  • Bandai has given us a lot of Pokemon S.H.Figaurts in the past, but they have all been of the actual ‘mons and not the human characters. An odd decision, considering how much easier it is to articulate a human than a giant lizard! But the day has finally come when we get Ash & co. Or at least Ash, Jessie, and James. Weird combo to start out with, but I can dig it. Ash comes with, of course, Pikachu, and Jessie & James have Meowth. The accessories are minimal (this is Bandai we’re talking about), but still cute–like the dizzy face for Meowth! There is an exclusive set of all 3 that includes an extra crying face for Ash, but you will need a proxy to get it. Thankfully there are non-exclusives up for the rest of us! Ash retails for ¥4,500 and the Jessie & James set is ¥9,500, while the exclusive will cost you ¥13,000. All 3 are set for a July release. [via Tamashii nations]

  • Kotobukiya always brings out the goods for Wonder Festival, and this year is no exception! We have a great lineup of figures here, starting with of course the painted Protagonist from Persona 5. Yes, my beauty, come home to me. In other game news, we have their new Pokemon girls! Or, well, one of them sculpted, and the outline of the other. The Caster/Lancer from their teasers is here, and looking adorable. We’ve also got a few old announcements finally painted: Vira from Granblue Fantasy (give to me now yes), RyuuZU from Clockwork Planet, and Charlotte from Shironeko Project. There’s a new Girls und Panzer bikini line: Anchovy is painted, and Alice Shimada will be joining her soon. In other new announcements, they will be doing Victor from Yuri on Ice!! Check ’em all out below. [via AmiAmi’s Twitter]

  • Lillie from Pokemon Sun & Moon is already surprisingly popular at Wonder Festival. First she got a Nendoroid, and now she’s the latest addition to MegaHouse’s Pokemon G.E.M series! Which, so far, has been absolutely amazing: reasonably priced and widely available, yes please. I think my favorite thing about this announcement is seeing the whole line all together. It’s so colorful and nostalgic! I wonder how big it will get, and who will be added next? Who would you like to see? [via mega_girlshobby]

  • Since Good Smile Company launched the Pokemon Nendoroid line, I think we’ve all wanted a little more. Sure, the figures are great, but by more I mean… give us 5 figures at a time ’cause us Pokefans will buy them all. And it looks like our dreams of going broke over plastic ‘mons can finally come true! We had 4 Poke-announcements from GSC at Wonder Festival. We’ll be getting a figma of Red, a Nendoroid of Ash, a Nendoroid of Lillie, and a Pokemon More set with Pikachu! What will this entail? A bunch of tiny Pokemons? Just Pikachu? Time will tell. • MegaHouse’s Pokemon line really seems like a love letter to fans. Unlike their other nostalgia-fueld lines, they aren’t phoning in the sculpts or making everything exclusive (you know, like Sailor Moon and Digimon). Nope, they’re just bringing us colorful and affordable figures of a franchise we all passionately love! This time around it’s that amazing Ash & Charizard figure they previewed a while back. This is the biggest one in the line so far, and unless they do like Groudon or something I don’t think it will be topped. I mean, just look at it with all the others in the line! I have to admit, I barely order figures anymore but this entire line is an auto-buy for me. Ash & Charizard retail for ¥8,900 and are set for a June release date. Pre-Order At: HLJ | AmiAmi

  • The Pokemon Center in Japan always has amazing toys and merchandise that the rest of the world can only dream of owning. Their ‘Secret Teams’ line of figures is definitely something I’m sure every fan would snatch up if they had the chance: Pikachu in the outfits of every villainous team from the games! That Team Skull Pika is particularly adorable, though I am very partial to Flare. Of course these are only available in the Pokemon Center, but there’s hope for those of us who don’t live in Japan. These cuties are easily available on auction sites like Yahoo Japan, and reseller Pokevault has the whole trading figure line up (for a price), along with plushes, stickers, and other assorted evil!Pika goodies. Gotta catch em all? [via Taiwanjin]

  • We saw what Good Smile Company & co and Vertex brought to Miyazawa Model, but of course a few others showed up as well! Though it seems like everyone else was limited to one or two new figures up their sleeves. Kotobukiya had just a handful of new stuff: Wilhelmina Braunschweig Ingenohl Friedeburg (why with this naming) from High School Fleet, aka “that KanColle ripoff” and…. Spike is finally painted! Revolve didn’t have much, but they did have announcements for Rem & Ram from Re:Zero. Aoshima had a lovely Izetta from Shuumatsu no Izetta on display, and Medicom had out their Gary/Blue/whatever you want to call him. Pulchra announced two new Vocaloids: Yukari Yuzuki and… a different figure of Yukari. And let’s not forget about the wacky EVA Unit-01 action figure on display! [via amiami & hobby_maniax]

  • I tend to think of MegaHouse as a company that thrives on nostalgia. If it’s a new series, they hardly give it the time of day: it’s all about our childhood shows and long-running anime. So imagine my surprise at their big MegaHobby announcement: Yuri on Ice figures! If you told me they would be the first to hop on what I’m sure will be an insane figure hype-train, I would have laughed, but here we are. Of course they had a ton of nostalgia going on too. Their full Pokemon line was out, looking impressive, and showing off the Ash & Charizard figure we’ve all been waiting for. Plus a huge Digimon one too! Sadly, the new Android 18 is just as tacky and inaccurate as the first, but it’s kind of countered by a non-boobytastic Tsunade. Also a recolor of their gorgeous Elf!We’ve got Sailor Moon, Zatch Bell, One Piece, Naruto, D. Gray-Man, Space Battleship Yamato, Gundam, and so much more. Check them all out in the gallery! • So far Kotobukiya’s Pokemon line has given us Ash/Red, May, and an announcement for Serena. Apparently the girl-parade is continuing because they announced two new figures, and they’re both the girls from recent games! We’re getting Hilda/Touko from Black & White (Hilda, really Nintendo?) with Tepig and Rosa from Black & White 2 with Snivy. Between MegaHouse hitting all the classic characters, Medicom doing the Champions, and Kotobukiya covering the newer (female) ones, we have quite the coverage of Pokemon figures! Is there anyone you’d like to see next? [via mfc]

  • Few figure lines bring me as much joy as MegaHouse’s Pokemon G.E.Ms. They’re so colorful and full of life! Plus, you know, the hardcore nostalgia it brings up is unbeatable. Though they’re small, I really feel like they are everything I want in a Pokemon line. Including, of course, all the classic characters we know and love–like Gary Oak, who I never thought would get a figure! Ash’s classic rival comes in a snooty pose fitting his character, and also a little Eevee pal. Aw, cute! But that’s not all: along with this release we got the announcement for the next in the line. It’s not a new character: they’ll be doing Ash again, but this time with Charizard. I have a spark of hope that he’ll be riding it. A girl can dream, right? Pre-Order At: HLJ | AmiAmi ~smell ya later~
