  • As a company, MegaHouse absolutely bamboozles me. On one hand we have their cute, nostalgic, simple-but-well-made lines like their amazing Digimon and Pokemon figures, which were both out and about at MegaHobby. Then they bust out the occasional magnificent sculpt, like our header girl: Airi from Queen’s Blade! I cannot explain my excitement when I saw her: I always wanted a great Airi figure but assumed that time had come & gone long ago. But no, MegaHouse to the rescue! Then we have the other half of their line: the painfully tacky and often out-of-character girls, especially from beloved shows like Naruto and Dragonball Z. They’ve butchered so many of my faves. Just look at that Hinata. It hurts my soul. And I remember C.C in a lot more clothing, don’t you? The One Piece girls obviously fall into this category: the anatomy has gotten so bad that I kind of think it’s some big elaborate joke. The sculpting for this “side” of them is often simple to a fault and looks like it could have been from 8 years ago. Put Airi, the new Digimon boys, and that awful stripper pole Nami together: do they look like the same company? What is going on with MegaHouse?!?! [via moeyo]

  • MegaHouse is absolutely the most consistent manufacturer at any event. You can guess before seeing anything what 90% of their figures will be. We’ve got One Piece, Digimon, Pokemon, Gintama, Naruto, Tiger & Bunny, Kuroko no Basket. Of course they always throw us a few curveballs (no Dragon Ball Z?!) and at least one pleasant surprise. This time around it’s C.C from Code Geass! Of course her dress is coming off because recently MH has been incapable of making a female character who isn’t halfway disrobed or busting out of her top. Android 18, Chi Chi, now C.C…. sigh….. she’s sexy enough already! [via girlshobby]

  • I will be honest: when it comes to Wonder Festival, I never really look forward to MegaHouse’s booth. They tend to save all their good stuff for their own event… which is MegaHobby! And that time has finally come. The star of the show was, of course, the amazing Suzaku & Lelouch duo they teased earlier. And my how beautiful these sculpts are. Of course they had all the usuals: Naruto (including the adorable Naruto Girls line), Dragon Ball Z, Gintama, Gundam, One Piece, and my new favorite from them… Zatch Bell. Check ’em all out in the gallery below! [UPDATE] They have also announced a new Pokemon figures: Ash with Greninja and Pikachu! [via AmiAmi’s Twitter & Dengeki]

  • I tend to think of MegaHouse as a company that thrives on nostalgia. If it’s a new series, they hardly give it the time of day: it’s all about our childhood shows and long-running anime. So imagine my surprise at their big MegaHobby announcement: Yuri on Ice figures! If you told me they would be the first to hop on what I’m sure will be an insane figure hype-train, I would have laughed, but here we are. Of course they had a ton of nostalgia going on too. Their full Pokemon line was out, looking impressive, and showing off the Ash & Charizard figure we’ve all been waiting for. Plus a huge Digimon one too! Sadly, the new Android 18 is just as tacky and inaccurate as the first, but it’s kind of countered by a non-boobytastic Tsunade. Also a recolor of their gorgeous Elf!We’ve got Sailor Moon, Zatch Bell, One Piece, Naruto, D. Gray-Man, Space Battleship Yamato, Gundam, and so much more. Check them all out in the gallery! • The star of MegaHouse’s booth was clearly their perfect Sailor Moon, and while that alone was enough to sway my heart they also had some other stuff. Like Dragonball Z, One Piece, Gundam, Naruto, Digimon… all the stuff we expect at this point. But we also got some cool announcements, like Zatch Bell figures (!!). Along with a beautiful Liko from Active Raid, who looks like a fancy Vocaloid and I am totally on board with that. Also with the lil Naruto tailed beasts, how cute is that? [via AmiAmi]

  • Since MegaHobby Expo is basically an event hosted by MegaHouse, you see a lot of them at events. A LOT. In fact, I think at least half the figures we saw at it were from them. And to be honest, I’m usually so unimpressed by their offerings that I breeze right on through. But this year? They’re stepping it up! We already saw the new Pokemon figures but they had a ton of goodies. First up we’ve got their Gundam Wing figures painted. I feel like I’ve been waiting so long for these! We also have a few new Digimon figures and an announcement for Daisuke & Veemon. Their Lunch is painted (and actually two separate figures!), we’ve got a brand-new adult Hinata, tons of One Piece, and so much more. Check them all out in the gallery! [UPDATE] Added Android 18. I have to say, I’m kind of disappointed in this line after seeing her & Lunch(s). They’re really pushing the sex appeal and I know DBZ has its moments but it’s also a kid’s show! My nostalgia is being Rule 34’d. [via AmiAmi’s Twitter & whitenoize]

  • It’s finally happened, guys! Magazine scans that aren’t 90% MegaHouse and 10% stuff we don’t care about. But you know what they say: be careful what you wish for. Sure, there’s lots of companies here, but there’s almost nothing new. Usually we get at least one or two figure reveals and a lot of new sculpts/paint. This time? Yeah, almost all of this was at Wonder Festival. We have some figmas, FREEing’s Lyrical Nanoha figures (I feel like we haven’t had a scaled Nanoha girl in ages!), lots of Love Live!, some Kantai Collection, and of course lots of MegaHouse-centered pages. Almost all of MH’s stuff is One Piece or Dragonball Z (their new Bulma is painted!), though the new Digimon trading figures did make an appearance. What is up with them? Why a toilet? • Ah, MegaHouse. I love to hate you. They make a mix of things I don’t care about at all (the anatomy on One Piece ladies continues to bamboozle me) and things I want more than life itself (Pokemon, Digimon, Sailor Moon). Then they go and have middling quality, outrageous prices, and make half their stuff exclusive! MegaHouse, you’re killing me. And once again at WonFest: they’re killing me! The bikini Bikini Warriors girls (now that is a strange phrase) are so gorgeous. And, of course, will be exclusive. We also have the usual Naruto, One Piece, Gintama, & Dragonball Z, along with a new announcement: the boys from Ensemble Stars!. [via amiami]

  • A new year, a new batch of magazine scans! Sadly with 2016 we aren’t getting any good changes. AKA, it’s still almost all MegaHouse. I miss old scans so bad, guys, but I need to get over it! Just appreciate what we’ve got! Because there’s a lot of nostalgia here. I mean, there’s the usual One Piece figures (including some totally over the top anatomy as per usual), yet another figma Kirito (we totally need that), and Alpha x Omega’s Eri! Then… nostalgia train. We’ve got Digimon, Dragonball Z, and Pokemon. Lots and lots of Pokemon. Ash and Misty are here, of course, with basically no updates. But we’ve got new ones! Cynthia will be joining the line, along with Steven Stone! Talk about characters I never expected to see in figure form. And why is Metagross so freaking tiny? But whatever. More Pokemon. Not gonna complain. [via takezo1101’s Twitter]

  • MegaHouse is the company that runs MegaHobby Expo, but somehow they’re always the company I’m least excited to cover. I mean, they had some great stuff (like the Pokemon and Digimon figures we already saw) but overall they’re just kind of… lackluster? There are some kind of cool announcements, like the fact that we’re getting bikini figures of the Bikini Warriors girls–they showed off Mage and Paladin! But overall? Yeah, not too pumped. I think that’s because there is a big focus on shows like One Piece and Gintama, which are just not my jam. But if you are a fan, this was a great event! We have announcements for quite a few new P.O.Ps, including (another) bikini Nami, a lounging Sanji, and Trafalgar Law… as a girl? There’s also a new Bulma–after years of Bulma figure drought, we’re now (happily) drowning in her! Also the reveal of a Sailor Saturn Petit Chara Deluxe. Funny that they’re doing her before any of the other senshi! Last but not least, we’re getting figures of┬áRelena Peacecraft and Heero Yuy from Alpha x Omega! Aw yeah Gundam Wing. MegaHouse will also be making Asuka Sugou from Shin Seiki GPX Cyber Formula. [via figsoku]
