S.H.MonsterArts Archive

  • We’ve already seen a lot from Bandai: Sailor Moon, Batman, Naruto, Dragonball Z & phone undies. But Bluefin stocks a LOT of Bandai products, pretty much all of them, and their booth at Toy Fair was almost literally overflowing with figures. I mean, it was a little hard to squeeze in between all the cases given how packed it was with toys (and people)! The star of the show was the huge display for their Mario S.H.Figuarts, which took up an entire wall! It was pretty impressive, and with all the accessories you can get for him it’s easy to build a mini version of this. There were musical-based figures (Daft Punk, Michael Jackson), lots of Monsterarts, and a brand-new robot Hello Kitty. Check them all out below!

  • Six months ago, Bandai showed off some action figures of the Angels from Evangelion. I was thrilled, since I love their designs and you never really see figures of them. But then they disappeared, which honestly for Bandai isn’t that strange. However, Sachiel and Zeruel are back with some new friends: Ramiel, Shamshel, and the Third and Seventh unnamed Angels from the Rebuild movies. Ramiel is a kind of ridiculous addition: I mean, how are they going to add poseability? Either way, I am definitely going to get them all! [via Charanet’s Facebook]

  • While Evangelion is a smash-hit in the figure-world, many of its characters get left in the dust: most notably the male cast and the Angels. We did get a poseable Bardiel a while back and some moe-fied Angels several years ago, but other than that they seem to be neglected. However, things are changing: we’re getting a giant scaled Sachiel, and now Bandai is adding the Angels to their S.H.MonsterArts line! Zeruel is first up, and of course features the newer movie design. Sadly the MonsterArts line is significantly more expensive than Kaiyodo’s Revoltechs, which contains pretty much all of the Evas. I doubt anything could stop me from owning this bad boy though: Zeruel is definitely one of the coolest Angels! Let’s hope we get Sachiel next: I’d love to have him terrorize my figma girls.
