Overlord Archive

  • I always have very strong opinions about Alter’s event displays. Usually their Wonder Festival lineups disappoint me, because they save all the good stuff for MegaHobby. But not in 2018! We have a really killer batch of figures from my favorite manufacturer. Many of them are what you’d expect: we have quite a few Fate/Stay Night figures (including the gorgeous header Saber, a reclining Mash Kyrielight, the sculpt for Edmond Dantes, and their absolutely epic Jeanne d’Arc Alter), finally the painted Okoi, an IDOLM@STER announcement (Asuka Ninomiya), and two To LOVEru cuties (Haruna once again and a lingerie Momo). But of course there were surprises as well! Like the elaborate bunnygirl version of Narberal Gamma from Overlord II, and some from-left-field announcements like Vampire from Azur Lane and Teletha Testarossa from Full Metal Panic! I know some people have been waiting a LONG time for Panic figures. Check out all of them and more after the jump! [via figsoku]

  • The sculpt for Albedo was love at first sight for me. I am such a sucker for wings, and hers might be the nicest sculpted ones I’ve ever laid eyes on. I mean, the detail level is just absurd! So of course I was basically foaming at the mouth to see her painted and get that order in. Well, that day is here and… I’m not as excited as I thought I would be. This is no fault of the figure: I’d never watched Overlord, so I thought her colors would be a bit more dramatic. White dress and black wings? I mean, it’s nice, but I feel like the white makes the sculpt look a little washed out. It also highlights one of my biggest pet peeves: clothing you can see a belly button through yet is magically not skintight anywhere else. Japan, why do you hurt me? Albedo retails for ¥17,600 and is thankfully not an exclusive! Her release date is way off in December, so you have a long time to save up for this beauty. Pre-Order At: HLJ | AmiAmi | GSC (bonus item)

  • Good Smile Company has been keeping the sculpt for their Albedo tightly under wraps. She was at Wonder Festival, but with a strict “do not photograph” rule. Finally, we got to see her full reveal to the public at NYCC! Which is unusual, because of course it’s a US event. I was so excited to finally see her up close and free from her glass prison. The sculpt is just stunning–every wing lovingly detailed, the swath of flowing hair, her soft fluttering skirt, the elaborate pedestal base. Though I am admittedly not a fan of her dress design (dreamcatcher boob window, why?) that’s certainly not a fault of the figure and I can overlook it for wings like that. Especially if their might be some clear PVC involved.

  • At recent events, Good Smile Company has had their figure of Albedo from Overlord on display, but with clear Do Not Photograph signs. People who have seen her in person say the sculpt is amazing, but all we’ve had so far is blurry distant shots. Finally at NYCC she was revealed to the masses and available for pictures! And holy shit is she gorgeous. That sculpt! The wings alone are worth whatever high price she will command. I could do without her weird boob cage dreamcatcher thing (who was responsible for this character design?) but everything else? Yes. Please. I want her RIGHT NOW. She’s also huge, so while she’s listed as 1/8 it’s really closer to 1/7.

  • If there is an event where Good Smile Company is at attendance, you can bet that there will be Nendoroids. So many Nendoroids. We have some announcements: Fate/Apocrypha‘s Jeanne d’Arc (yay!), Aoba Suzukane from New Game!, and Aqua from Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku o!. We also have some updated sculpts. Ainz Ooal Gown from Overlord is painted, as is Kogane Asabuki from Bubuki Buranki. Also Matsuno Osomatsu is sculpted, so I’m sure all the other brothers are to follow! We also have one of Miku’s Co-De outfits all painted up. [UPDATE] Added some up-close shots, and also a second Miku! [via Kahotan & AmiAmi]

  • Like every year, there are too many Nendoroids. We showed you some: Sakura, Batman & Supes, Deadpool, Meta Knight, Zelda, Hotaru, and of course my boo Kylo. But there’s more. So much more, guys, I wanna cry whenever I look at this gallery. It’s TOO MANY. But, you know, they’re all cute. We’ve got more Kantai Collection Nendos than anyone needs, lots of boys from Orange Rouge including, of course, Touken Ranbu out the butt, the adorable Ainz from Overlord, Nendoroid Co:de outfits for Miku Hatsune, Fire Emblem, Mega Man, and SO MUCH MORE. Because there are so many, we have both the full gallery after the jump AND a full list of everyone (compiled by Stephen, because you all know I am too lazy for that).
