@GeekeryDo: @mikeyturvey I agree with you. I stopped reading them because I got tired of it, though @Sir_Narwhal is correct that it's normal for comics.

@GeekeryDo: @Sir_Narwhal @mikeyturvey yeh but that's just one arc and it's easy to read it all since, as you said, it's been put together like that.

@NFern0: @Sir_Narwhal Sounds like (ohoho) specialist equipment. Black Friday is more mass consumer oriented isn't it?

When browsing AmiAmi late at night (which I might add is never a good idea, the character goods and used items sections get more and more tempting as the day grows old!), I often discover strange new fads popping up that don’t quite make it into mainstream figure news. But I buy a whole lot of stuff I probably shouldn’t, and my latest batch of goodies have been from the iPhone game Puzzle & Dragons. I’m not entirely sure what you do in said game (is it a puzzle game? a dungeon crawler? Who knows, I don’t feel like Googling it!), but the character designs are a delightfully bizarre mashup of Dragon Quest, Digimon, and Pokemon. Seriously, I have a sticker of something that looks like a digivolved Lapras.
So far most of my (small) Puzzle & Dragons collection has been relegated to plushes and stickers, but now we’re finally getting some figures! Okay, it’s only a trading figure set, but look how cute they are! Those little Slime ripoffs just melt my heart. If you too want a case of these keychains you can get them on AmiAmi, where a case of 10 will run you ¥3,530 with a September release.

Recently we’ve been seeing some pretty interesting and adorable ReMent collaborations like their set with Doraemon, the always amazing Capybara-san and even some good old fashioned regular food sets. But all good things must come to an end: you’d really think by this point they’d run out of Hello Kitty food items to make, but apparently that’s not the case!
This time the theme is school and food, and the set is dubbed ‘WakuWaku Shougakusei.’ Try saying that three times fast! It’s actually really cute, with a Hello Kitty backpack, a nicely done bento box, and for some reason… a keyboard. Don’t look at me, I have no idea what goes on in the heads of the people who come up with this stuff! And even though I rolled my eyes at yet another Hello Kitty set I of course ordered it right away. If you want to as well you can snag a box on AmiAmi for ¥2,390 with a September release date. Just in time for the first day of school!

When ReMent does themed sets, it’s usually of newer characters or at least ones that have staying popularity like Hello Kitty, Rilakkuma, or Capybara-san. This month’s set is a very unexpected move: they’ve reached way back on the nostalgia road and gone for an old Japanese favorite, Doraemon! Doraemon never got as popular outside of Japan as some other characters but he’s pretty darn adorable–plus he’s a time-traveling robot cat. What’s not to love?
This set features all sorts of goodies like cake, curry, rice omelet, burgers, even a bento box! And all for only ¥2,380 at AmiAmi with a June release. I hope we see more unique sets like this from ReMent in the future.

AmiAmi has this nasty habit of combining our orders into big glumps that overlap between months. So, for example, we might not get some of our January stuff until the beginning of March (yet mysteriously it will be with not just February but March items as well). You may have noticed that we skipped a January loot post: well, that’s because we didn’t even get all our figures from it until a few days ago!
But thankfully January and February seemed to be smaller months than most, so we’re just going to combine them into a mega loot post! Check it all out after the jump.

It seems like May 2013 is going to be one of those months where we only get one ReMent release, but given how darn cute this one is I’ll let it slide! This time around we are getting Capybara-san, and while I complain about the number of character-themed ReMent I’ll be honest: this is one guy I just can’t get enough of. I mean, it’s a capybara! I love them!
This set features a lot of cooking equipment like pans, a scale and a rice steamer along with, of course, food in the shape of Mr. Capybara himself. You can snag the full set on AmiAmi for only ¥2,380. I wonder what June will bring us?

It’s that time of the month again: tiny plastic food time! Usually we get two sets a month, but this time we’ve got three going up for order at once: one for March and two for April. Why this unusual formation? Well, we actually had a month (December) with NO ReMent so perhaps they’re just making up for lost time?
First up is the March release, ‘Hello Kitty Kyoto Otome Trip.’ This set is the usual Hello Kitty fare, cute and pink and filled with Japanese goodies. You can get the full set on AmiAmi for ¥2,380. Next up is the first of our April releases, ‘Akogare! Import Store.’ It’s actually not based on any character, it’s just… regular food items! A very nice variety of them too. This will also run you ¥2,380 on AmiAmi.
Last but not least we have the adorable ‘Rilakkuma Birthday Cake’ which features 8 different bear-themed birthday cakes. We haven’t seen a set like this in quite some time! These are all totally adorable, and would be perfect for your next Nendoroid birthday party. A box retails for, you guessed it, ¥2,380 on AmiAmi.

We’ve already seen the ReMent releases for February 2013, but apparently they’re not done yet! After a lul of a few months they’re making up for it in force with a 3rd set for the chilliest month of the year. This time it’s (gasp!) not a character-themed set, it’s not even little animals. Nope, it’s just regular old food! Which really is great, especially if you want a photoshoot that doesn’t have Hello Kitty or Rilakkuma plastered all over it.
This Ekinaka Sweets Box features 8 different tasty treats, ranging from elaborate cakes to the humble donut. A case of all 8 retails for ¥2,380 on AmiAmi. This is the 4th set of trading figures I’ll have in February–there’s gonna be a whole lot of box opening going on that month!

While it’s the middle of winter in half of the world, that doesn’t mean you can only order figures that are all bundled up! In fact, it seems like swimsuit and tropical ladies are on the rise in the colder months. Wishing of warmer times, perhaps? Well then the newest ReMent set is right up your alley! This Aloha Rilakkuma set features everybody’s favorite bear with a tropical twist. There’s shaved ice, a ukulele, even sunglasses and sunscreen! A case of 12 retails for ¥2,380 on AmiAmi and will come out in February.
Then we have something a bit different, an animal based set! We haven’t seen one of these in a while. While it’s not as adorable as my precious Crammed Pets, these ‘Out Fluffy Pets’ (is that a mistranslation of ‘Our Fluffy Pets’ or do they want them to get out?!) are pretty darn adorable. Look at those beady little eyes, they stare right into your soul! These are a bit cheaper at ¥2,200 a case on AmiAmi and they will also come out in February. Of course, I’ve ordered both!

It seems like it’s been a while since we had a new batch of ReMent to show you, but finally they’ve come back to life with two cute new sets, both slated for a January 2013 release. The first is a rather traditionally cutesy “Welcome to the Supermarket” Hello Kitty set. It features all kinds of goodies like pasta, dish soap, and ice cream! It’s nice to see more non-food items making their way in since they are great for set decorating. It’ll retail for ¥2,380 on AmiAmi.
Second we have a Rilakkuma ReMent set called “Small Snacks.” Each is only one piece, an individual goodie. These are usually too big to use with Nendoroids or figmas, but they are perfect cellphone charms or for 1/3 scale dolls like Dollfies! A box will retail for ¥2,200 on AmiAmi. The Pocky are just so cute!

Welcome to two months of loot in one! Actually it’s kind of three: as you may or may not have noticed, we didn’t have a August loot post either. It’s a long story, but basically AmiAmi has been smushing our orders together oddly so we get things late (but some early–most of our October was here before the September items). So some August items squeaked their way in! Hit the jump to get started on our most action-packed loot post yet.
