@GeekeryDo: @mikeyturvey I agree with you. I stopped reading them because I got tired of it, though @Sir_Narwhal is correct that it's normal for comics.

@GeekeryDo: @Sir_Narwhal @mikeyturvey yeh but that's just one arc and it's easy to read it all since, as you said, it's been put together like that.

@NFern0: @Sir_Narwhal Sounds like (ohoho) specialist equipment. Black Friday is more mass consumer oriented isn't it?

Another month, another set of magazine scans! But this is no ordinary month, oh no. We’ve got a roller coaster ride of emotions going on here. You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, you’ll rip out your hair, you will sob with joy at a particular announcement from MegaHouse. Or, well, I did. (Not really because crying about figures is a little weird but my soul wept at a certain sculpt here. You’ll know which one when you get to it QUEEN’S GATE I WILL NEVER FORGIVE YOU.)
So hit the jump to see what all the fuss is about! And, you know, to see if any of this month’s ladies catch your eye.

Alter’s Hyakka Ryouran line is one of the things that really got me into PVC collecting. One of my first PVC figure loves was Senhime, and we snagged the Yagyu re-release soon after that as well as the swimsuit version of her. More recently we picked up the exclusive Sanada (review) and Gotou (review), and we of course have the new swimsuit Yagyu and swimsuit Naoe on order! Which means the only one we’re missing is Hattori, who I find a bit odd-looking.
Anyway, Naoe has my second-favorite design of all of the Hyakka girls (with Charles, the only one without a figure, being my first) so of course I was really looking forward to her release. Plus it’s Alter, who can do no wrong… right? Well I’ll be honest–Naoe is not as flawless as I had envisioned her, but do a few small issues ruin the experience?

After a totally massive batch of loot in January, February was kind of a cool-down period for us as we brace for what I can only imagine will be a wallet-breaking March order. There were also a ton of delays in February, while not a lot of January stuff got pushed back, so all in all it was definitely on the smaller side for us. But of course that doesn’t mean it wasn’t full of awesome goodies! So hit the jump to check out what we got in the shortest month of the year.

Delays are a natural part of collecting, but for many people they certainly aren’t a highlight of the hobby. Sometimes you want a figure really bad and wait 6 months for the release, only to find out it’s been pushed back! For others delays are a blessing in disguise, especially if you find yourself running out of money for a particularly expensive month. But no matter what your opinions on delays are and how much (or how little) you collect, it’s something that ends up effecting all of us! So hit the jump to check out what goodies you will be getting this month and which ones you’ll have to wait a little bit more for.

While you’d expect the weeks after Wonder Festival to be packed with figures that popped up at the event, it seems like once again the companies are keeping their new goodies for a later date. Instead, though, we got some wonderful figures from the recent magazine scans!
We’ve got several beach girls set for a nice summery release, a gorgeous demon, a strange Nendoroid, plenty of NSFW figures, and a butt-kicking demon summoner! Hit the jump to check them all out.

Just a few days ago, Alter’s 1/8 swimsuit Naoe Kanetsugu popped up painted in magazine scans! This was a pretty fast turnaround from being unpainted at Wonder Festival, so I have to assume that she was finished even then and they just decided to save the reveal for Hobby Japan. In any case, she’s up, and she’s of course an exclusive! She looks stunning, and if she’s anything like their swimsuit Yagyu she will be well worth the extra cost.
She costs ¥7,800 before proxy fees, will be released in either August or September, and orders will remain open until April 4th. There is also a HJ limited bundle that comes with a placemat featuring Naoe for ¥8,800, though you’d have to order her directly through the website with a proxy like Tenso to get it. Orders are currently only open at Hobbyfan, but we’ll be sure to update when more shops list her!

After a few rather slow weeks for pre-orders, it seems like things are finally starting to pick up! While you’d think we’d be seeing a lot of Wonder Festival goodies this week, that actually wasn’t the case–instead, we got some brand-new unveils which is rather unusual, and a few re-releases as well. Of course we did get a few things that showed up for Wonder Festival, like an adorable version of Marisa and a really awesome figure from Yamato. There are also giant bunny girls, a rare male figure, ridiculous Nendos, and quite a few NSFW offerings, so let’s get started!

Well guys, it’s magazine scan time! Like always we got a nice mix of things–new unpainted prototypes, some shiny coats of paint on long-awaited figures, and a sneak peak at the expressions and accessories for the newest poseable goodies. This week we got a lot of Shining Hearts, the usual dose of Queen’s Blade and Hyakka Ryouran, a surprise OreImo-related announcement, sexy boys, and more. Hit the jump to check it all out!

Once again, our loot is two months late! I was thinking back about our July and June posts, though, and it doesn’t seem so bad. We didn’t even get payment requests for our August orders until mid-September, and it takes a while to receive everything and then organize it all. If you order only 1 one 2 figures a month you’ll get them right on time, but the bigger the order the longer the delay.
Anyway, back on topic! August was our biggest month ever for figure orders, as we ended up with both of our AmiAmi orders and a flood of exclusives that all seemed to come out at once. It’s probably going to be our biggest month ever (or at least for quite some time), as Stephen and I have started trimming down our orders quite a bit.
