Rin Kagamine Archive

  • Senbonzakura Miku has been quite popular recently, getting a figure from FREEing and a Dollfie Dream outfit. But Miku’s not the only Vocaloid with an outfit for this song–Rin & Len are getting in on the action! We saw their sculpt last WonFest but they’re painted… and a bit less colorful than I imagined? I was expecting the same muted green, and these blacks & browns are not really doing it for me. [via ninmi_mi’s Twitter]

  • There are always a lot of good garage kits being shown off at Wonder Festival, and while they’re not really feasible for most of us to own… it’s always nice to look! It can be a bit overwhelming, so over the days leading up to the event (which is on the 27th!) we’ll be breaking some of the kits down by series and category so we can cry together over things we can’t buy. Today’s theme is Vocaloids! Because of course there are a ton at the event. Actually, it seems like there are less this year… especially when you take into account that three of them are from Grizzry Panda. He’s got a gorgeous new “vintage dress” Miku, a chibi version of her, and an Alice recolor of the Red Riding Hood version that Max Factory has picked up for PVC. Then we’ve got a gorgeous, flowing Sakura Miku, a very busty Meiko, and an adorable Rin. Check them all out in the gallery! [via Grizzry Panda, fg-site 1, 2]

  • FREEing had a totally massive display at WonFest this year: I order so few of their figures that I forget how many they produce! However, it seems like they (might have) really stepped up their quality: starting with fairy Racing Miku, who it seems like they will be producing. We also have sculpts for the Yukata Madoka crew, along with Senbonzakura Rin & Len. There’s a lot of new as well! They’re going back to Freezing with a new figure of Bridgete and Elizabeth Malby, who is perched atop her. And there are more big bunny girls: Akeno Himejima, and of course the IS ones we already saw. There are other animals too, as Sarashiki Tatenashi gets a cat version. As for new, we’ve got Alice Kunoji (a big surprise!), Momo Belia Deviluke in a yukata (shock!), and Lisara Restall from Dakara Boku wa, H ga Dekinai. [UPDATE] Added the Nanoha, Fate & Hayate yukata figures. [via 2chan]

  • Sometimes I wonder how Good Smile Company (and Max Factory and Phat! and FREEing) decide how many Nendoroids they are going to make in the next six months. Drinking game? A friendly round of poker? Punch Buggy? Because oh my god there are so many kill me now it’s just too much why god whyyy. As you can tell, I am not having fun collecting Nendoroids anymore. It’s overwhelming and not enjoyable. Turn the volume down a little GSC. Please. Since there is so much (and I just rambled on for a paragraph) let’s dive in! We showed you Saber Extra, Alter, Bride, and Gilgamesh, along with Toon Link & Luigi and the Titan Nendoroids, but there are so many more (a few of which were in Mikatan’s teasers). From Touhou we have Aya and Yukari (FINALLY), the Devil Survivor MC is sculpted (with BYAKKO) along with Aegis, we’ve got all the summer Vocaloids, two more Bakemonogatari Nendoroids (Mayoi and Kanbaru), Tooka Yatogami, Iron Man, Chris Yukine, Fang Lin Yin and Rina Ozawa. But there are brand new, never before seen Nedoroids as well! Shimakaze from Kantai Collection ~Kan Colle~, Tomoko Kuroko from Watashi ga Motenai, Kuroko Shirai from To Aru Kagaku no Railgun, Yukari Akiyama from Girls und Panzer, Uzume Uno from Fantasista Doll, Akari Taiyou & Seira Hoshikawa from Genei o Kakeru Taiyou, Black Gold Saw, Chariot, a new Monster Hunter, Mana Kamaishi & Marina Matoba from Tetsudou Musume, Erica Fontaine from Sakura Wars, and Shinku from Rozen Maiden. Then there’s more Nendoroid Plus effect parts and a few Petit sets. Check them all out below! [via Good Smile Company’s WonFest Page and HMV_Anime’s Twitter]

Thought the just announced set of Soniko pals was enough? Wrong. What about the Madoka set? I mean, she is here and painted, along with the Homura sculpt? WRONG. But we DO have: Tamaki Kousaka; Inori; Nagi from Kannagi; Fate, Nanoha & Hayate (announced); Sasami Tsukuyomi and Mashiro Shiina. All. In. Yukatas. BUT WAIT, THERE’S MORE. Yagyu Jubei (colored!), Rin, Len & Kaito (BOYS?!) in Senbonzakura gear (announced, no sculpts), Percival from Eiyuu*Senki (announced), Kaworu Nagisa (sculpted, uhnf), Rei Ayanami (announced), bunnygirl Rias Gremony (sculpted & huge), the ribbon gals from Kono Naka ni Hitori (painted), Akiho Senomiya (sculpted) and Akiko Himenokouji (sculpted) along with all the Sword Art Online figures. • In a cruel attempt to torment their fans with Nendoroids they can (probably) never have (unless they are filthy rich), Good Smile has recently started doing lottery-style additions to their Nendoroid line. Of course they’ve chosen the ridiculously popular Vocaloid family for this little experiment: so far we’ve had FamilyMart Miku and Santa Miku. They must have been a success, because now we are getting four more. Yes, four! And they’re not all Miku. This summer we’ll be getting a painfully cute swimwear version of Miku astride a blowup dolphin, along with Miku, Rin and Len in preppy tennis-like ensembles. Sigh. These are SO cute, and they’d obviously make a lot of money if these were regular releases. I just don’t understand the mentality behind lottery-style releases of Nendoroids, it makes it so hard for us collectors! There will also be some GraPhigs in the mix, and doubtlessly a lot of other goodies as well. My wallet is weeping. [via 2chan]

  • When it was announced that Romeo & Cinderella Miku was the last of the new Vocaloid Petits, I think we all breathed a collective sigh of relief. No Mikudao! Or so we thought… DUN DUN DUUUUUN You may think that a Nendoroid and figure are enough but oh no, the terrifying Mikudayo is out for blood and is getting a Petit Nendoroid. Hopefully not part of the set, since there are already 12 figures in it and only 12 boxes to a case. Imagine… you’re opening up your case, the last one left is supposed to be Kaito, you’re so excited and then… MIKUDAYO. We’ve also got some news about the set: if you pre-order at GSC directly you get a carrying pouch, and pre-orders at Karukawa or Family Mart will get a cool stand. But those involve proxy fees and/or no discount, so no thanks. As a closing note, this post is a prime example of why I am SO tired of Mikatan’s commentary. Do you really need to mention 3 times how “sexy” these Nendoroid Petits are? No, just stop. [via Mikatan]
