Kotobukiya is so unpredictable with their Bishoujo announcements! We always know that big events in both the US & Japan will have a few, but they tend to spring totally finished figures on us out of nowhere. Like today, when we’re getting the fully sculpted and painted Kill Bill Bishoujo! Her art was over a year ago, so perhaps it’s not so surprising that we’re getting it before 2016 is over.
I was really sold by the art, but I’m not sure how I feel about the finished version. I feel like the face is missing the angst and attitude you expect from the Bride. It’s a little too placid for my taste, though I do think the pose & outfit came out looking very on-model and happily not overly sexed up.

Kotobukiya has brought us quite a few Deadpool figures in the past, but this is definitely the Deadpool to end all Deadpools. As the ‘Super’ in the title might have clued you into! As we saw at their panel, this figure comes with an insane amount of extras. From more weaponry than anyone needs to a fluffy red afro, he’s got it all.
But even without all the extras, this is an impressive piece. The pose is super dynamic and the scaffolding base gives a great diorama. I can just picture how amazing this will look on display!

There seems to be a pattern with me and the Horror Bishoujo line. When we first find out about an announcement, I’m skeptical (“cute girl Chucky?” I say to myself. “No thanks.”). The art is unveiled and I’m basically won over because it’s always so good. Then we get the sculpt, and I’m totally in love. It happened with Edward Scissorhands, and it’s happening again with Chucky, who I think I actually like the most of the line so far!
She’s just so adorable but also evil. The knife behind her back? Such a nice touch. Plus she comes with an alternate scarred head if you want a little more horror in your life. The sculpt here is just lovely, and we found out that Tiffany will be done by the same person so the two should fit together perfectly when they’re completed!

Given the huge number of DC movies on the horizon, I’m sure by next NYCC Kotobukiya’s booth will be flooded with them (though let’s be honest, I’m only hoping for Aquaman & Mera). But this year there was only one: the hugely impressive Batman vs Superman duo. I sure do hate that stumpy batsuit but it looks great on this scale!
We also had Bishoujos. Lots of Bishoujos. Both Harleys, Black Canary, Wonder Girl. We had the villains ArtFX+ (including their new star Harley Quinn), the Super Powers line, and their larger scale ArtFX statues. Check them all out below!

We saw a ton of new Star Wars info at Kotobukiya’s panel, and some of it was even out on display already! Like the Flametrooper, whose flamethrower is truly impressive as you can see here. Do you think it will be clear PVC? Because we all know how I feel about that. They had troopers of every possible combination (including a very cool storming-the-beach diorama from Rogue One), chopsticks of every variation, BB-8 ice cube trays, and much more!

The star of Kotobukiya’s Marvel display at NYCC was, of course, Squirrel Girl. But there was much more, including quite a few Bishoujos: Lady Deadpool, Spider Gwen, and Loki & Thor were all out and about. In fact, they had two Spider Gwens: Bishoujo and the new ArtFX+. For the first time ever, I think I might actually like the ArtFX+ better.
They had tons of statues out, like the Civil War battle diorama of Captain America and Iron Man (which would look amazing displayed with Hulkbuster). Check them all out in the gallery!

We’ve brought you quite a bit from Kotobukiya’s NYCC panel so far: Ms. Marvel Bishoujo, Katana Bishoujo, DC tv shows, Spike, Star Wars, Marvel, and DC. But there are always some assorted odds and ends left over!
They had information about a handful of their anime and game figures. None of it was that new, but we did get confirmation that the Street Fighter Bishoujo line would be continuing! They didn’t have a reveal here, but we were assured that Rainbow Mika is not the last one we’ll see. Along with that, we found out that the Horror Bishoujo line is also continuing! Again, no actual announcement, but they said there were “several interesting licenses” they were discussing. Which hopefully means not just one more Horror Bish, but a ton of them!

Of all the licenses that Kotobukiya tackled at their panel, Star Wars definitely had the most news and new merchandise. They’ve always done a lot with the franchise, but given that we have new, actually good movies I guess it’s not really a shock that we’re not getting bombarded with it! There’s a lot to cover so let’s jump right in.
We got the rough concept sculpts for the Finn & Rey ArtFX+, along with an announcement for Poe & BB-8 and Chewbacca and Han!. They also had the sculpt for the Obi-Wan ArtFX+, along with the tragically hilarious news that he will come with an empty cape to display if you prefer Dead-Kenobi. They had quite a few new troopers: thew Snowtrooper & Flametrooper 2 pack, FN-2199, Scarif Stormtrooper, Death Trooper 2-pack, and a Death Trooper ArtFX. They will also be expanding the Droid line with R4 and R5 sculpts!

We got some very exciting DC-related announcements at Kotobukiya’s panel (Bishoujo Katana and the TV show teasers). But given how massive their DC lines are, it’s no surprise that there was a ton more! Like the affordable retro Super Powers figures, their villains ArtFX+ line (including the brand-new Harley Quinn–and a new sculpt for Black Manta), and their ArtFX statues.
We also got a little more info about the Ikemen line. It was a pretty big deal when announced, and they discussed how happy fan response has been along with the potential of the line. If the Bat-Boys sell well enough, they will definitely be continuing with other characters!
