@GeekeryDo: @mikeyturvey I agree with you. I stopped reading them because I got tired of it, though @Sir_Narwhal is correct that it's normal for comics.

@GeekeryDo: @Sir_Narwhal @mikeyturvey yeh but that's just one arc and it's easy to read it all since, as you said, it's been put together like that.

@NFern0: @Sir_Narwhal Sounds like (ohoho) specialist equipment. Black Friday is more mass consumer oriented isn't it?

AmiAmi has this nasty habit of combining our orders into big glumps that overlap between months. So, for example, we might not get some of our January stuff until the beginning of March (yet mysteriously it will be with not just February but March items as well). You may have noticed that we skipped a January loot post: well, that’s because we didn’t even get all our figures from it until a few days ago!
But thankfully January and February seemed to be smaller months than most, so we’re just going to combine them into a mega loot post! Check it all out after the jump.

More boys! I’ll be honest, I was never that excited at the announcement of a Waver Velvet from Fate/Zero in Alter’s Altair line. The show bored me to tears and I just couldn’t get on board with his character. Plus his design falls a bit flat for me, so even with Alter’ usual attention to detail he’s just… not doing it for me.
That is, until I saw the extras. He comes with a MINI RIDER and a blushing face! Ahh, so cute. Like, to die for cuteness levels over here. Damn you Alter, getting me to hop on board with figures I didn’t even wants!

Welcome to another month of wacky magazine scans. This time we’ve got some very bad cellphone pics, but mixed in with higher quality scans that went up at the same time! Oh Japan, you’re so silly. This month we’ve got quite a few things, which is surprising given that WonFest was only a short while ago. You’d think companies would have nothing new left! Well we do have a lot of Nendoroids we already knew about along with recolors and re-releases, but there are some new goodies as well. Hit the jump to check them all out!
[UPDATE] Updated with the rest of the scans!
[UPDATE #2] Updated with a few stray scans, including MegaHouse’s Rider!

At this past MegaHobby Expo, MegaHouse showed off the art for their Petit Chara Land Fate/Zero set. It’s finished now, and like all of the sets based on Nitro+’s art they are super adorable! We’ve got lots of boys: Rider, Waver Velvet, Emiya Kiritsugu, Lancer, and Gilgamesh. And then… there’s Saber. Not one, but 3 different versions of her. I’m using “different versions” pretty loosely here, since they all have the same outfit and pose, just slightly different weapons. I’m a bit disappointed that they didn’t do Irisviel and Caster, but oh well.
Each box contains 10 figures, which means you should get some dupes. Individual boxes are only ¥660 but a case will run you a steep ¥6,600 (no discounts?!). They will be released in November, a pretty packed month already.

There are a lot of rare, limited lottery-based figures out there, but the convenience store Lawson seems to be the king of ridiculously hard to get figures. Now they’re upping their game with a line of Fate/Zero merchandise, the crowning jewels of which are two figures: one of Saber Zero in her suit and one of Rider Zero in some casual clothing. And when I say two figures I mean two. As in they are most likely only making one of each. There is either going to be one very happy otaku or one very rich flipper when those lottery results come in! The chances of actually owning either of these are pretty astronomical, but for those of us who can only dream they will also have a lot of lottery-based merchandise and a smaller Saber (not in suit) to pine over.

When MegaHouse gets their claws into a license they milk it for all it’s worth. For Fate/Zero fans this is great news, as they announced not just scaled figures at MegaHobby but also a set of chibis! This is part of their ‘Petit Chara Land’ and it features Saber (of course), Gilgamesh, Rider, Waver Velvet, Emiya Kiritsugu, and Lancer. I love the designs here, and it will be fun to have more stylized versions of the characters. Currently, Lancer is the only one that doesn’t have a scaled figure or action figure… but considering the success of Fate/Zero I doubt that will continue for long!

Before I get to the actual info, I have to get something out of my system: DAMN YOU, MEGAHOUSE. THIS IS NOT THE RIDER I WANT. *ahem* MegaHouse has figure at MegaHobby that is strictly Do Not Photograph, but the news has already leaked: they are doing a 1/8 scale Rider… from Fate/Zero. Yeah, the big redheaded guy, probably to go with Alter’s Waver. Of all the Servant/Master combos in Zero was this REALLY the one they had to go with? I’m sure this is great news for fans, but I’m just bitter that we have no modern figures of the actual Rider from F/SN.

The Fate/Stay Night franchise has a ton of characters, but it always seems like only a handful get figures. Saber and Rin in particular are wildly popular, but of course they’re not the only characters in the series! Good Smile Company is making a set based on the cast of Fate/Hollow Ataraxia, and it includes a ton of people: Caren Ortensia, Illyasviel von Einzbern, Bazett Fraga McRemitz, Taiga Fujimura, Leysritt, and Stetho. There are also the “main” (aka most popular) girls in maid gear: Saber Alter, Rin Tohsaka, Sakura Matou and Rider.
A single blind box should run you ¥500, though of course you can get a case that will contain all of the figures. There’s also a secret! Orders open the 10th.

Banpresto sure loves Fate/Stay Night and all of its variations, as shown by their massive lineup of prize figures from the series. It’s getting not one but two Ichiban Kuji lines: one for Fate/Zero that has petit figures of many of the characters, including the boys! That’s right, finally a Gilgamesh, along with Caster, Lancer, and several others including a few ladies. Then there’s the Type-Moon Ichiban Kuji line, which has several chibi figures of their many female characters and two stunning larger figures: Saber Lily in her shorter dress and Aoko Aozaki from Mahou Tsukai no Yoru. Both of these are lovely, but Saber Lily has totally stolen my heart!
Of course they had some non-Ichiban Kuji figures as well, like the rather boring Fate/Zero line. I still think these figures look lackluster, especially next to the awesome sculpts of the Ichiban Kuji line, but it’s still nice to see any version of Iri!

This week had a flurry of toy news. Between coverage of the Mokei Hobby Show and the flood of NYCC news, as well as our preparation for event coverage, I must admit that the new release of the week got a bit lost! I went back over it all last night and realized that there were a surprising number of wonderful figures that I’d totally let slip under my radar. There were the usual duds, like Beat’s bizarre new offering, but for the most part the offerings were pretty excellent!
