@GeekeryDo: @mikeyturvey I agree with you. I stopped reading them because I got tired of it, though @Sir_Narwhal is correct that it's normal for comics.

@GeekeryDo: @Sir_Narwhal @mikeyturvey yeh but that's just one arc and it's easy to read it all since, as you said, it's been put together like that.

@NFern0: @Sir_Narwhal Sounds like (ohoho) specialist equipment. Black Friday is more mass consumer oriented isn't it?

Touhou Project is already full of adorable girls, but of course you can never have too much cute, so Penguin Parade & Algernon Product have amped up the moe factor by adding them to their Petanko line. Aka the line where everyone is an adorable loli! Two “volumes” (aka sets) are getting released at once, so let’s start with Volume 2. It includes Satori Komeji, Koishi Komeji, Patchouli Knowledge, Kaguya Houraisan, Yuyuko Saigyouji Yuka Kazami, Aya Shameimaru, Reimu Hakurei, and Cirno, as well as a secret release. And if you buy a set on AmiAmi you get a bonus Sakuya Izayoi! A case of these rubber straps doesn’t come cheap though, retailing at ¥5,780 a pop with a September release date. At least you get all ten!
Volume 3 comes with Yukari Yakumo, Ran Yakumo, Chen, Suika Ibuki, Hanaoogi Ibaraki, Suwako Moriya, Tensh Hinanai, Marisa Kirisame, Youmu Konpaku, and a secret figure, as well as the AmiAmi bonus Nofuto Mononobe. It retails for the same price as Volume 2 on AmiAmi with a November release date. This set contains almost all of my favorite Touhou girls (Yukari, Ran, Chen, Suika, Marisa & Tenshi) and Volume 2 contains pretty much the rest of them (Cirno, Aya, Sakuya) so this is pretty tempting despite the high price!

Welcome, Plastikitties, to the shortest PVC Pre-Order Roundup in our (admittedly brief) history! We have a whopping nine figures this week. Most likely this is because of Wonder Festival preparations, and most companies are too busy getting new samples ready to do promotional shots. Of course we’ll be doing coverage of figures at WonFest as they appear, but for now it’s time to talk about things you can actually buy. We still have some good figures here, so let’s hit the jump to get started!

While I have no love for Penguin Parade’s scaled figures, you really can’t deny the appeal of their ridiculously adorable Petanko line. We saw these two sculpted in late December, and it seems like they are already complete–which, granted, is a bit odd, as Penguin Parade announced 5 additions to the Petanko line back at Summer WonFest that aren’t done yet.
In any case, this form is perfect for Marisa and Reimu. While simpler designs tend to look rather bland when chibified, the detail on these two certainly hasn’t suffered. Marisa’s hat is even removable, and given that she is around Nendoroid size I am sure you could find a lot of alternate uses for it! While no release info is available, it’s safe to say that these will be in some way exclusive (though they will probably be on AmiAmi) and will retail for ¥2,300.

Kuroneko’s alternate form, Holy Angel Kamineko, is surprisingly popular. We’ve seen a figma of her and a scaled figure from Max Factory, and now Penguin Parade is doing a recolor of their Kuroneko Petanko to put her in the white cat outfit! Sadly for Kuroneko fans, this was an exclusive for Comiket 81 and there are only 100 piece. That’s pretty damn limited! Each one retails for ¥2,500 and I assume these went incredibly fast. It’s a shame, because I really would have liked to own one of these cuties!

Penguin Parade’s Petanko line pretty much sells just because the figures in it are ridiculously adorable. It’s a nicely simple concept: chibified versions of popular characters, all in the same pose, and for a very cheap price. So far we’ve seen Kirino and Kuroneko, who actually just got released, and Kuroko and Mikoto have gone up for order. A few more are planned, including Millhiore from Dog Days, characters from Nichijou, and apparently Reimu and Marisa!
There’s never been an official announcement for these two, yet here they are! I’m surprised they are working on these before the rest of the announced girls in the line, but they look so freaking cute I doubt anyone will complain.
