Queen’s Blade Rebellion Archive

  • As usual, Orca Toys’ display this Wonder Festival focused on the lewd. Nothing totally overt like, say, Native or AlphaMax, but also not anything you want to have out when grandma comes over to visit. There were the requisite ToHeart girls: my waifu and Bunny Sasara both showed up, and apparently they gave Black Cat Tamaki’s outfit to Bridget from Freezing! We’ve also got a pretty adorable OreImo duo, a second swimsuit Kuroneko, a black version of their Siggy from Queen’s Blade, and finally Sansei Muramasa who seems very popular right now. [via moeyo]

  • Merry Christmas Eve, Plastikitties! Of course magazine scans decided to drop on one of the busiest days of the year–usually we get them on the 21st or 22nd, but this year Japan decided “hey, let’s wait until those crazy Americans are actually doing something!” So this month we are keeping it short and sweet. This is an action packed bunch of scans: MegaHouse has their Dragon’s Crown Sorceress sculpted, release info for their Amazon, and more IDOLM@STER goodies (of course). AlphaMax has a surprise sculpt of Saber Bride that looks amazing! Hyakka Ryouran has a ton of figures in these scans: Inshun Houzouin from Alter, Mataemon Araki from Kaitendoh, and a painted Naoe from New Line. Clayz is bringing a Takeshi Miyagawi Ymir sculpt to PVC (FINALLY!), and MegaHouse’s new Liliana is painted. Amakuni is redoing their Noel (again), this time with a tweaked sculpt, and their Shimakaze is done too. The Seven Sins Satan is… still just a sculpt, and the second Asmodeus is here in more detail. We’ve also got a repaint of Koto’s Kobato, which I am honestly not feeling at all. On the Tony Taka front, swimsuit Nellis is sculpted and looking amazing, and the AlphaMax Viola is painted (and I’m in love!). We’ve got lots of Nendos and the Snow Miku figma, Fairy Tail’s Erza Scarlet, and FREEing has their yukata Tamaki and Inori painted. And last but not least, Alter’s Hayate and Max Factory’s Cerberus make appearances. Phew, that’s a lot of stuff! Check them all out in the gallery. [via Figure/GK]

  • Whoo, scans. Pardon my lack of enthusiasm, but the week leading up to Wonder Festival always has me dreading scans. It means extra features (garage kit roundup and wishlist) on top of, well, the event coverage and we have three reviews to work on this week! So when I remembered scans were tonight I nearly cried. For real, ask Stephen. So, let’s just dive right in. Wow, such figures! So PVC! Wowwwww! Maybe I’ll just do every post in Shibe…

  • Another month, another batch of magazine scans! Is it just me, or have scans kind of tapered off in intensity? I feel like several companies have kind of “dropped out” of the Hobby Japan scans, namely Good Smile Company & co. We really don’t get many big reveals from them anymore! In fact, the scans pretty much seem to be “check out what cool things MegaHouse has, with some stuff from Alter and Kotobukiya on the side. Oh, and maybe Orchid Seed will pop up too!” Decline of the scans or not, we do have a pretty action-packed month for you! Well, if you’re a MegaTen fan at least. Because there are three new MegaTen girls! And only one of them is from Persona, believe it or not! So hit the jump and let’s get started.

  • With the madness of Wonder Festival last week, there wasn’t exactly a whole lot of time to work on a roundup! Instead, we’re bringing you a double-packed roundup this week, featuring highlights from the past 2 weeks. Thankfully this week was a bit sparse, since companies took the first half off to recover from the event. We do, of course, have a whole lot going on! There’s lots of ladies and even a few boys, cheap figures and expensive figures, giant ones and tiny ones and everything in between, so check them all out after the jump!

  • MegaHouse usually saves their big reveals for MegaHobby Expo, so most of what they had on hand was relatively old. However, they did bring out figures in force! Since they had so many, we’re going to start off with the girls. They had all 4 of the Aquarion Evol girls on hand, along with their Medaka and Rise who we already took a look at. Of course they had to represent One Piece as well, so the swimsuit Nami and “Sailing Again” Perona were on display as well. Lastly, they had the Queen’s Blade figures they plan on re-releasing on display… but no new sculpts. Sigh, I didn’t get my wish! [via moeyo & akibahobby]

  • Azone is one of the few doll companies to attend Wonder Festival, so of course they bring out the big guns! And I do mean that in the literal sense: the Siggy in the header is one of their 50cm (1/3 scale) dolls! I rarely go for Azones, but she really does look amazing. They also have a 1/3 scale Inori Yuzuhira and Mei Misaka from Another. Inori’s face is gorgeous! Of course they had some girls on the smaller side of things. There’s a Pureneemo Kuroyukihime that looks lovely (though is sure to be expensive!), and a casual Kyoko Sakura. Two Touhou girls showed up, Youmu Konpaku and Yuyuko Saigyouji–sadly, these will be exclusives. Sena Kashiwazaki and Nyarlathotep were there as well, though they already went up for order. However, there is going to be a 1/3 scale Sena as well! Some of the original characters appeared as well of course! Lilia is getting some little sisters, and the a la mode line is continuing with Alisa. There was only one art-based announcement, Shirakiin Ririchiyo from Inu x Boku SS. • There are certain things we can expect to appear at Wonder Festival tomorrow: a figma and/or scaled figure of Racing Miku 2012, something based on Tony Taka art from Kotobukiya, more Idolm@ster girls from MegaHouse, Nendoroids of girls from recent animes, Beach Queens that no one really cares about. But there are always surprises, and one of the best parts of collecting is guessing (or rather wishing) what those items might be. As you may recall, we opened up this wishlist to our readers to celebrate our 1st birthday, and we got a lot of good entries! Many of them Shin Megami Tensei related as well, which I’m going to guess is because you love me so much and knew I couldn’t make all the wishes myself. So what do we all desire from this event? Hit the jump to find out!

  • This month’s magazine scans have been pure ridiculousness. We got an early leak, then some very messy scans, and then the real scans. Now we’re getting more blurry cellphone shots, but it’s of yet another batch of figures we hadn’t seen yet! Seriously Japan, get it together. This set is almost entirely new figures. FREEing is taking on the main Nanoha 3 (Fate, Nanoha & Hayate) in 1/4 scale, this time in bunny outfits! GSC and Gift already collaborated on a 1/4 swimsuit set, but these ones look much better with sharper sculpts. They will be ¥12,800 each with Nanoha hitting shelves in November. Then we’ve got a Kira Yamato G.E.M from MegaHouse, unsurprising given their already up for order Athrun. In a surprising turn of events, Orchid Seed showed off a fully sculpted but until now unannounced figure: a 1/6 scale of Alleyne from Queen’s Blade in a swimsuit. As usual I love the sculpt, but what about the 10+ other figures still in art stage?! Speaking of QB, we’ve also got a MegaHouse figure of Alicia from the spinoff Queen’s Blade: Grimoire. We’re going to be getting a 3rd version of Sakuya/Maxima from Kotobukiya, this time in her fiery red outfit from Shining Blade. You can check out the art for it in the gallery! In the same vein, Yamato’s Maxima is finally painted. There are also a few more completed figures and sculpts: MegaHouse’s Kagura is also painted, Native showed off the sculpt for their Sasaki, MegaHouses’s Medaka is completed, and Art Spirits’ Saya seems to be ready for orders. Phew, that’s a lot of extra stuff! Seems like a lot of figures that have been unfinished for a while are getting a last-minute boost in order to get them up before Wonder Festival. • The 28th Annual Prize Fair just happened, but it seems like not all of the new goodies were shown off there. In fact, some of the best were kept hidden! These are mostly in the “art” phase (though some seem to be sculpted), so it’s not really a huge surprise. We’ve got several new Evangelion figures (which were noticeably absent at the event), a new Saber from Fate/Zero, some very cute Persona 4 chibis, figures from Shana & Koi to Senkyo to Chocolate, and even some of the ladies from Queen’s Blade Rebellion! None seem to be up for order on any sites that ship internationally but we’ll be sure to update you when they do. For now, check them out in the gallery–I’ve sworn off prize figures but I’m pretty sure that Asuka and Liliana are making their way into my collection! [UPDATE] Big In Japan has most of these figures up for order in their PVC section. [via Hobbynet]
