Sayaka Miki Archive

  • It seems like every year Good Smile goes bigger and bigger. We’ve already seen their Fate/Grand Order scales, but they have over 25 others at the event. So let’s just dive right in! A massive amount of the announcements are from Saenai Heroine no Sodatekata: Utaha Kasumigaoka, Eriri Spencer Sawamura, Michiru Hyoudou, and Megumi Katou are all getting swimsuit figures. There will also be a figure of Eriri in the very strange ‘Hot Limit’ line that also includes Uzuki Shimamura (with floating boobs!) and Sonico. Speaking of Sonico, her wedding figure is painted. So disappointed: I wish she was less tacky, because the sculpt is gorgeous. Moving on, we have Albedo painted, along with the teased Miku Hatsune and Vira. Their Rem from Re:Zero will of course have a matching Ram, and they’ll give us (of course) a second Rem–the birthday cake version. From KanColle there’s Warspite and Shigure, and some other weapon-wielding ladies like Arisa from Shadowverse & Izetta from Shuumatsu no Izetta. Both Mitsuha Miyamizu and Taki Tachibana from Kimi no Na wa will also be getting figures. Not enough? Well, there’s more! Wilhelmina and Mei Irizaki from High School Fleet, an amazing diorama from Dead Dead Demon’s Dededededestruction, Sayaka & Kyouko, Phosphophyllite from Houseki no Kuni. Damn, that’s a lot of figures! • We’ve seen figures from Good Smile in the Kantai Collection and IDOLM@STER lines, but that was really just the tip of the iceberg. They had a ton of really cool figures (an announcements!). Of course the queen of my heart is that new Belldandy I’ve been eagerly anticipating. They also had many of the teased figures, like the new Mami (who has a matching Sayaka AND a Kyoko announcement!), Megumi Katou, and the new (amazing) Monogatari girl. There’s lots of new as well! Kabaneri‘s Mumei got a figure (surpriiiise), there’s Vira fron Granblue Fantasy, and tons of announcements. We’re finally getting a scaled Snow Miku, along with yet another Saber, Marcoss Delta‘s Mikumo Guynemer, Mei Irizaki from High School Fleet, and Re:Zero‘s Rem. What are you looking forward to? • Oh look, another event in Japan! This one isn’t actually centered around figures like MegaHobby or WonFest–it’s about anime! And that’s where 80% of figures come from, so of course a few showed up. We’ll start off with Aniplex who brought quite a few new things. The first in importance (to me) is the sculpted Teddie–he looks so great! And huge. Then we’ve got painted versions of the maiko Sayaka & Kyoko, who took a while but they definitely look like they were worth it. Then there’s the surprise announcement: Shiki Ryougi! Her pose looks really great and dynamic, but of course Aniplex = expensive. They also had a few up-for-order figures out and about, so check them all out in the gallery. [via Dengeki]

  • It’s a god day to be a Madoka fan, because Aniplex has given us not one but two updates on their Maiko Madoka Magica line! First up we have the full art reveal for the recently announced Sayaka & Kyoko duo. I’m really loving both of these designs, even though Sayaka is my least favorite of the girls. Sorry, Sayaka. Then we have a back shot of Maiko Mami, only she’s a bit different this time–no, the helmet hair is still there–but now she’s painted! I love the pink yukata, so lovely. I really regret skipping Madoka now, since I’m really loving the rest of the line. [via Aniplex 1, 2]

  • It’s been pretty clear from the start that Aniplex’s Maiko Madoka Magica line would contain all the girls. I mean, why not milk that golden goose for all it’s worth? So far we have had Madoka, Homura and Mami, but it was obvious that the other girls would be joining the lineup. And, like a shipper’s dream, the two have been announced together! I initially skipped Madoka because of her wonky face, and now I am regretting it. Homura is so gorgeous, and of course I have to get Kyoko! Which makes me want the full set… sigh, collector problems. • As usual FREEing’s display was pretty much yukata girls and big bunny figures all the way down. We’ve seen the IM@S yukata offerings, but of course there were more! Kirino & Kuroneko from OreImo, along with Misaka Mikoto & Kuroko Shirai. We also have an update on the Madoka line! Mami is painted, and Kyoko and Sayaka are sculpted. Now, the bunnies. If you’d always wanted a slithering Elder Chaos in a bunny outfit, you are in luck because Nyaruko is getting one of their 1/4 scale variants. So is Origa from Hyakki Yakou who looks STUNNING. Finally, the last Infinite Stratos animal girl is finished: Houki, who seems to be a fox! [UPDATE] The Freezing 1/4 scale girls are painted! [via whl4u & GSC Facebook]

  • Is it really that time of year already? I feel like we just wrapped up coverage of Winter Wonder Festival, but here we are–with the reveal of Good Smile Company & Co’s Summer WonFest exclusives! Surprisingly there are no scaled figures this time around, but they made up for it with more goodies than we usually get. First up is a set of Madoka Nendoroids: Sayaka and Kyoko in their school uniforms (¥6,000)! How cute is that? I love their sitting poses. Of course there is tons of Kantai Collection stuff. A figma of Kaga (¥5,000) and two figures of my absolute favorite KanColle design: Wo-Class! We are getting both a Nendoroid (¥4,800) and a large vinyl figure from Phat! Company (¥5,000). Last, but certainly not least, is a cleaning version of figma Levi (¥4,500) which we all saw coming from a mile away. These will all be open for international orders starting on Junly 27th! [UPDATE] The amazing Nendoroid faceplates will also be WonFest exclusives, but only available online in Japan. I’m honestly at a loss for words about this because I was so looking forward to them. [UPDATE 2] Looks like they might have changed their mind on the faceplates, their Faceobok is now saying they will be available for overseas purchases! [via GSC]

  • FREEing had a totally massive display at WonFest this year: I order so few of their figures that I forget how many they produce! However, it seems like they (might have) really stepped up their quality: starting with fairy Racing Miku, who it seems like they will be producing. We also have sculpts for the Yukata Madoka crew, along with Senbonzakura Rin & Len. There’s a lot of new as well! They’re going back to Freezing with a new figure of Bridgete and Elizabeth Malby, who is perched atop her. And there are more big bunny girls: Akeno Himejima, and of course the IS ones we already saw. There are other animals too, as Sarashiki Tatenashi gets a cat version. As for new, we’ve got Alice Kunoji (a big surprise!), Momo Belia Deviluke in a yukata (shock!), and Lisara Restall from Dakara Boku wa, H ga Dekinai. [UPDATE] Added the Nanoha, Fate & Hayate yukata figures. [via 2chan]

  • Lawson, a chain of convenience stores in Japan, is starting to like Madoka Magica almost as much as they love Evangelion. They’ve done some fancy exclusive figures from the series before, bringing us Pettankos in school outfits and gym uniforms. Apparently they’re not very creative because we are getting a second dose of gym uniforms, this time in poses very similar to those cute stackable trading figures Kotobukiya does. Seeing as how Kotobukiya does figures from Lawson all the time… I’m pretty sure that’s what these are. Of course they are lottery prizes so you will have to go to Japan to have a shot at these for “retail” and you don’t even want to know how much a full set would cost you on the aftermarket. If you are trying for some strange reason to get a complete MM collection just pretend these don’t exist. Trust me, your wallet will thank you. [via Lawson]

  • Whoo, scans. Pardon my lack of enthusiasm, but the week leading up to Wonder Festival always has me dreading scans. It means extra features (garage kit roundup and wishlist) on top of, well, the event coverage and we have three reviews to work on this week! So when I remembered scans were tonight I nearly cried. For real, ask Stephen. So, let’s just dive right in. Wow, such figures! So PVC! Wowwwww! Maybe I’ll just do every post in Shibe…
