Red Robin Archive

  •

Earlier today we gave some updates on Kotobukiya’s Ikemen line and later, at Toy Fair, we got to take a close look at the Red Robin sculpt. I’m not gonna lie, every time I see this figure it looks like if a KPop star moonlighted as Red Hood, which, honestly is exactly what we all wanted out of this line and I really dig it. Red Hood’s abs are on full display here, as is the signature butt, which many fans were also looking for from a male version of a bishoujo line. I’m also really liking that Red Robin has three different head options, which elevates this figure that’s just “standing there” to new levels. Now to see what happens with the rest of the Robins!

We knew they’d be doing all of the bat-boys, so it’s no surprise that we got a look at the art for two more of them at Toy Fair: Damian Wayne and Red Robin!

I really appreciate that they went with a cute, sassy pose for Damian since… you know, he’s underage and all. He looks ready to angst it up! I’m not quite as sold on Red Robin yet because the face looks a bit different from the rest of the line, but I’m sure it will all come together once he is sculpted!

[via Kotobukiya’s Facebook]

Toy Fair 2018: Kotobukiya’s Ikemen Line

So far Kotobukiya’s Ikemen line has given us a butt-tastic Nightwing and a less provocative but equally cool Red Hood. We knew they’d be doing all of the bat-boys, so it’s no surprise that we got a look at the art for two more of them at Toy Fair: Damian Wayne and Red Robin!

We’ve got the Suicide Squad movie, an entire season of Gotham based on the baddies, and Kotobukiya’s Villains Forever figure line! We saw the Lex Luthor at SDCC, but there has been some progress since then: Red Robin and Red Hood were out as well! No surprise that for the start they’re sticking with some of the more popular guys–but if the concept art is any indication, we’ll be getting a really great mix–including Bizarro? I sure hope so!
