  • Few things go together as well (and often) as Good Smile Company and the Fate/Stay Night franchise. And of course they had a massive amount at this Wonder Festival, so let’s just dive right in! We’re getting Nendoroids of Merlin, Miyamoto Musashi, Ishtar, and Elizabeth Bathory, along with figmas of Rider of Black, Jeanne d’Arc Alter, and Saber of Red. Onto my favorite, the scales! Good Smile will be giving us Altria Pendragon (who looks stunning), Mash Kyrielight: Heroic Spirit Formal Dress Ver (what a short and concise name!), Mash Kyrielight ~Dangerous Beast~, and Altria Pendragon on a motorcycle. From Max Factory we will get Jeanne d’Arc Alter Dress Version and a soft vinyl Paul Bunyan (who is a Berserker–were they inspired by IT?). Last but not least, Orange Rouge is giving us two boys: Gilgamesh and the original Lancer! A little something for everyone, no? [via whl4u]

  • Orange Rouge, aka Touken Ranbu: The Company, has a lot of… wait for it… Touken Ranbu figures at Wonder Festival this year! So many. And their names are so long. So let’s start with the non-TR boys. Like their stunning Aoba! What a beauty. They also announced Yuri on Ice Nendoroids of coach version Victor and a wintry Yuri. We’ve got Nendo Tatara Fujita from Welcome to Ballroom, Banri Sttsu from A3!, and 3 Fate/Grand Order boys. As for Touken Ranbu, we have scales of Izuminokami Kanesada, Juzumaru Tsunetsugu (who is also getting a Nendo), Higekiri (+ Nendo), Ichigo Hitohuri, and Imanotsurugi. We also have Nendoroids for Uguisumaru,  Nikkari Aoe, Hizamaru, Taikogane Sadamune, and Kasen Kanesada, along with a super cute Petit Nendoroid set with a ton of the boys in it. [via whl4u]

  • Anime Expo is one of the few US conventions where we actually get toy news from Japanese companies. I mean, you also have to be in LA in the middle of the summer, so there are pluses and minuses to actually going. Thankfully, we always get up-to-the minute updates from Good Smile & co so us plebes can see all the goodies they have out and about. This year we’ve got quite a bit from GSC. Previews of newly painted sculpts like the Bloodborne figma, Nendoroid Rapunzel, and Nendoroid Al. Plus we have some new brand new announcements, like Little Witch Academia Nendoroids. Check them all out in the gallery below! [via GSC’s Twitter]

  • For a few years now I have bemoaning the downfall of festival exclusives. It seems like companies never have anything big and fancy. Well, GSC is making me eat my words for this Summer Wonder Festival because they pulled out ALL the stops. First off, finally the return of scaled figures! And what an unexpected one. Max Factory is re-releasing their famous (and rare) Kasumi in 1/20 scale in the PLAMAX line. She’ll retail for ¥3,000. Kaiyodo will also have a new Wonda-chan for ¥9,800. We have quite a few Nendoroids. There’s the updated Reimu from Touhou Project (¥5,000) and a set of Asuna & Kirito O.S Versions (¥5,500 for the set). Sadly, these will not be available online and are only at Wonder Festival, Anime Expo, Japan Expo, CCG Expo, Shanghai ChinaJoy, and 2017 18th Comic Exhibition. Everything else will be available online right after the event, which is July 30th. As for regular Nendoroids, there’s a super cute Yuri Katsuki who will get a matching Vincent. Then we have the Nendoroid More Dress Up Wedding Elegant Version (what a mouthful) and the penguin face case which I really need in my life. Last, but not least, is WATER GUN SABER FIGMA. Amazing. Perfect. Wonderful. ¥5,500. For the first time in a while, I want the vast majority of these! [via whl4u]

  • Do you like Touken Ranbu? There are like 500 characters in it and I think Orange Rouge plans on making them all. They had Urashima Kotetsu, Mikazuki Munechika Awakened Ver., Nikkari Aoe, Heshikiri Hasebe, and Hizamaru sculpted. Along with announcements for Izuminokami Kanesada, Juzumaru Tsunetsugu, Ichigo Hitofuri, Yamanbagiri Kunihiro, Hachisuka Kotetsu, and Horikawa Kunihiro. Don’t like Touken Ranbu? Well, we’ve got… like 2 things for you, but they’re pretty amazing. There’s a figure of all the Osomatsu brothers, and an announcement for a wickedly suave Aoba Seragaki from DRAMAtical Murder. • Yuri on Ice!!! was one of the runaway shows of 2016 that captured many anime fans’ hearts (mine included) with amazing storytelling and gorgeous animation, so it’s no surprise that we’re seeing loads of merchandise from the show now. First up Orange Rouge will be making Nendoroids of both Yuris and Victor, which look adorable! I love Yuri’s little teeny tiny outfit and Victor’s suave sex appeal in Nendoroid form is quite hilarious and well executed. No sculpt of Yuri #2 aka Yurio yet, but he better come with pirozhki as an accessory! Next up is the long awaited and teased Victor scaled figure by MegaHouse in their G.E.M. line that looks perfect. His face sculpt is spot on, the gentle action pose sums him up perfectly as a character, and all around this looks to be the figure to get if you’re a fan of the show. Last, but not least, Toy’s Works announced that they’ll be making scaled figures of all three characters, but they showed nothing more than that. Lots of figures to tide us over though, thankfully, before an inevitable season two! [via whl4u, AmiAmi’s Twitter, and Yuri On Ice Goods’ Twitter]

  • I know Orange Rouge is Good Smile Company’s all-male figure line, but it really seems like their all-Touken Ranbu figure line at the moment. Just SO much stuff from that franchise! And of course they’re not done yet–I expect at least 10 Touken Ranbu related announcements at Wonder Festival, and we’re getting three today. These are part of a Nendoroid Co-De line, so technically it’s all-new! And will be cheap, which is nice for fans. We’ll be getting Mikazuki Munechika, Sayo Samonji, and Yamanbagiri Kunihiro. Sayo is so adorable with his blue hair! The original Touken Nendroids are some of the most detailed GSC has ever produced, I wonder if that quality will carry through to the Co-De line? [Update: Only Mikazuki is Co-De, the rest are part of the regular Nendo line! Thanks, jellybean~] [via Orange Rouge’s Twitter]

  • Summer Wonder Festival is over a month away, so it seems pretty early for a company to be unveiling the goodies they’d have at the show. But here we are, with a full reveal from Good Smile Company! Welcome to WonFest 2016: the Nendoing. So many Nendos, guys. Let’s jump right in: we’ve got Saber in her Fate/Grand Order incarnation (¥5,000), a particularly hideous recolor of Mega Man (¥4,800), a jumbo Miku Hatsune (¥15,000), and re-releases of many of the Nendoroid Plus extra outfits: wedding (¥900 a pop), cheerleader (¥900), swimsuit (¥800), and pajama (¥700). Phew! Then the figmas: they’ll be releasing 15th anniversary archetype figmas of both the male and female bodies (¥3,200 each), along with Yuuki from Sword Art Online (¥5,500). We’ll also be getting a set of Osomatsu-san trading figures from Orange Rouge (¥4,000). I have to say, I’m kind of disappointed: everything is either a recolor or a different version of a character we’ve seen before, plus no scaled figures! Do you plan to order any of these when they open up on July 24th? [via Wonderful Hobby Life]

  • Cheerful Japan was Good Smile Company’s charity line that they started up right after the earthquake & Fukushima disaster several years ago: a selection of Nendoroids & figures in cute cheer uniforms, with a large chunk of the profit going towards relief efforts. Now, after the Kumamoto earthquake, they’re reviving the line for a very good cause. While we don’t know how many months they plan to do this for, we have at least one new release: Orange Rouge’s Nendoroid Mikazuki Munechika, now with a super freaking cute face and fans. He retails for ¥3,889, with ¥1,000 of that going towards the relief project (25%, wow!). Orders are open right now and will stay open until May 18th. And as a sneaky bonus, the original and highly sought after Cheerful Miku is getting a re-release too!
