus. Then we’ve got like the entire cast of Love Live! Sunshine!! with Matsuura Kanan, Kurosawa Dia, Watanabe You, Tsushima Yoshiko, Kunikida Hanamaru, Ohara Mari, and Kurosawa Ruby so that you can recreate the show yourself a la Robot Chicken. Then continuing on with the anime we’ve got Rem and Ram from Re:Zero aka the same sculpt twice with super minor differences, but everyone’ll only buy Rem since she actually had a storyline unlike Ram, Tanya Degurechaff from Saga of Tanya the Evil (because Japan still has a hard on for little girls dressed up as the enemy from WWI or WWII), Klaus and Leonardo from the new season of Kekkai Sensen, Yukari Akiyama from Girls Un Panzer, and Misako Akeno from High School Fleet. Then from KanColle we’ve got three new entries with Yuudachi, Tokitsukaze, and Fubuki. FREEing also had a few figmas on hand with their massive Iron Fossil from Dariusburst as well as the Bubblegum Crisis Moto Slave and a figma ex:ride of Ray from Kikou Souseki Mospeada. Then over in experimental land we’ve got the amazing sculptor Takayuki Takeya taking on Devilman. Oh, but that’s not all. No. We also got *the best figma of all time*. What is it might you ask? What could be better than stuff like The Thinker? Oh, I’ll tell you. It’s the E233 Series Train. Yes, that’s right, it’s a literal figma of a train. Now everybody better hop on the figma train hypetrain before it leaves the station because woo boy I hope they make more trains to keep on with the ridiculous factor of having a figma train. • We’ve already had two figmas of Samus (Zero Suit and the original), which seems like it would be enough. I mean, we got in and out of the suit. What else do you need? Apparently… another one! This time it’s her Metroid Prime 3: Corruption appearance, which was announced a short while ago but just got shown off sculpted. I didn’t think it was possible for absurd anime proportions to make their way onto a clunky robot suit, but here we are. Her waist is… wow. It just seems very strange: is the top half of her chest and her shoulders super extra large? Did they condense her organs to microscopic sizes? Just imagine what the body in that suit looks like. It’s… it’s an alien, guys. I think something ate Samus and climbed on in there.

  • We saw a lot of individual galleries from Good Smile Company this Toy Fair: figma Samus, the scaled Link, Batman & Superman Nendoroids, figma Yugi, the Zelda Nendoroid, and the Genos Nendoroid. But of course they brought so much more to the event! Like the amazingly goofy art-based figmas, the just-arrived Nendoroid Kirby (who was popular enough to get a re-release literally the day he came out), many of their Nintendo-based Nendoroids, and beautiful scaled figures like Dark Magician Girl and some of their many Mikus. We even got to see Zwyer’s Legend Of Korra figures. Check them all out in the gallery!

  • When we first found out about figma Zero Suit Samus, I could have sworn we already had one. I mean, it makes perfect sense. GSC’s two favorite things at the moment are hot girls and Nintendo. What has both? Samus, that’s who! Plus the Max Factory figure of her was wildly successful, enough to get several re-releases. But nope, as everyone but me knew right away this is brand-new. I mean, we do have an in-suit figma of her (and a second on the sway) but this is the first time we get to see her face in figma form. And I have to say, her face sculpt looks amazing. I’m not a huge Zero Suit fan but even I can’t deny that she looks pretty great–if you don’t pay too much attention to the joints by her butt, a deficit all figmas in skintight outfits share.

  • Welcome to another episode of “where the hell did all these figmas come from?” It’s like Nendoroids: there are just too many to keep track of. We brought you updates on a few of the big updates (Link, Deadpool, Gwendolyn). Sadly my dream figma, the Persona 3 MC, is still in the art phase while all these other guys are being announced. Life is so hard! But there’s lots of other cool things here. Like figma Ted! Just kidding, that thing is an abomination. Speaking of abominations there’s lots of Berserk news! Also Elsa, Caster, Metal Gear Solid, SAO, Samus, Kantai Collection, IDOLM@STER, Touken Ranbu, Fate/Grand Order, One Punch Man, and so much more! Hit the jump for the full gallery (and, like the Nendo roundup, a full list of all the figmas compiled by Stephen). [via WHL4U, sakai_max, shin_1, takeix, gsc_mamitan [1 2], amiami]

  • Figmas: those tiny poseable things that Max Factory and a few other companies make a ton of every year. So without further adieu, here’s a super long list of em. We already told you about Shizuo and Izaya from Durarara!!, but we’ve also got word that FREEing will be doing Celty as well. Also from FREEing we’ve got Akira Yuki and Sarah Bryant from the original Virtua Fighter, Femto, Void, Ubik, Slan, and Conrad from Berserk, Magic Kaito from, well, Magic Kaito, the Vitruvian Man, and what appears to be some sort of cherub, but is way too tiny and also only an outline to be able to tell. Then from Wing we’ve got Masaru Nananakajima from Sexy Commando Gaiden: Sugoi yo!! Masaru-san that we already saw in their previews. From Phat! Company we’ve got Sherlock Holmes, Ninja Slayer, and Yamoto Koki who is also from Ninja Slayer. Finally, rounding out weird third parties making figmas we’ve got Tactical System Uniform Girl by Tomytec. Then from Max Factory we’ve got a whole slew of things: Angela Balzac, two versions of the Archetype, Benisuzume from Knights of Sidonia, Erica Hartmann, Mio Sakamoto, and Yoshika from Strike Witches, a Fubuki anime ver. and Prinz Eugen from KanColle, and Miho Nishizuma Uniform ver. from Girls Und Panzer to round out our selection of anthropomorphic military vehicle females. • This year at Toy Fair we already took a closer look at lots of Good Smile Company & Co’s goods: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Statues, Nendoroid Elsa, figma Sakura, figma Kirito, Nendoroid Mario, and Red Hood Miku. But they had tons more, and from many companies! It wasn’t just the usual umbrella there, but all the companies that they sell overseas including Gecco and Kaiyodo. The focus was definitely on American-friendly licenses and figures: lots of game merchandise, a ton of figmas and Nendoroids, and popular series like Fairy Tail and Kill la Kill. Check them all out in the gallery!

  • While Good Smile’s Nintendo collaboration started out rather slowly, with really just the two Samus figures, it started booming after they saw the skyrocketing prices the figma & statue were commanding on the after-market. Seriously, $150 for a figma is hella impressive. They had both of them along at Toy Fair to celebrate the recent re-releases, along with a few other Nintendo goodies like the adorable Luigi Nendoroid, figma Link, and (of course) the brand-new Nendoroid Link! I am so in love with this Nendo, and thrilled they went with the Wind Waker design instead of one of his more realistic incarnations. Cartooney adorableness!

Link is also getting another figma, this one based on his Link Between Worlds appearance (ugh). They’ll also be doing a follow up to Tharja, their first Fire Emblem figure. This time it’s Tiamo! Hell yes. [via Rrkksteel’s Instagram]
