  • Santa Satan, Just slip some demons under the tree for me, I’ve been an awful good hellspawn~ Twas the night before Christmas, and here at Plastikitty we were taking pictures of butts and worshiping Santa Satan. All part of the holiday spirit, right? And what’s more Christmas-y than Santa? Nothing, except maybe Satan from 7 Deadly Sins in some sweet Santa cosplay. This Amakuni figure was destined to be mine from the moment I saw her: I mean, it’s Satan and that alone is enough to sell me, but she also happens to be hella cute. And Christmas figures are such a weakness of mine! So we took her out for a romp under the tree. I had a lot of fun shooting her (even though I had to wiggle around on the ground a lot), so check out all our shots in the gallery below. Happy holidays from Plastikitty!

  • When a line is milked as hard as Hobby Japan has been pushing the Seven Deadly Sins, we get a lot of recolors. And oh man have they gone to town on these girls: almost all of the standard ones have gotten recolors, and even some of the alternate sculpts! I have to say, I’m a bit surprised they did a recolor of Satan: I mean, the red is a classic. And if they were going to do another, you’d expect like black right? Maybe a bloody garnet? Nope, she’s blue and white! So maybe this is the Inferno colorway, where Satan is trapped in ice, but 1) she only has one face so probably not and 2) I really don’t think they’re that clever. I guess this matches the pastel Lucifer? I’d rather have a version to match this, thank you very much. Satan is, no surprise, an exclusive: she retails for ¥11,000 and is set for a March release date. You can snag one right now at Big In Japan! [via Hobby Japan]

  • Most people know I have been against the alternate “sexy” versions of the Seven Deadly Sins line from the start. Between bikini Lucifer, the Leviathan “resculpt,” bunny Asmodeus and the terrifying Mammon, this line has just not been for me. But I mean COME ON, Santa Satan. It’s an abomination. The original Satan is beautiful. Strong, powerful, and you know… kind of looks like she could control legions of evil hell-spawn. This is a pinup in a Santa outfit. I do not approve. Why didn’t you go with this art? That I would buy. [via Radio Kaikan]

  • While the Seven Sins line has been full of ups and downs (huge delays, split over two companies with drastically different quality levels, icky alternate colorways, swimsuit alts that aren’t even in the right scale…), some things are just so so right. Like Lucifer, my personal favorite of all the releases. And it looks like her companion piece, Satan, is shaping up to be just as stunning. I mean, the fact that they separated Lucifer and Satan at all gives me a mythology boner but wow is she gorgeous! The color palette, the crisp lines of her cape, the horns, her butt. Ugh, but it will be so long before we actually get her. Her release is set for February (sob) but I am also expecting delays. This is torture! But, you know, fitting for a figure crafted after the Lord of Hell. [via AmiAmi’s Blog]

  • The Dark Lord giveth, and the Dark Lord taketh away. That’s how it has been so far with the 7 Sins line: Asmodeus, Leviathan, Mammon, and Belphegor have all been annoying exclusives, with only one chosen one as a regular release for the masses. Surprisingly it was Lucifer, and I had a niggling suspicion her “sister” figure Satan would follow the same pattern (with, of course, Beelzebub also being an exclusive). Thankfully (for me, at least, because Lucifer & Satan have my favorite designs of the lot) I was right! So the angel of light and the ruler of hell can be yours quite easily, with no proxy fees. Sadly, while Lucifer was under $100, Satan has a steep base price of ¥11,000. She’s coming out in February 2015, though, so you have a while to make up your mind. No, that is not a misprint. You have a FULL YEAR to save up for this devil. Hail Satan, indeed. Pre-order At: AmiAmi | Hobby Search

  • You can expect the Seven Deadly Sins line to pop up at pretty much every major event, usually with only one or two updates… but some news is better than no news! This time around we’re actually getting a pretty major change, for once: Orchid Seed’s Satan is finally painted! She and Lucifer are my favorites from the line, so I’m thrilled to see her finished (and looking stunning, of course). Then we’ve got a not so exciting update: remember that terrible Leviathan recolor? Well, that won’t be the only sinner getting redone! They have a horrifying white Asmodeus on display. Barf. Why?! There are so many possibilities: black and bright red with pale hair, perhaps? Or a berry-purple and a cool toned purple color scheme? But no. White. WHYYYY. [via Figure/GK]

  • Merry Christmas Eve, Plastikitties! Of course magazine scans decided to drop on one of the busiest days of the year–usually we get them on the 21st or 22nd, but this year Japan decided “hey, let’s wait until those crazy Americans are actually doing something!” So this month we are keeping it short and sweet. This is an action packed bunch of scans: MegaHouse has their Dragon’s Crown Sorceress sculpted, release info for their Amazon, and more IDOLM@STER goodies (of course). AlphaMax has a surprise sculpt of Saber Bride that looks amazing! Hyakka Ryouran has a ton of figures in these scans: Inshun Houzouin from Alter, Mataemon Araki from Kaitendoh, and a painted Naoe from New Line. Clayz is bringing a Takeshi Miyagawi Ymir sculpt to PVC (FINALLY!), and MegaHouse’s new Liliana is painted. Amakuni is redoing their Noel (again), this time with a tweaked sculpt, and their Shimakaze is done too. The Seven Sins Satan is… still just a sculpt, and the second Asmodeus is here in more detail. We’ve also got a repaint of Koto’s Kobato, which I am honestly not feeling at all. On the Tony Taka front, swimsuit Nellis is sculpted and looking amazing, and the AlphaMax Viola is painted (and I’m in love!). We’ve got lots of Nendos and the Snow Miku figma, Fairy Tail’s Erza Scarlet, and FREEing has their yukata Tamaki and Inori painted. And last but not least, Alter’s Hayate and Max Factory’s Cerberus make appearances. Phew, that’s a lot of stuff! Check them all out in the gallery. [via Figure/GK]

  • Ah, the Seven Deadly Sins line: a massive collaboration between Nitro+, Amakuni and Orchid Seed that has proven to be my downfall… at least when it comes to money. I mean, most of these are exclusives and they suck your money out like little vampires. We’ve got quite a few updates from today’s events, the most important of which are TWO new paintjobs: Amakuni’s Belphegor and Beelzebub are both complete! I am IN LOVE with Beelzebub. The wings, the pink twintails, she’s amazing. Belphegor is cute too but Bub over here is kind of stealing the show. We’ve got the alternate “sexy” version of Asmodeus here too in her bunny outfit, which I am… not digging (I wonder if the other girls will get less clothed versions too like her and Lucifer?), and also a second look at the Satan sculpt (which can you please release as a regular figure Orchid Seed thanks). • In a shocking turn of events, the fully sculpted Seven Deadly Sins line has been unveiled at CharaHobby! Did anyone even know Orchid Seed & Amakuni were turning up here? I sure didn’t, but… here they are! There’s a ton of new stuff: mainly that Beelzebub and Belphegor, the last two from Amakuni, are sculpted and man Beelzebub is SO CUTE ahh! Swimsuit Lucifer is also here (though we’ve seen the sculpt before) and she actually looks a lot cuter than I thought. Last but not least, there’s the Leviathan repaint! Which, to be honest, is bringing the whole thing down. She’s just… ugh, candy colored? What? Ew. [UPDATE] Added closer pictures from moeyo! [via Orchid Seed’s Twitter]
