  • Prize figures have always been appealing: you get a cheap version of a popular character, often in an outfit that we’d never see in scales. Plus, the quality gets better and better on them every year. With rising scaled figure prices and a worsening exchange rate, prize figures are looking better than ever, so it’s a good thing the upcoming lineup of them seems amazing! We have all the regulars out and about: Evangelion, Kantai Collection, Sword Art Online, Fate/Grand Order, Bakemonogatari, Miku, Lupin, and many many more. The noodle topper ones really seem to be taking the prize world by storm: I have a few and can vouch for how amazingly fun they are to display all sorts of odd ways. Any of them catch your eye? • Do you like Touken Ranbu? There are like 500 characters in it and I think Orange Rouge plans on making them all. They had Urashima Kotetsu, Mikazuki Munechika Awakened Ver., Nikkari Aoe, Heshikiri Hasebe, and Hizamaru sculpted. Along with announcements for Izuminokami Kanesada, Juzumaru Tsunetsugu, Ichigo Hitofuri, Yamanbagiri Kunihiro, Hachisuka Kotetsu, and Horikawa Kunihiro. Don’t like Touken Ranbu? Well, we’ve got… like 2 things for you, but they’re pretty amazing. There’s a figure of all the Osomatsu brothers, and an announcement for a wickedly suave Aoba Seragaki from DRAMAtical Murder. • It’s almost fall, and you know what that means–new season, new Prize Fair. They’re on the 45th already, if you can believe it! And like always, the big 4 (FuRyu, Taito, SEGA, & Banpresto) had all the upcoming prize figures out on display. I always try to swear off prize figures, but like clockwork there are one or two that draw me back in. This time, funnily enough, it’s a collab I’ve basically ignored because I’m interested: the Madogatari figures. That Kiss-Shot in Homura garb, hnnng! There’s lots of other great stuff, and of course all the regulars (Evangelion, Miku, KanColle, Disney, Dragon Ball Z) were out in force. Check them all out in the gallery below! [via Dengeki]

  • Summer Wonder Festival is over a month away, so it seems pretty early for a company to be unveiling the goodies they’d have at the show. But here we are, with a full reveal from Good Smile Company! Welcome to WonFest 2016: the Nendoing. So many Nendos, guys. Let’s jump right in: we’ve got Saber in her Fate/Grand Order incarnation (¥5,000), a particularly hideous recolor of Mega Man (¥4,800), a jumbo Miku Hatsune (¥15,000), and re-releases of many of the Nendoroid Plus extra outfits: wedding (¥900 a pop), cheerleader (¥900), swimsuit (¥800), and pajama (¥700). Phew! Then the figmas: they’ll be releasing 15th anniversary archetype figmas of both the male and female bodies (¥3,200 each), along with Yuuki from Sword Art Online (¥5,500). We’ll also be getting a set of Osomatsu-san trading figures from Orange Rouge (¥4,000). I have to say, I’m kind of disappointed: everything is either a recolor or a different version of a character we’ve seen before, plus no scaled figures! Do you plan to order any of these when they open up on July 24th? [via Wonderful Hobby Life]

  • Osomatsu-san is undoubtedly the hot license of the moment, so it was no surprise when D-trade announced a figure of Ichimatsu. I will admit that I was a bit disappointed when I saw it, though, because no cat! What is he without a kitty companion? Well, our prayers have been answered, because D-trade is giving us a cat-tastic Ichimatsu. And all the other brothers. That’s right, you can have scaled figures of every one of them! And unlike some figures from the show (*cough*figmas*cough*) they all have different sculpts and are unique. A cool idea, but I wonder what the whole set will cost… [via D-trade’s Twitter]

  • Miyazawa Model Expo is an event I forget about every year. I can tell you exactly when Wonder Festival and MegaHobby are, but Miyazawa Model? Yeah, it’s the event that time forgot. Or Leah’s brain, whichever. As always, Good Smile Company and their umbrella manufacturers brought a ton of goodies to the event. We have figmas and Nendoroids out the wazoo, including some newly painted and sculpted goodies. Phat! and Max Factory brought many of their gorgeous IDOLM@STER girls, including MF’s Ranko who is so very swoon-worthy. We’ve got giant girls from FREEing (man, Hestia’s cast-off is painfully noticeable), Good Smile’s Link, and tons more. Check them out in the gallery below! [via Digitamin]

  • Osomatsu-san hype is sweeping the figure world, with everything from figmas to Nendoroids to trading figures (but no scaled–yet). However, figures don’t keep you warm when it’s cold outside, so enter these new goodies: Osomatsu-san hoodies! And not just any hoodies. CAT HOODIES. With cat ears. That you can put a cat inside of. Amazing, right? There’s two colors: Ichimasu Matsuno (purple) and ESP Nyanko (orange). They’ve got all kinds of amazing details, like the holes for your kitty claws and the images on the back. But they won’t come cheap: retail is ¥7,500 and they are an Animate exclusive, which means you need a proxy. But for a pocket specifically for your cat? Worth it. [via Unihabitat]

We have some announcements: Fate/Apocrypha‘s Jeanne d’Arc (yay!), Aoba Suzukane from New Game!, and Aqua from Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku o!. We also have some updated sculpts. Ainz Ooal Gown from Overlord is painted, as is Kogane Asabuki from Bubuki Buranki. Also Matsuno Osomatsu is sculpted, so I’m sure all the other brothers are to follow! We also have one of Miku’s Co-De outfits all painted up. [UPDATE] Added some up-close shots, and also a second Miku! [via Kahotan & AmiAmi]

  • Osomatsu-san is definitely this season’s anime darling. The comedy about a group of sextuplets is not only a fan-favorite, but one that has been getting a ton of merchandise attention (unlike some other currently popular series *cough*Erased*cough*). We’ve seen basically every kind of merch possible: cups, pins, badges, towels, dakimakuras. But no figures! Thankfully we did see a good bit of them at Wonder Festival, which means that will soon change. Starting, no surprise, with Good Smile Company, which is often the first company on the scene. They’re bringing us a set of trading figures (or rather Orange Rouge, their all-boy company, is). I first thought these were Nendoroid Petits, but they are actually smaller! Half the size, in fact. So teeny, so cute. The full set will have all six of them: Osomatsu, Karamatsu, Choromatsu, Ichimatsu, Jyushimatsu, and Todomatsu. They’ll be going up for order tonight! [via Kahotan]

  • Like every year, there are too many Nendoroids. We showed you some: Sakura, Batman & Supes, Deadpool, Meta Knight, Zelda, Hotaru, and of course my boo Kylo. But there’s more. So much more, guys, I wanna cry whenever I look at this gallery. It’s TOO MANY. But, you know, they’re all cute. We’ve got more Kantai Collection Nendos than anyone needs, lots of boys from Orange Rouge including, of course, Touken Ranbu out the butt, the adorable Ainz from Overlord, Nendoroid Co:de outfits for Miku Hatsune, Fire Emblem, Mega Man, and SO MUCH MORE. Because there are so many, we have both the full gallery after the jump AND a full list of everyone (compiled by Stephen, because you all know I am too lazy for that).
