@GeekeryDo: @mikeyturvey I agree with you. I stopped reading them because I got tired of it, though @Sir_Narwhal is correct that it's normal for comics.

@GeekeryDo: @Sir_Narwhal @mikeyturvey yeh but that's just one arc and it's easy to read it all since, as you said, it's been put together like that.

@NFern0: @Sir_Narwhal Sounds like (ohoho) specialist equipment. Black Friday is more mass consumer oriented isn't it?

Of the many Saber variations, Saber Bride might be the strangest (though at the moment, Sakura Saber is fighting for that spot). She’s a form of Extra, so she’s not even the same character as the original Saber, but the main question is: who is she getting married to, and why is she getting married in weird bondage/fetish gear? With a sword? What kind of wedding is this even? But it’s Saber, and Saber sells no matter what. In fact I’m rather fond of this version since it’s so delightfully weird. It was no surprise when we got the Nendoroid announcement, and since she’s been painted for some time now the full reveal was bound to happen sooner or later.
Good Smile really went all out with Saber Bride: the detail is pretty awesome, on everything from her sword to her crown of flowers to the burnt edges of her veil. Pretty impressive for something so tiny! And she actually comes with some decent faces: not happy, happy, and…. incredibly, adorably derpy, with a music note ahoge to match. Too cute! Orders open on December 5th, and I can’t help but wonder what Saber they’re gonna Nendoroid-ize next… they’re running out of options.

It’s been a while since we had a Nico Nico broadcast from Good Smile Company & co with anything worth writing up, mainly since they seem to be doing all their new announcements at random events, on Kahotan’s blog, or on Twitter. But there are quite a few goodies today–nothing brand new, but a whole lot of updates! Only one thing on the scaled figure front, so we’ll get that out of the way first: Racing Miku 2013 is painted, and I’m liking her a lot more now! It’s the little crown. So cute!
Then there’s a whole lot of Nendoroid news. Saber Bride is painted and… well, she was before, but here she is again! We get to see some of Winter Clothing Version Isabelle, who comes with awesome effect parts. Then there’s Akari Taiyou and her alternate hair (which might as well be its own figure) from Genei o Kakeru Taiyou, along with the adorable Akagi from Kantai Collection. The table, I need it! Oh, and figma Miho Nishizumi and Yukari Akiyama are here too *yawn*

Good Smile Company can’t get enough of Saber! Literally. I’m pretty sure it is physically impossible for them to stop making figures of Saber and her many incarnations. But of course demand is pretty high–as much as we all complain about “too many Sabers” we were pretty thrilled to see an announcement for Nendo Saber Bride at WonFest!
Now she’s painted and SO CUTE! Bride is one of my favorite variations of Saber, which is funny because I don’t really like Extra (which, of course, this actually is…) that much at all. I really hope that she gets some good faces & accessories… and that the figures from Apocrypha start showing up soon.

How many versions of Saber could there possibly be? A whole lot more than we already have, it seems. Good Smile Company actually hasn’t made figures of her past few versions, Extra and Bride, but it turns out it’s because… they want to make a version of her that kind of doesn’t exist! I mean, it exists… in art form, but not in an actual game.
Since Sakura Miku was so successful, they’re applying the concept to Saber! She looks so much like Shiki and Sakura Shingujis love child. And considering the recent deluge of kimono figures, she seems kind of… redundant. I want a good figure of Extra! But oh well, we all know she’s gonna sell. And I’ll order her, sigh.

Oh Saber, I’ll never be able to quit you. Just when I’ve said to myself “that’s it, no more Saber figures! No matter what!” Companies whip out something like Pajama Saber or, in this instance, a figure based on some of my very favorite Saber art (technically Saber Zero). I’ve wanted something based on this for a long time, and we did get a kind of terrible trading figure from Kaiyodo but we all know that doesn’t count.
Sadly this is the worst possible news ever because she’s being made by Aniplex. I don’t for a second believe they are manufacturing their own figures: based on the glimpses of her sculpt, which you can see in the gallery, I assume they are using GSC’s factory. But this means that, like Maiko Madoka, she will most likely be an exclusive. And not the kind you can use a proxy for, the “you can never own this unless you sell a kidney” kind. DAMN YOU ANIPLEX. And she’s even my favorite scale, 1/6. You’re breaking my heart, Aniplex.

For a while now, I’ve been pleading with the figure gods to pick up Primal Heart’s Pajama Saber garage kit and make her into PVC so I could own this impossibly cute version of Arturia. At Wonder Fetstival we found out my dreams were coming true–though oddly enough this time around it would be Wing taking on their work! Which is strange indeed because their Saber Lily kit was picked up by Alter.
But after seeing these promo pictures of the completed Pajama Saber I’m pretty confident in Wing. I mean, she looks perfect! I was a bit annoyed at first that Alter had passed her up (or whatever happened backstage), but oh my god so cute I need her right now! Orders start today, and sadly she comes out in dreaded December.

So by now I’m sure you all know that Toda Satoshi has sculpted a Saber Bride, and that Gift has officially picked up the sculpt and will be adding it to their growing collection of Sabers. Seriously, the only one they haven’t made into a figure is the brand new Saber from Apocrypha and like Saber Lion (someone please make a PVC Saber Lion). But Toda’s Saber Bride came out as a garage kit first which can only mean one thing… customization!
Someone has decided to give her a dark, gloomy recolor that I am so in love with. Just look at all the details! She looks so much cooler this way, in fact I think we should petition Gift to do an official recolor. I don’t care if she never shows up in the game like this and it was just from one fan’s imagination. I need her like burning.

AlphaMax seemed to be a no-show at Wonder Festival, which was surprising since they seem to be really picking up the pace on their production. Did they have no new announcements? No new Tony girls for me?! Why, AlphaMax, whyyyyyy?!?!? Well, seems like my worrying was for nothing because we have a whole bunch of, um… things we’ve already seen for you.
Like all that pretty Tony Taka art, only bigger and cleaner shots of it! Along with their Sorceress, Saber Lily, Asuna, and the Kirino & Kuroneko duo. Oh, and there is one new announcement–they will be doing a figure based on some very NSFW art from Kizuki Aruchu, who illustrated Orchid Seed’s Yuki and Native’s Gamer Girl.

Sometimes I feel like I’m the only person in the world who doesn’t hate Griffon. Yes, many of their figures are laughbly derpy and they screw up pretty often. But every once in a while they get it totally right: I dare you to look at their Ellis and tell me she sucks in any way. So open your mind up just a little, because they had a sculpt or two at WonFest that were totally awesome! Mainly the whooshy girl from Vividred Operation that looks like KOS-MOS (what’s up with that?) who I kind of need right now. Their kitty Kirino is also painfully cute, though they are doing a standing version of her that doesn’t look so hot. And their Kimi to Kanojo to Kanojo no Koi line looks promising: Aoi Mukou has pink hair and is holding a cat, which I totally cannot resist, and they announced a matching Sone Miyuki.
They also had sculpts for Yukimura Kusunoki, Asuka, Nyaruko, Haruka Kotoura and Benkei Musashibou, though only the latter caught my attention. As for announcements… they had plenty! They’ll be doing Saber again (the last time she was topless!), along with the Rozen Maiden dolls. We also have Shimakaze from Kantai Collection ~Kan Colle~ (AGAIN oh my godd why is she so popular), Himawari Shinomiya in a swimsuit, Tsukiko & Tsukushi Tsutsukakushi (also in swimsuits), and lastly Yozora Mikazuki in a witch outfit (which I am very excited for–matching Sena please!)
